On Thursday, January 12th 2017, 3 unidentified men abducted a certain Mary Jane
Arnaiz, a 17 year old student, nearby Alabang Hills Zapote Gate and San Beda College Alabang
where the victim was enrolled in. The said incident occurred between 4:30 to 5:30 in the
afternoon few hours after the class of Mary Jane. Then, around nine’o clock in the evening or
9:00pm the same day, the concerned parents of Ms. Mary Jane Arnaiz already made several
phone calls and text messages to friends, relatives and the authorities in San Beda College
Alabang and the security department of Alabang Hills for any information regarding their
daughter but to no avail.

The next day, Friday January 13 th 2017, the parents went to social media for help by
posting the picture and asking for the possible whereabouts of their daughter to friends,
relatives and other Facebook users. On the same day at 12:00nn, Mrs. Arnaiz, Mary Jane’s
mother received a text message from an unidentified number which reads “Wag kang magalala
sa anak mo, nasa mabuti syang kalagayan”. The mother tried calling the phone number but the
line just kept on ringing. After trying many times to desperately contact the number, Mr. And
Mrs. Arnaiz reported the incident to the Muntinlupa City Police located at Zapote Road,
Alabang, Muntinlupa, 1771 Metro Manila.

Later that night when the parents of Mary Jane got home, a letter was stuck in between
the gap of their gate and it reads “Tita Marjorie and Tito Charlie, naglayas po si Mary Jane sa
inyo dahil ayaw nyo daw po kay Xander (Mary Jane’s boyfriend), nasa Ilocos po sila ngayon kila
Xander pero wala po akong idea kung gaano po sila magtatagal doon” there was no indication
where the letter came from.

Unfortunately, Mr. and Mrs. Arnaiz, have no information about the person named
Xander because of their hate and disgust over the person. They tried to search for any clues
regarding the whereabouts of Xander’s residence over the internet and social media but
without success.

On Saturday, January 14th they availed the services of a private investigator to aid them
in searching for the whereabouts of the residence of Xander.

The break came in four days after they saw the letter, Tuesday, January 17 th, the private
investigator backtracked all the posts of Mary Jane and Xander in Facebook, Instagram and
Tweeter to find clues and eventually saw an important detail posted last October 5, 2016 during
Xander’s birthday which was held in Paoay, Ilocos and their residence is nearby the Fort
Ilocandia Resort, the information was obtained through comments and tagged photos of Mary
Jane and Xander. After immediately getting a lead, on Wednesday, January 18 th, Mr. and Mrs.
Arnaiz went to Paoay, Ilocos together with the help of the local police they went to Xander’s
residence and saw Mary Jane.

When Mary Jane explained her side the abduction incident was staged and the intention
was really an escape against the strict upbringing of her parents and she was planning to live
with Xander in Ilocos, but on Thursday night she woke up to her senses and suddenly she
wanted out but Xander won’t let her. During her stay in Xander’s residence everytime she tried
to escape she was physically maltreated and abused by him.

Bruise and scratches were all over her body. Now the family of Mary Jane Arnaiz is
planning to file a case against Xander for violating Article 267 of the revised penal code which
penalizes kidnapping and serious illegal detention.
