Dear Prospective and Returning Sienna Stallions Parents:

During past seasons, some parents have been surprised with certain aspects of the Fort
Bend Youth Football program, particularly when compared with other youth sport
experiences. Thus, the purpose of this letter is to give new parents (and to remind
returning parents) of what they and their child can expect if they choose to play football.

Due to its physical and competitive nature, football may not be a suitable sport for all
children. Football will likely be more intense and require more commitment than any
sport your child has played thus far. If your child has not yet participated in a sport,
remember football is a contact sport that requires hard work and physical effort from
each child while also requiring a time and volunteer commitment from the parents.
The Sienna Stallion franchise is a member of the Fort Bend Youth Football League
(FBYFL). The FBYFL is not a recreational but is rather a competitive league. Thus, our
franchise and coaches will put forth the commitment and effort to ensure that our kids
learn the necessary skills and discipline to become competitive football players. We
strive to teach each child the necessary fundamentals, but not every child learns at the
same pace, and thus, some children may learn and advance more quickly. Each child
will be given the attention and instruction to learn football, but coaches will assign
children to a specific position. Some parents may come to the Stallions program with expectations that their
child will play one of the "glamour" positions. However, position decisions are made by the
coaching staff based on the best interest of the team. If you are adamant about your
child playing a specific position, please consider an individual sport or contact another
franchise regarding your situation. It is not our intention to place one child ahead of another; however, we
must reiterate that some children will get more playing time due to varied abilities and the
competitiveness of the league. The FBYFL has a minimum play rule (10 plays for
freshmen and sophomores; 12 plays for juniors and seniors). After a team fulfills the
minimum play numbers, coaches are under no obligation to playa child in excess of
these requirements. Please understand that player positions and playing time, beyond
the minimum requirements, are coaching staff decisions.

As many of you are aware, football is a complex and highly coordinated sport, which requires a considerable
amount of practice time. Practices are 90 minutes long, and the Stallions will practice 5 days per week
during the first and second weeks of the season, 4 days per week during the third and fourth weeks of the
season, and 3 days per week through the remainder of the season and during the playoffs. Due to the
practice time commitment, we strongly recommend that children do not play other organized sports
during football season.

Most parents and children have found their Stallions' football experience to be very
positive as shown by the high percentage of returning players and the significant interest
we receive each year from potential newcomers. We simply ask that prospective and returning parents
consider the above information, objectively evaluate their child, and ascertain whether
this is the right sport for your child. Above all else, the Stallions franchise desires a positive experience for
each child and parent, but we recognize that football and the associated team-driven rules, guidelines,
commitment and discipline are not for everyone.
