Baby Bob won with a greater rate of acceleration.

1. What is another term for negative acceleration and provide an example of it from the article.
Another term for negative acceleration is deceleration. An example of deceleration from the
article is that Baby Will slowed down because he lost his blankie.
2. Which baby in the article had a greater rate of acceleration as compared to the other babies?
Baby Bob had a greater rate of acceleration compared to the other babies.
3. What term and/or phrase did the writer include in the article to imply that (an object) is at rest, as
in it is not moving?
“The contestants are waiting at the start line…” is the phrase that the writer included in the
article to imply that the babies are at rest. This implies that the babies are not moving
before the race.
4. What two pieces of information does the writer include in the article that are irrelevant, as they do
not provide information necessary to solve for speed or acceleration?
“Even the car outside is going only 40 miles per hour! Going at 0.01 miles per hour, the

do not provide information necessary to solve for speed or acceleration?
Two pieces of information that the writer includes in the article that is irrelevant is when
the article says, “Gordon Ramsay, seeing Bobby Flay’s hairline, slows to insult him at a
speed of 5 feet per second”. The other irrelevant information in the article is when it says,
