ASSIGNMENT QUESTION

The purpose of this assignment is to get the students to describe the important elements in early
childhood curriculum and discuss its implementation in an actual setting.

In order to achieve the purpose, this assignment is divided into two parts as follows:

Part 1:
You are required to identify ONE early childhood or preschool curriculum model in Malaysia. Discuss
the curriculum in terms of aim, principle and approach. You are also required to describe the theory
behind the curriculum. (20 marks)

Part 2:
This part requires you to gather information on the teachers’ actual classroom practice based on the
curriculum you have chosen. Interview TWO teachers and obtain their perceptions about the
curriculum they have implemented. Based on the curriculum principle, approach and theory, discuss
the way teachers interpret and implement this curriculum. Compare between teachers’ actual
classroom practices and the intention or aim of the curriculum. (40 marks)

Compile both parts of your assignment and submit your assignment in one file between between 5th
March 2017 until 19th March 2018.

SOALAN TUGASAN

Tujuan tugasan ini adalah supaya pelajar dapat menjelaskan elemen-elemen penting dalam
kurikulum pendidikan awal kanak-kanak dan membincangkan pelaksanaan kurikulum ini di seting
sebenar.

Bagi mencapai tujuan tersebut, tugasan ini dibahagikan kepada dua bahagian seperti berikut.

Bahagian 1:
Anda dikehendaki mengenal pasti SATU model kurikulum pendidikan awal kanak-kanak atau
prasekolah di Malaysia. Bincangkan kurikulum ini daripada segi matlamat, prinsip dan pendekatan.
Anda juga dikehendaki menjelaskan teori disebalik kurikulum ini. (20 markah)

Bahagian 2:
Bahagian ini memerlukan anda mendapatkan maklumat tentang amalan bilik darjah sebenar guru
berdasarkan kurikulum yang anda pilih. Temubual DUA guru untuk mendapatkan persepsi mereka
tentang kurikulum yang telah mereka laksanakan. Berdasarkan prinsip, pendekatan dan teori
kurikulum, bincangkan cara guru menginterpretasi dan melaksanakan kurikulum ini. Bandingkan
antara amalan bilik darjah sebenar guru dengan tujuan atau pun matlamat kurikulum. (40 markah)

Gabungkan kedua-dua bahagian tugasan anda dan serahkan tugasan anda dalam satu fail antara 5hb
