Instructions for Research Project Report
The research project report is an important part of a Integrated dual degree (BBA+MBA)
programme and provides an opportunity to a student to demonstrate his/her ability to work
independently on a well-defined problem in a coherent, well-organized and critical manner.
An integrated MBA research project is a critical investigation of a specific problem or issue.
A student needs to demonstrate an innovative, academic approach to problem solving.
The aim of the research project is to produce a major piece of research that advances
knowledge in the subject area of business management. The research project encourages
students to explore areas that have not been investigated previously, ideally incorporating
managerial problems or a business scenario that have important organizational implications.
All students will be allotted supervisors in their respective areas. The student along with the
consent of the supervisor identify the research area based on literature or may be given some
field work. The progress in work shall be monitored by the supervisor and progress seminar
would also be conducted for all the students during this semester.
The general and specific guidelines to complete the project in proper manner are mentioned
in subsequent sections as following.
I. General Guidelines
1. The project report has to be in the printed form with font size 12 Times New Roman with
1.5 spacing. For headings use font size 14. The margins must be 1 inch on all sides.
2. The total length of report, excluding annexure, should be 60 -65 pages (suggested). Keep
in mind that the length is not important, but the content is.
4. Students are required to meet his/her supervisor on regular basis for the discussion and
updating the progress of the research work. Seven times meeting in-person is compulsory
in whole semester. Students who will unable to fulfill this condition may lose some
marks.

5. All students have to submit two hard bound copy (black colour), and a soft copy in the
form of CD (pasted at the last page) of project report to the undersigned. Name of student
and Roll number should be written on the CD or CD cover.
7. Students are required to strictly follow a uniform format for the research project report as
given below:

4. Acknowledgement by Student and duly signed by them
5. Executive Summary
6. List of symbols and abbreviations

9. Introduction to topic
10. Literature review
11. Conceptual Framework (Optional)
12. Research methodology (Including objectives of the Study)
13. Data Analysis and interpretation
14. Findings and Conclusion
15. Managerial implication/ theoretical implication
16. Suggestions
17. Limitations
18. References (as per attached style)
19. Certificate of plagiarism check
20. Annexure (Data tables and others)
8. The reference material should be listed in the alphabetical order of the first author. The
name of the author/authors should be immediately followed by the year and other details.
A typical illustrative list given below relates to the citation example quoted above.

II. AWARDS/ RECOGNITION:
One best project will be selected for award/recognition. During final presentations one
best project will be recommended by each panel. These shortlisted projects will then be
evaluated by a screening committee. Shortlisted projects will again be presented before
the panel out of which one best will be selected for award/ recognition.
To complete the project within a given time frame students are expected to follow the
given suggestive plan:
Note: If any student fails to follow the aforesaid guidelines he/she will not able to complete
his/her project in this semester.
