Press Release
New Author, Tiffanie Minnis, sheds light on domestic violence from a male’s Perspective in her
upcoming novel, ~D.I.V.A~ - Domestically Involved in Violent Affairs.

Atlanta, Georgia 2010 - When we hear of domestic violence, we get an automated vision in mind of a battered
woman looking for a way to escape her current situation. Tiffanie Minnis‘s upcoming novel, ~D.I.V.A.~, is far
from what we see in the newspapers or in the media. She takes her experience of being in volatile relationships
and shares with the world a hushed taboo subject that is rarely discussed, women and the men they verbally /
physically abuse.

~D.I.V.A.~ is about a young woman who suffered family abuse and violence in her adolescent years. In turn,
she becomes a domestic abuser in her adult life. “The hurt she experiences and eventually inflicts upon others,
oozes off the page, forcing the reader to identify with her and hope that, by the time the final page is turned, you
pray that Michaela will find not only the love for others but more importantly, the love for herself” says Benjamin
Jones, Author of “H.U.B. Volume 1 & 2”.

We all know the saying “It starts at home” when we analyze the behaviors and characteristics of individuals. If
you are showered with love and praise as a child, you tend to lead a much more fulfilling life with the knowledge
of how to treat and love others. On the downside, when you grow up in a home where you are mistreated and
abused, you are more likely to be filled with anger and mistreat others while finding yourself in troublesome
situations.

In no way is her novel insinuating that a man who allows a woman to abuse them verbally/physically is weak. In
no way is her novel condoning that abuse from either male or female is acceptable. In the contrary, her novel
should be used as a guide to recognize that hurt by the form of a fist or malice words is not justifiable by what
we may have experienced as a child.

Not knowing how to love keeps us from seeking the love of God, who is the master of transformation. No matter
how broken we are from past experiences, when we chose to seek God’s face and the love he has for us all, we
find ourselves understanding why we are placed in certain situations and how to overcome our demons by
transforming and using our story as a testimony. This is where Tiffanies’ story of testimony comes in. Not only is
she writing her novel as a form of therapy but she also feels that the world will be able to view love differently with
a new found respect for love in relationships.

If abuse and hurt is all you know and is your main resource for coping, then your transformation can not be done
alone. As Tiffanie quotes “You must fast and faithfully seek God and his love in order to know what love REALLY
feels like. In order to know love and give love, we must first experience God’s love.”

Praise from Readers

~DI.V.A~Domestically Involved in Violent Affairs
~D.I.V.A.~ Domestically Involved in Violent Affairs, the debut novel by Tiffanie Minnis, is a powerful emotional
tour-de-force and impressive piece of work. Told through the eyes of Michaela Davis, ~D.I.V.A.~ tells the story
of how an abused child grows up to be a woman who abuses men, detesting everything about them.

The instant you start reading you can't help but root for Michaela. Seemingly from the second she was born, her
life has been filled with dirt, muck, and chaos, corrupting her innocence and turning her into a monster. The hurt
she experiences and eventually inflicts upon others, oozes off the page, forcing the reader to identify with her
and hope that, by the time the final page is turned, you pray that Michaela will find not only the love for others
but, more importantly, the love for herself.

~D.I.V.A.~ is a must read and I look forward to the next work that Ms. Minnis comes out with.

-- Benjamin Jones, Author of H.U.B. Volume 1 & 2

~D.I.V.A~ Book Excerpt

INTRODUCTION
My name is Michaela Davis and I am a domestic abuser. I was born in the October Fall of 1979 and raised in
Miami, Florida by my mother and Granny. I had a really fucked up life growing up as a child and if I don’t take
the time out to write about the shit, I think I just may lose my damn mind and really hurt someone. This story is
about my life growing up as a child into my adult years dealing with trying to mask the invisible pain that
ultimately transpired into me taking it out on my loved ones. I’m a five figure professional in Corporate America.
My Masters degree in Management led me to a promising career as a Healthcare Billing Manager for one of the
best doctors in Atlanta. My slanted hazel brown eyes and nice ample lips are my best physical assets which
doesn‘t make me a bad catch. I stand about 5’9 weighing in at 150 pounds which are proportioned throughout
my wide hips and big yet muscular legs. My soft and very fine loopy “S” curls reaches down to the middle of my
back and is traced with golden bronze highlights and matches well with my medium golden under toned skin. I
always keep a pleasant smile on my face and I have a sweet personality outside of home. But behind those
closed doors, I am considered a Terrorist. I terrorize, verbally abuse and pour salt on open wounds of the men
that enter my life. I detest everything about a man. The way he strides, smell, speak with a mouth full of ass
smelling lies and the way they fuck. I only deal with them to break their souls the same way mine was broken.
Is it retaliation? Yeah, you can say that. Do I like women you ask? Hell No!! I can’t stand their asses either. I stay
far away from those adulteress whores that sleep around for money and end up with a panty crouch full of oozing
green discharge, or should I say cum. I’m in this big world all alone because I trust no one. I don’t have respect
for men because they do not respect themselves. So I pull them in by giving my best academy award winning
smile and once they start to play with my fire, that’s when I go in with a scorching burn! I know I know, I sound
evil and you probably wish you could just reach out and shake me like the baby shaking syndrome but do I care:
Not one bit. My therapist would be so disappointed by what I am saying because I’m suppose to be in remission
of this terrible disease I have, but this is a big part of me. Just say I was the good apple surrounded by a spoil
bunch that eventually corrupted my core. Those therapy sessions help a little though. I’m starting to see the good
in some people but I have yet to find the good in me. So until that good emerges, I feel sorry for the suckers that
cross my path. Enough about me. You’ll get to know me a little better as you glance through my past and present
process of my developed character. I warn you to not be alarmed. This is my story.

