IMPLEMENTATION OF SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT IN BULIHAN

NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

Introduction: Solid Waste Management is under of the Republic Act No. 9003 of
2000 in Philippines. This Act makes provision for the efficient solid
waste management, for the volume reduction of the waste, its
environment friendly disposal, composting, recycling, re-use, and
recovery. We want to implement in Bulihan National High School
the proper solid waste management.

Purpose: The main purposes of this project is to ensure that students and
teachers are aware of the impact of waste on their health, to
protect health of every students of Bulihan National High School,
And also to educated the students and the teachers on the proper
segregation of solid waste.

Project Description:

Solid Waste Management or segregation of waste with the

supervision of Republic Act no. 9003 that we want to implement in
BNHS. Reducing waste at school instills a culture of environmental
responsibility in students. With some creativity and a simple change
of habit, schools can watch their dumpster size (and waste bill)
shrink.

Problem and Significance: This project is implemented because

we observed that students are lack of education in terms of the
proper solid waste management or simply the proper waste
segregation. If this will be implemented the following will be the
beneficiaries:

Students – They will be more aware and educated about on what

is the importance of solid waste management or proper
segregation of waste. And to avoid them in some diseases.

Teacher - They will be monitor and observed the cleanliness of the

school campus with the cooperation of the students.

 School- School Campus will be an eco-friendly because of its
cleanliness.

Approach / Methodology: This project will be effective because

before we start the putting of the garbage bins in every corner of
the school campus we will have first the one day seminar or
orientation to the students about the importance of solid waste
management and proper waste segregation and also we will
conduct a one day school service to clean the school campus.

Impacts and Outcome: If this will be implemented in Bulihan

National High School, the school environment will surely be an eco-
friendly environment, also it can ensure the cleanliness of the
school campus and also it can ensure the health of the students of
Bulihan National High School.

Project Team: This project will only be implemented with the help of the School
Principal Mr. Jovito Mercado that can assist and support our project
financially, also with the supervision of all School teacher that can
encourage their students to support our project and also the
students of BNHS that should fully cooperate in this Solid Waste
Management.
