Victor Moraru (b. 07.08.1953) is full professor, doctor habilitatus in political sciences
(2001), scientific coordinator (General Director) of The Division of Social Sciences and
Economics of Academy of Sciences of Moldova and leading researcher and full professor of
the Centre of Political Sciences and International relation of the Institute of Legal and Political
Research of Academy of Sciences of Moldova. He has published more than 300 works -
books, articles, translations (published in Chisinau, Rome, Madrid, Moscow, Brussels, Sankt-
Petersburg, Bucharest, Iasi, Sibiu, Galati, Minsk). He has been researching various aspects of
mass media as political matter, importance of social sciences in globalized world, media and
society, theories of mass communication, political journalism. He was involved in a number of
national and international projects since 1994, such as “BrainNet Working Project” (AENEAS
Programme of European Comission, Coordinated by „La Sapienza University”, 2007-2010,
responsible for moldavian part); „The valorization of the european option of Republic of
Moldova (Institut of Legal and Political Studies of Academy of Sciences of Moldova, 2011-
2014); Project “freedom of the press” (2005) – sponsored by UNESCO; research project of the
faculty of journalism „The state of the press” (2004) - with the support of Soros Foundation);
Didactical project of the faculty of journalism „Radio-connexions” (2004) - with the support of
Soros Foundation; Jointed Project of Faculty of Journalism of Chisinau and Ecole Superieure
de journalisme de Lille (France) “The pedagogy of the journalism training” (2003-2004) –
sponsored by French Embassy; Master programme in „Public relations in the Management of
