Objectives
Understand basics of computers, computer operating systems, C languages and computer
application systems. Use Internet and database to retrieve useful biological information.
Synopsis
This subject introduces students to computer operating systems, survey of programming languages
and programming in C, and use of computers in biological system modeling. Students are exposed to
the use of internet and various databases as sources of biological information. During the lab sessions,
students will be given hands-on practical experience.
Mode of Assessment
Continuous Assessment: 30% (Tests 15%, Lab reports 15%)
Final Examination : 70% (Practical 20%, Theory 50%)
