15 Honors Sonnet
The bug will die and fall into thy coffee mug,
And it’s shape and form will not stay the same;
And now you’ll always wonder, how in the world did thou come to be?
Reflection
In this sonnet I chose the famous couple Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley-Potter because I am a
big fan of the Harry Potter series and I know them best. The tone of the sonnet is negative
because I don’t like Harry and Ginny together, I believe that the whole relationship was forced
and not formed naturally, for the same reasons I also do not like Ron and Hermione together.
The poem emphasizes how lifeless and tasteless the relationship is compared to how Harry and
Ginny could be when they are not together. In this poem I only used one or two different
humorous devices, those being exaggeration and similes. As short and simple as it seems, this
poem was actually really challenging to write. I experienced what is called “writer’s block”
while writing and had to google and go to friends who are part of the Harry Potter Fandom for
inspiration. Even with the challenges I loved this activity because it gave me a chance to join
