The researches are assigned with their respective groups places for their sampling points.

The researchers, one or two days before the said experiment, visit their sampling point and take

fresh water samples. The apparatuses used for testing the physical parameters of the water

sample are TDS meter, pH meter, colorimeter, conductivity meter and beakers. Most of the

approach used for this experiment are of qualitative one, and not mathematical in obtaining the

necessary data for this experiment.

Water Sampling

The researchers are assigned with their respective groups their sampling points. The

researches then visit their assign sampling area one day or two day prior to the experiment, since
the sample to be used for this experiment should be fresh, around less than 48 hours must have

passed from the time the sample was taken. The sample water was taken in the middle part of the

sampling point using two 1000 mL drinking bottle. First, the bottles are rinsed about three times

using the water sample flowing, and then it is filled carefully, making sure there are no air gaps

inside the bottle. The fresh water sample is then brought to the laboratory in order to conduct

tests for the physical parameters of water. The tests for the physical parameters of water as stated

earlier should be done not beyond 48 hours after the samples are taken. The remaining sample is

then stored inside the refrigerator.

Determination of Physical Water Quality Parameters

a. Determination of the Temperature of the water sample

Ten-mL of the fresh water sample is to be placed in a 100 mL beaker. The thermometer is

then placed in the water. This temperature is then recorded. Repeat this procedure for the

second trial.

Another method is to use the pH meter. The electrode of the pH meter is dipped in the

water sample. Both pH and temperature from the device is recorded.

b. Determination of the pH of the water sample

Ten-mL of the fresh water sample is to be placed in a 100 mL beaker. Rinse the electrode

of the device. The electrode of the pH meter is dipped in the water sample. The pH that is

displayed in the device is recorded.

c. Determination of the Conductivity of the water sample

Ten-mL of the fresh water sample is to be placed in a 100 mL beaker. Rinse the electrode

of the device. The electrode of the conductivity meter is dipped in the water sample. The

conductivity that is displayed in the device is recorded.

d. Determination of the Turbidity of the water sample

The cuvette of the device is thoroughly washed by the water sample twice. The cuvette is

then filled to its half with the water sample. The cuvette is then placed inside the

colorimeter making sure the diamond part is placed in the middle front. The displayed

turbidity in the colorimeter is then recorded.
