INTRODUCTION

Agribusiness defined as a business sector which includes farming and farming related
commercial activities. Agribusiness is closely related to the marketing industries that are
essential to transform, transport, and transfer food to the consumer. In addition, farming is
served by a large number of industries that manufacture and distribute durable goods and
other farm supplies used in agriculture. Farmers are buying more of their inputs rather than
using farm produced inputs. These inputs include fertilizers, feed, petroleum products, farm
machinery, chemicals, and other farm supplies and services. Food processors are the link
between farmers and food wholesalers and retailers. There are processing firms that add form
utility to the raw farm product. For example, the transformation of sugar cane and super beets
into sugar and wheat into bread. Food wholesalers link food processors with retailers who sell
directly to consumers and institutional outlets. A retail food chain is a group of stores owned
and operated by the same firm. The major impact of the retail chain store movement was on
wholesale operations. Chain stores combined wholesaling with retailing, and to a lesser
extent, processing, and were able to lower costs. Agribusiness is an important component of
countries with arable land since agricultural products can be exported.

Green World Genetics is a company which has been working on producing quality seeds for
a range of tropical hybrid crops that include maize for feed or grain corn, sweet corn, melon,
cucumber, chilli, tomato, hot pepper, sweet pepper, zucchini and rice. All the seeds produced
by this company are from F1 Hybrid selections. The seed production and breeding
programmes are conducted using biotechnology techniques such as hybridisation and
marked-assisted selection. This company selling all professional seeds which from leady,
fruity and field crops.

 STRATEGIES

The main and core strategy of this company is to develop disease-resistant, high yielding,
superior-tasting tropical tasting sweet corn for popular consumption. To achieve this, this
company has a own Research and Development team at Batu Arang, Rawang farm to do
research for any types of plant before planting for seed purposes. So this will be they key for
their success.

COMMERCIAL SOCIAL ECONOMY

This company is one and only Malaysian company which sells high quality F1 Hybrid seeds.
This company was held a partnership with Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry Malaysia
(MOA) in 2007 to increase the availability of a wide variety of quality seeds and grain corn
farming project.

This partnership helped many Malaysian consumer for their daily lives. Firstly, people started
to use this F1 Hybrid leafy and vegetables seeds to do home gardening which people can
grow vegetables for their daily uses. Secondly, 19 million tonnes of grain were used for food
source for animals in Malaysia.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, agribusiness is playing a good role in our growing high-tech industry.

Companies such as GWG, FGV, MPOB and many more are the examples for agribusiness
production. Farmers with the collaboration from marketing team can develop their
agribusiness in our country as well.