Please tell a little about yourself.

Tiffanie Minnis: My name is Tiffanie Minnis. I'm 28 with 2 young children ages 8 and 2. I was born and raised in
Miami, Fl but I currently reside in Atlanta,Ga. I'm a Medical Billing Specialist by day but mother and writer by
night.

When did you know you wanted to become a writer and when did you begin to
write?

Tiffanie Minnis: I began writing music my junior year in high school and I was into it very heavy. I recorded a
few songs and completed a few ghost writing projects for some friends. From the age of 16 I knew that a career
surrounded by writing would be in my future path. I always thought it would be music but after having my kids I
didn't have as much time for it anymore. I recently became a writer of literary because It allows me to exercise a
different side of my creativity with words.

What motivated you to write ~D.I.V.A~, the book?

Tiffanie Minnis: After so many years of dealing with family and domestic violence, I decided to write a story
about my dealings with it. It's a bit of a taboo subject because my book sheds light on women that are verbally
and physically abusive towards their male mate.

Is there a specific message in your book that you want readers to grasp?
Tiffanie Minnis: I'm praying that my story will change the way men/women love each other in relationships. I
want women to realize that when we have a man the truly loves us, we must embrace that love and encourage
them instead of trying to break them down with our words and our fist by taking advantage of the system
knowing that the law will be on our side just because we are women.

How long did it take you to complete ~D.I.V.A~?

Tiffanie Minnis: Still working on it. It's due to be released October 20, 2010, if all goes well.

Page 9
Tiffanie Minnis
What genre(s) do you write?

Tiffanie Minnis: Creative nonfiction.

How do you balance your family, writing, business, and other obligations?

Tiffanie Minnis: I try my best to write on the weekends when my kids are gone or at night when they are asleep.
But I will admit that I try to squeeze a bit of everything in if time permits at specific moments, even at work.
( that’s a no no ;-)

How have your loved ones supported you in your writing ventures?

Tiffanie Minnis: My family really doesn't know about the depth of my writing. They just know that I'm writing a
book. I'm hoping that they will understand my purpose and be supportive once the book has been released.

So tell us about your road to publication.

Tiffanie Minnis: I'm looking to self-publish so I've been doing lots of research on different companies to see
which one will fit the criteria of my needs/wants. So far, LuLu is on top of the list.

What advice would you give to an aspiring writer?

Tiffanie Minnis: Write, Research, Write, Read, Write, Support other writers, Write, Network, and WRITE!

So, what’s next for you as an author?

Tiffanie Minnis: I plan on working on a sequel to D.I.V.A., A Writers Movement collaboration novel, and a book
of short stories and then possibly starting a publishing company. But honestly, God is steering the wheel so
where ever he leads me I shall follow his lead. Bless!

Closing Message from Tiffanie Minnis

“Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath” Proverbs 29:8

Proverbs is my favorite book in the bible. It is the book of wisdom and knowledge. When we don’t ask God to
bless our minds with wisdom and knowledge, we end up doing things on our terms which is a remedy for failure.

Our knowledge comes from what we see and experience. In order to be equipped with the right knowledge, we
must seek God and ask him, without ceasing, to give us the proper knowledge in order to make the right moves
and decisions in life. This also means asking Him for the knowledge of love in order for us to wisely and
appropriately love others.

If you find yourself being abusive or constantly ending up in abusive relationships, its time for you to build a
strong one on one relationship with God. If its life threatening, seek help at one of the many anonymous
agencies that is more then willing to help you escape your situation. But during the transition, continue to fast
and seek God’s love.

Blessings!
