“The Hunger Games trilogy is a post-apocalyptic dystopia set in the small nation of Panem,
which we assume is what is left of livable land in what used to be the USA. Panem is divided
into 12 districts…”
“This first film in the franchise was a grounded, thoughtful and sometimes quite emotional film,
with its dark scenario given due weight. Director Gary Ross didn't give the film a glossy,
romanticized "Hollywood" feel, but rather played everything very realistically and stark. “

In terms of where the adaption of Hunger Games came from the 1987 film Running Man, this
gave Suzanne Collins the inspiration to help adapt to the film, the film follows the same
narrative, the description of the film summerises as:
“In the year 2019, America is a totalitarian state where the favorite television program is "The
Running Man" -- a game show in which prisoners must run to freedom to avoid a brutal death.
Having been made a scapegoat by the government, an imprisoned Ben Richards (Arnold
Schwarzenegger) has the opportunity to make it back to the outside again by being a contestant
on the deadly show, although the twisted host, Damon Killian (Richard Dawson), has no
intention of letting him escape.” This was the basis for the adaption with the mix of the films
intentions.
The book and film were translated into universal languages, with the book covering of 61 international
languages, and still know with J.K Rowling’s adaption of (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them)

two-and-a-half hour running time is bound to provoke some cinema squirming from young viewers.”
In terms of the reviews both cover similar opening credits, giving a brief overview in regards to
plot line, in each the state the book as young “kids book” referring to it content basis reflecting
