CROCHET FOR 6x6 a 4.25mm was
used.
You can use any yarn and hook size for desired size.
Pattern
Pick 4 colors that you would like to make your spiral with. We will call them A, B,
C and D remember the first color you work with, so you know when you are back
at beginning or use a stitch marker.
Round 1
Taking color A, chain 4, Sl st into first chain made to form loop, then *crochet 1
SC, 1HDC, 2DC into the center of your loop* remove your hook and taking Color
B Repeat from * to* remove hook and taking color C Repeat from * to * remove
hook taking color D Repeat from * to *, remove hook.
Round 2
Go back to color A and *crochet 2DC in next st (working into color B – should
be 4 stitches), 1DC in next st, 2DC in next st, skip last st for now, remove hook*
and repeat from * to* for colors B, C, and D, remove hook.
Round 3
Go back to color A and * crochet 2DC in next st, 1 DC in next 3 sts, 2DC in next
st, skip last st for now, remove hook* repeat from * to * for B,C, and D, remove
hook.
Round 4
Go back to A and *crochet 2DC in next st, 1DC in next 5 sts, 2DC in next st, skip
last st for now, remove hook* repeat from * to * for B, C, and D, remove hook.
Round 5
Go back to color A and *crochet 2DC in next st, 1DC in next 7 sts, 2DC in next st,
skip last st for now, remove hook* repeat from * to * for B, C, and D, remove
hook.
Round 6
Go back to color A and *crochet 2DC in next st, 1DC in next 9 sts, 2DC in next st,
skip last st for now, remove hook* repeat from * to * for B, C, and D, remove
hook.
You can continue this pattern to make your square bigger if you like, just add
two sts on each side, so for example the next round you would work 1dc in next
9 sts, and the next round 11 sts. Just make sure to crochet 2dc in the first and
last st, skipping 1 st at the end just for that round.

Finishing (same for all sizes!)

Go back to A and *crochet 2dc in next st, 1dc in next st, 1hdc in next st, 1sc in
next st, sl st in next st, remove hook* repeat from * to * for B, C and D, fasten off
all yarns and sew in your tail ends.

Optional Squaring off/Boarder

For the corners count back 9 sts from the end of the previous rnd end using that
color and then slp st, sc, hdc, dc, 3dc, ch2, 3dc, dc, hdc, sc, slp st, slp st. After
all 4 corners are done, finish with a sc all the way around and finish off.
