EIT IN GROUND FORCES

Electronic engineering technology has been in army since the first inventions in electroenginering, and it
is one of most important military feature from 19th i 20th century. To this day, military technology has
developed in many ways, mostly in the second half of 20th century. Most important inventions are tank,
military aeroplanes, radar etc. And they have changed a warfare so drastically, and today is impossible
to find military groups or armies without electroenginering technology. Nowadays, there is a big market
of military technology that is operating every day, and it is expanding quickly all over the world.

RADAR

One of first and biggest invention is radar, a device that can recognise object on ground, air and sea
using radio waves or infrared light, it was firstly used in World War Two, for defenses. The radar send
impuls to the object and after reflecting of it, it goes back to radar, and it „draws“ the object's position
on radar screen. Today is esential part of military engineering. Today it is primary used for navigation
and detecting other objects and also in civil service.

LASER

Other invention is laser that uses electrical source to make a light or infrared light or beam for easier
targeting at day and especially at night. It had become a essential part of military weapons and vehicles.
It was popularized in 1960s by US Army, and today is used in Spec Ops, military vehicles, and ground
forces.

TARGETING SYSTEM

Another invention is targeting system for vehicles and artillery, that uses infrared red light or recognizes
object and target by thermo-devices and targets them. This is relatively new technology, and it has been
used since 1976 and it has been constantly developed. Almost all tanks, military vehicle and artillery
weapon have a thermo-targeting device, which makes easier to lock on the target.

METAL DETECTOR

There is also a metal detector, one of most important inventions that was redone in World War One for
recognizing mines. It was more developed and popularized in 1940s and 1950s. It uses electric source
for detecting mines, with oscillator which produces alternative electric field using alternative currenctly,
and when is a metal near the instrument, a detector produces noise or it changes it value on device
screen.

MILITARY ROBOT

Newest invention is the military robot. They started as allowance for other machines and engineers, but
shortly after they developed as autonomous robots or remote-controlled mobile robots, whose primary
objective is transport, search, rescuing, detecting, defending and attacking. For example, there are
teletanks (tank that is operated through radio) and robot-warrior (an autonomous robot with function
of a soldier). This is fastest developing device in military.

To conclude, the electronic enginnering has changed military drastically in last 70 years, and its develop
is going on even today. Every minute, something new is developed and invented and technology has
become essential part of military development and every-day military use. The military technology
world is quickest expanding market and electronic engineers and are essential for better development.
