PRESENT CONTINUOUS

We use present continuous to describe actions that are happening now.

We make the present continuous with the verb to be+ the main verb+ing.

Most of the times we can find the adverbs: now and at the moment with a present continuous
sentence.

Affirmative Negative Interrogative

I am working (I’m working) I am not working (I’m not working) Am I working?

Rules of spelling:

1. In almost all the verbs we add –ing:

Read: reading

2. Verbs ending with e we eliminate this letter and we put –ing:

Dance: dancing

3. Verbs ending with vowel+consonant we duplicate the consonant and add –ing:

Shop: shopping
