ETHICAL LEADERSHIP AND CRITICAL DECISION MAKING

SUBMITTED BY: TALWINDER SINGH (C0699563)

Human Rights are considered universally same for the human beings irrespective of Caste,
Color, Religion, Nationality and Language. These rights are interdependent and related to each
other. Human rights follow the principle of respect for each other. The main fundamental
assumption of human rights is that every person should be treated with dignity. But still the
definition of human rights is not clear to the people.

There are several rights which are still not implemented and practiced properly:

1. Right to education: Everyone has the right to get education. Primary education should be
free and accessible to all. In India, there are still many poor people who cannot educate their
children. There are still many schools in India where admissions are denied for not having
birth certificates, not paying school fees and no residence proof.

Solution:

 Report the human rights violation to the Government and United Nation Organization.
 Make people aware of importance of education for children

2. Worker’s Right: Everyone has the right to work. But children should not be forced to work.
In developing countries children below age of 18 are still forced to work in restaurants and
local shops.

Solution:

 Document and report the incident to the trusted organizations working for human rights.
 Make children aware of Human Rights.

3. Food and Shelter for all: Everyone from a young child to an old man has the right to eat
good food and live under shelter. However, poor people are still living near roads under
temporary shelter. People cannot afford hygienic food because of high prices.

Solution:

 Temples and social service communities should take steps in providing free food to poor
people.
 Involve public for donations.
4. Right to Democracy: Everyone has the right to elect their own leader of choice and
participate in government activities. However, In Pakistan many people were arrested for
demanding democracy which is clear violation of human rights.

Solution:
 Report the serious issues to UNO.
 Government policies should be revised for human rights.
5. Freedom of Religion: Every person has the right to choose any religion. However, In North
Korea people are forced and manipulated for their religious beliefs.

Solution:

 Religion represents culture and heritage of a country so it is the duty of government to

protect the freedom of religion.
 Religious groups should notify these types of issues to UNO.

6. Copyright Law: Everyone has the right to protect his/her own artistic creations and writings.
However, there are many countries where piracy is a major issue.

Solution:

 Strict laws should be adopted to deal with piracy.

 Proper security methods should be used.

7. No Discrimination: Everyone should be treated equally and there should be no

discrimination on the basis of caste, religion and sex. However, In India government has
special reservation of jobs for minority quota.

Solution:

 Design equal policies for everyone.

 Media should take issue to Human Rights Organizations.

8. Freedom to Move: We all the rights to move to any part of the world. However, some
countries do not allow people to come and get settled permanently.

Solution:

 UNO should interfere for global acceptance of this law.

 Every person on earth should be given right to move to any part of earth.
9. Right to life: We all have right to live and enjoy our life. However, many countries still
execute people to death for crimes.

Solution:

 Death penalty should be abolished.

 Jail for lifetime can be the alternative method.

10. The Right to Public Assembly: We all have the right to join any group or to leave any
group. But, some political parties force and manipulate people to join them. They offer
money to poor people to vote for them.
Solution:
 Aware camps for poor people regarding human rights
 Design of Strict polices for these types of activities.
