DIRECTIONS

Using circular needle, and holding two strands of yarn together, cast on 56 (60) stitches. Join for working in the round,
being careful not to twist stitches; place marker for beginning of round.

PATTERN ROUND (Twisted Rib)

*k1 tbl, p1; rep. from * to end of round.

Repeat this round until hat measures 7.5” from cast-on edge, ending at the marker. Begin decrease sequence for crown.

DECREASE SEQUENCE FOR CROWN

Note: change to double-pointed needles when remaining stitches no longer fit comfortably around circular needle.

Rnd 1: *k2tog tbl, p2tog; rep. from * to end of round—28 (30) stitches remaining.

Rnd 2: *k1 tbl, p1; rep. from * to end of round.

Rnd 3: *k2tog tbl, p2tog; rep. from * to end of round—for size Medium, work final two stitches of round as k1 tbl, p1.—14
(16) stitches remaining.

Rnd 4: *k1 tbl, p1; rep. from * to end of round.

Rnd 5: *k2tog tbl, p2tog; rep. from * to end of round—7 (8) stitches remaining.

FINISHING

Break yarn, leaving a 10” tail. Thread tail through yarn needle and draw through remaining stitches, pulling snugly to
neatly close top of hat. Use the same yarn to attach pom-pom to top of hat. Fasten securely and weave in loose ends on
WS.

Pat yourself on the back for a job well done!

ABOUT COPYRIGHT - LET’S DO WHAT’S RIGHT It may seem harmless, but for every pattern that is purchased by one knitter, then shared
freely with others, there is a real person who feels the loss. Independent designers devote their time, energy, and creativity to publishing
unique, high-quality patterns—for many, it is their livelihood. Pattern sharing hurts real people. It’s time to care. Please don’t share.
