SWC Lesson Reflection (Completed after EVERY lesson taught)

Select (S):
Identify a lesson and what standards are you addressing

I taught today Math lesson “counting” for KG2 children, I start the lesson by counting the small balls and
put them inside the box, then I showed them the flash cards that include numbers till 10 and say the
numbers with repeat it with the students, it was a short beginning. Then, we move to the activity by saying
each student name and choose a group for him.

Describe (D):
Who is the lesson for?
Where did the lesson take place?
What were you trying to achieve in your lesson?
What did the students do?

- The lesson was for KG2 students, the lesson was in the circle time area and the corners. My goal
was to let the students know what is the numbers and how to count from 1 to 10. In this lesson the
students were excited to do the activities, there are just 2 boys that they were noisy in the circle
time but the teacher helped me to control them.

Analyze (A):
Why do you think the students responded the way that they did?
How well did your teaching relate to the students’ prior understanding?
How well did you engage the students?

- The students like the activities because it was new things “activities”, students know some of the
numbers before in the KG1 so they were having a knowledge about it and they were participating
with me when I asked them. I engage the students in the circle area with counting the small balls
with them, I think in the next time I can choose one student that help me in counting the balls.

Appraise (A):
Explain the nature of the experience from the students’ perspective
Did your lesson meet your teaching goals?

- The lesson meet my teaching goal because they know and understand how to count the numbers at
the end of the lesson, I observed the in the activities and I assess them at the end of the lesson so I
see that they learned from this lesson and I meet my goal.
Transform (T):
How might you enhance student learning of this lesson in the future?
What are the implications for your professional practice?

- In the future I might let some children help me in the circle area and create new activity to engage
them more, I think I should put a counting song for them to let them be more excite, children like
the music. Day by day I learned more strategies from the English and the Arabic teachers they
help me a lot.
