Back Allocation Wizard

Step 1: Select Data Source

What information do we get from this page

1. Name of the table that we are pulling information from


- Restrictions on source table
- Must have a join type of Date, Days, or Depth
- Must have at least one numeric field (can’ t break down text data)
- Can’ t be a Ram, System, or Required table

2. Columns that we want to break down


- Restrictions on column list
- Must be numeric
- Must be set to join type NONE
- Can’ t be a Ram column

3. Item type of the source data


- Determined by primary join type

What information do we get from this page

1. Data range that we will be working with


Step 3: Factor Source

What information do we get from this page

1. If the factors are dependant or not on date (days, depth)

2. What table contains the allocation factors that will be used to break the information
down
- Restrictions on factor table list
- If the source table contains Pattern data then the Pattern Configuration option
under Factor type will become active and if selected the currently mapped
PatConfig table will be used
- If the factor type is constant then the table can not have a resolution join type
- If the factor type is dynamic then the table must have a resolution join type
- The table must have the same item type as the data source from step 1
- The table must have 1 other item type besides the item type in the data source

3. Item type to be broken down into


- Determined by the looking at the selected factor table and using the other item type
that is available
- If Pattern Configuration is selected then the item type is set to Well
Step 4: Factor Mapping

What information do we get from this page

1. What factors to use with which streams


- If the Factor Type from step 3 is Pattern Configuration then this step is skipped and
the pattern factor is applied to all selected columns
- Note: Factor Stream list is restricted to numeric static columns (not ram)
Step 5: Target Options

What information do we get from this page

1. Whether or not we are building to an existing table or intend on creating a new table to
house the data that is back allocated
Step 6: Table Selection

What information do we get from this page

1. Name of the table that we are saving the new data in


- If the target option is ‘new’then the user is prompted for a new table name and
description
- If the target option is ‘existing’then the user is presented with a list of tables
containing the target item type and resolution column (if not using constant factors)
