Lesson Process:

The lesson will begin with a review of music elements. We will review the “I can” statements as
well.
Opening: Show big book and review the story title I Went Walking. Review vocabulary and discuss setting,
character, main idea (plot), and sequence.

Activity: Re-read the story using echoing technique with students. Set up a rhythmic beat and echo story
again. Review
Music vocabulary of rhythm, pattern, and tempo.
Call upon individuals to recall and retell the sequence of characters presented in the story. Allow individuals
to represent characters as keep beat and echo sequence of story.
Closing: Revisit vocabulary as exit ticket to L Arts Groups

Extension: Students can create own sequence of animals in story.


Remediation: Students hold color cards in order of story as visual support.
