1. Introduction by the Chairman

 Chairman welcome all the members of English Language
Department for their present and cooperation.
2. Confirmation of previous minutes (2/2017)

Chairman reminded the secretary that the minutes need to be submitted one
week after the meeting.
3. 3.1 Standardising the Record book.
 Yearly and Daily Lesson Plan for Year 1 & Year 2 need to adhere
according to CEFR. (see attachment)
 Yearly Plan and Daily Lesson Plan for Year 3 are still using KSSR
format. The format is as follow:

4. 4.1 Annual Planning Activities

0  To encourage English usage in the school and to improve school
environment with the theme “English Everywhere”.
 English Week with the theme “Fun With English” following the
school program.
 Intervention classes for Year 6 and Year 5 will begin on third week
of January 2017.
 Year 6 is divided into 3 groups - Group A, B & C
 Year 5 is divided into 2 groups – Group A & B

5. 5.1 Analysis for the English Paper of UPSR 2017

 Target for the UPSR 2017 was (school target for this year)
 Percentage achieved for English Paper 1 was , while

 Chairman congratulated all the English teacher for their effort to
strengthen the pupils’ proficiencies in English language.
 The target for 2018 UPSR are:

 Other classes need to achieve their target for English of 60% and
this includes the preschools.
 5.2 ETR and TOV reports for English panel.

5.3 Suggested activities planned in 2018 are:

 English Everywhere
 English Intervention Programme (each class)
 Expose pupils to UPSR formats
 Small group tutoring
 Learn a word a day
 Spelling Bee

6. Other matters:

6.1 Professional Learning Community (PLC)
 PLC for English Panel will be held monthly starting from February.
 All teachers will be the one to be observed.
 The matter will be discussed on the next meeting for PLC when the
submission date is confirmed.

6.2 LINUS
 2018 LINUS 3.0
 Year 1 and 2 teachers do not need to have a separate LINUS LP but
to integrate it in the normal LP. Only Year 3 teacher that still need to
adhere to the previous daily LP.

6.3 Budget
 2017 were well spent.
  2018 budget (RM 620.79) will be used to buy more teaching
materials for English panel.
