PRODUCTS

With the introduction of Zhone FiberHome™, an extension

of Zhone’s market-leading FTTx solutions, Zhone is now
enabling high-speed broadband connectivity in places
where broadband was not previously accessible. High-
speed broadband connectivity is the basis for today’s
information age and many governments mandate that
it should be as available and omni-present as other basic
necessities.

As part of the Zhone FiberHome portfolio, Zhone is

providing new Fiber-to-the-Node (FTTN), Fiber-to-the-
Curb (FTTC), Fiber-to-the-Building (FTTB) and Fiber-to-the-
Premise (FTTP) solutions to extend operators’ last-mile
reach with high-speed Copper to the Premise (CTTP) and
wire-speed Ethernet to the Premise (ETTP) connectivity to
enable advanced broadband and multi-play services.

The solutions delivered in the Zhone FiberHome rollout provide VDSL2 and Active Ethernet connectivity in the last mile in a 1U
form factor to extend network reach and deliver cost-efficiency benefits that exceed those of competitive solutions. In addition,
Zhone also delivers multi-service capability including integrated VoIP functionality. Zhone’s high-speed CTTP solution is based
on VDSL2 30a and enables up to 100Mbps symmetrical connectivity in areas where fiber is cost prohibitive. In these cases, as an
end-to-end solution, Zhone offers VDSL2 CPE and Central Office (CO) products to provide high-speed, long reach and low cost
solutions for multi-dwelling units (MDUs), remote terminals and CO deployments. In the cases where fiber can be extended
cost-effectively, Zhone FiberHome provides Active Ethernet connectivity to enable wire-speed ETTP connectivity.

SOLUTIONS

With Zhone FiberHome solution, Zhone customers benefit from high-speed CTTP solutions and wire-speed ETTP solutions that
extend reach to traditionally challenging and expensive service areas. Additionally, new MXP-160/260 and MXP-180/280 solutions
extend operators connectivity with VDSL2, Active Ethernet and Integrated VoIP capabilities to enable advanced broadband and
multi-play services.

High-Speed VDSL2 Copper-to-the-Premise (CTTP) and Multi-Play Services

Chassis-based MXK solution

Extension of the MXK with high-speed CTTP capability via

support for VDSL2 17a ensures that consumers in remote
locations can avail of cost-effective high-speed copper last-mile
connectivity in cases where new fiber in the last-mile can
be cost-prohibitive. Utilizing the VDSL2 card in the MXK
chassis with the added option for Active Ethernet uplink,
multiple advanced services and high-bandwidth connectivity
can be enabled - including FTTN, FTTC, FTTN and FTTP.
With three new VDSL2 cards, including the 24-port VDSL2
standalone card, 24-port VDSL2 + POTS card and 24-port
VDSL2 + Splitter card, operators can provision high-speed
voice and enhanced voice capabilities and provision
multi-play services in traditionally challenging and expensive
service areas including rural locations and MDUs. In addition,
with the MXK providing industry-leading scalability and multi-service functionality, the Zhone FiberHome using the MXK can
provide a myriad of integrated enhanced high bandwidth services utilizing copper, Fiber and Ethernet connectivity.

High-Speed VDSL2 Copper-to-the-Premise (CTTP) and Multi-Play Services

1U MX-160/260 and MXP-160/260 Platforms

Providing 24-port VDSL2 30a connectivity, the new 1U

chassis-based MX 160 and MX 260 platforms provide high-
speed CTTP connectivity in cases where new fiber in the
last-mile can be cost-prohibitive. VDSL2 30a capability
ensures up to 100Mbps symmetrical throughput on
copper last-mile with the added benefit of ADSL2+ fallback.
Providing an optional integrated POTS splitter, the MX 160 /
MX 260 platforms enable direct connectivity to the Class 5 TDM
switches or PBX’s. With options of either 4x FE/GE uplink ports
or 3x FE/GE uplink ports and 1x GPON uplink port, the MX 160
/ 260 platforms provide the operators with a high performance
and bandwidth intensive solution for high-speed CTTP
solution with guarantees of investment protection. The new
MXP 160/260 platforms provide integrated VoIP functionality in
addition to all the other features provided in the MX 160/260 platforms to deliver additional multi-play services to the customers.
Wire-Speed Ethernet-to-the-Premise (ETTP) and Multi-Play Services
1U MX-180/280 and MXP-180/280 Platforms

Providing 24-port Active Ethernet connectivity, the new 1U

chassis-based MX 180 and MX 280 platforms provide wire-
speed ETTP connectivity in cases where new fiber in the
last-mile can be extended and/or is currently available.
Consumers and businesses in traditionally challenging and
expensive service areas including rural locations and MDUs can
greatly benefit from ETTP connectivity for FTTN, FTTC, FTTN
and FTTP services in a highly cost-effective form factor for the
operator. With options of either 4x FE/GE uplink ports or 3x FE/
GE uplink ports and 1x GPON uplink port, the MX 180 and 280
provide the operators with a high performance and bandwidth
intensive solution for wire-speed ETTP solution with guarantees
of investment protection. The new MXP 180/280 platforms
provide integrated VoIP functionality in addition to all the other
features provided in the MX 180/280 platforms to deliver additional multi-play services to the customers.high performance
