What’s Happening Around Town
“Then sings my soul, my Savior, God to Thee,
how great Thou art!” Amen?! The students and I
have so thoroughly enjoyed learning about our
Mighty Creator God as we studied God’s Word
and studied the days of creation! We ended every
Bible lesson with the song “My God is so Great!”
Indeed, He is great and lovingly tends and teaches
us! Amazing!
We also took time to study how teachers and
pastors serve in their community, and we look for-
ward to learning more about those in the medical
profession including doctors and dentists next
week! It is a great privilege to talk with students
about how they can serve King Jesus right now as
well as when they grow up!
The students also made great strides in the
area of language arts this week! They practicing
writing letters e, i, u, and a in addition to writing
their names! The students helped me read and
write several sentences after we read the book
“My Teacher.” It is exciting to learn about and
practice combining letters and sounds into mean-
ingful words and messages! By the time we con-
clude the upcoming week, the students will have
been introduced to all the vowel sounds and will
be ready to begin learning consonants and forming
blends and words!
In math, we concentrated on positional words
like under, over, in, out, top, middle, and bottom,
and we practiced making patterns and finding miss-
ing numbers in sequences with numbers one
through ten! The students are doing a great job!
You might want to ask them to describe “Count
Zero” and explain his visit to our class this week!
We continue to learn and grow!

Answers to Questions on the Ranch
A: ACA hosts an auction each year to raise
funds for the school. This year the auction
will be held on Saturday, October 23. Each
class is responsible for preparing a basket full
of goodies to be auctioned off at the late Oc-
tober event.
The theme for our class basket is “Harvest
Time Fun.” I encourage each of you to think of
what brings you great delight and joy during
the fall harvest season! The thoughts that just
popped into your mind are probably exactly
what we want to fill our basket with this year.
Items that I thought of include Yankee candles,
football, special coffee and tea, baked goods,
soup, festive table decorations and linens,
pumpkins, good books, theatrical productions,
and colorful florals. Fall reminds me of so many
fun times shared with family and friends while
enjoying the beautiful weather! What comes to
your mind?
Now that the wheels are spinning in your
head, I want to give you a few more details.
We will begin collecting goods for our class bas-
ket next week! You are welcome to donate any
items that remind you of “Harvest Time Fun.”
Each family is encouraged to contribute to our
class basket in whatever way suites you best.
Please contact me if you have any questions or
other ideas! You may also decide to give a small
cash donation, which will be used to put the
“finishing touches” on our basket!

 Spotlighting Students and Volunteers A Bible Course Map for the Upcoming Week

A big thank you goes out to the Rojas
family for providing snacks this week! The
kids enjoyed their treats, and it was a bless-
ing to me to be able to cross out one of
many items written on my “to-do” list!
Again, thank you for your generosity!
The Lamberti family also provided a spe-
cial snack from their garden! Quite a few
students wanted to try zucchini, and much
to my delight and their surprise, the kids
enjoyed the special, uniquely-shaped treat!
Thanks for sharing some of God’s green
earth with us!
I also want to take a minute to com-
mend all of the students for a great week!
They are doing a wonderful job listening to
directions and obeying! We will continue to
work hard at learning procedures and rules,
but I wish to commend them for an out-
standing week!
- (Gen. 2:4-25) God created Adam and
Eve. He created mankind with soul, unlike
animals, and God designed us to serve and fel-
lowship with Him! After creating mankind,
God gave man the responsibility to tend to the
animals and the earth. We, too, have work to
do, and we must do it for God’s glory!

- (Gen. 3:1-24) God gave Adam and Eve
the privilege of eating from every tree in the
garden except from the tree of knowledge of
good and evil. Adam and Eve disobeyed God
and ate of the tree. God punished them for
their sin, but He also provided for their need
of forgiveness. We are sinners, just like Adam
and Eve, but God offers us salvation and for-
giveness!
