UNITY COLLEGE AFTER

PARTY
PERMISSION SLIP
Dear parents, year 12s and guests,

This letter is to advise you about the arrangements for a private gathering
for Unity Colleges Year 12’s and their guests, after the Unity College Formal.

*Please note this is not a school event and is not associated with the school nor
run by the school*

This permission form will state all details of the night and the expectations of the
guests. It is a condition of entry that the parents/caregivers give their consent and
by doing so indicate an understanding of the arrangements.

The Unity Colleges Formal After Party will be held on the 13th of April 2018 and
will commence at 11.30 pm and conclude at 4am.

Entry Fee

- $10
- Consent form and money needs to be placed in a sealed envelope marked
with attendee’s name and given to Sophie Roberts by the 31st of March
2018.

Venue and Transport

The venue is at a private property; the address is 864 Gypsum Rd, Cooke Plains
SA 5261. The venue is approximately 30 minutes from Murray Bridge.

There is no form of transport provided so students must find their own way to the
party. Carpooling is encouraged.

If your child does drive they will be required to hand their keys to a supervising
adult and the keys will be returned in the morning. Note this is only a requirement
if they are drinking.
Accommodation

Due to the venue being a 30-minute drive guests are encouraged to stay the night
at the venue. There is a shed, which guests are more than welcome to stay the
night in in a swag, etc. There is no extra cost to stay the night.

Health and Safety

The safety and security of your children and their invited guests is of paramount
concern. A recognised group of responsible adults will be in charge and
supervising the party at all times and will have the right to remove someone from
the party.

Invitations

All Unity College year 12s and their guests are invited to attend the event. There
are some attendees who aren’t attending the formal who have been invited
through an invite only Facebook group run by a selected group of Unity College
students.

Each attendee must have his/her name checked off the official invitation list prior
to entering the party and will receive a wristband. If at any time someone is found
not to have their wristband on during the party, they may be asked to leave by a
supervising adult.

Alcohol

Alcohol will not be supplied but it is of great importance that parents understand
that there will be alcohol at this event. As the function is being held on a private
property, invitees are permitted to supply their own alcohol for the event. Only
cans will be permitted. If this rule is not followed, their alcohol will be
confiscated.

There is a strict no tolerance for drugs. If any drugs are found on any attendee
they will be removed from the venue immediately.

It is important that all parents are made aware that alcohol will be consumed with
parent or guardianship consent but the event organisers will not supply alcohol to
your child under any circumstances. With this information in mind, you
may consider your daughters' and sons' attendance at the event.
If you indicate that your child is not allowed to drink they will be issued with a
wristband that indicates they are not allowed to be drinking but please keep in
mind that if your child decides to drink the organisers take no responsibility for
them doing so.

If the conduct of a year 12 or guest is deemed unacceptable, whether due to

their condition, behaviour or seen ill health, a supervisor will telephone the
contact number provided for that person and make arrangements
with their parent/caregiver for their safe retrieval.

Taxis will not be an option in these situations and it is important that all
parents take seriously the responsibility of nominating themselves
or another appropriate adult driver to assist organisers to convey their daughter
or guest home safely if the need arises.

Responsibility

All reasonable steps will be taken by the organisers to ensure that all
the participants in this event enjoy themselves within a safe and secure venue.
Without the goodwill and generosity of the venue hosts and the organisers, this
event would not be possible. Your support and commitment to encourage your
children to act responsibly is an essential part of this endeavour.

Event organisers and or the owners of the venue take no responsibility for underage drinking
or any issues which arise.

Conclusion

Please ensure that both you and your child have read this letter and understand its content. In
order to help avoid unwanted attention, (Gate crashers), please
DO NOT PUBLICISE THESE ARRANGMENTS.

If you do not give your child permission to attend the party please know that
they will not be granted entry.

Attendees please know that it is illegal and a crime to forge anyone’s signature.

Ensure that you check in with her child prior to the event as any
changes/updates will be posted in the Facebook event.
