ENG2103 STRUCTURES

CREDIT UNITS: 4CU

LEVEL:SECOND YEAR SEMESTER I STUDENTS OF DCE
COURSE OBJECTIVE:
To introduce students to basic principles of forces or loadings acting on structural
members and their effect/impact on them.

COURSE OUTCOMES:
At the end of this course unit the student should be able to:
 Analyze force acting on the structures
 Eliminate structure failures due to internal stresses and strains.
 Design of simple structures.
 Identify and describe the various forces acting on different structural members.
 Identify the causes of failure of structures under the influence of loads applied
on them.
