A publication for
the hospitality industry
The global environmental certification program for the travel and tourism
industry was developed in 1996 by three international organizations: the Greening the whiteboard:
World Travel & Tourism Council, the World Tourism Organization and the
leading practices
Earth Council. These organizations jointly launched an action plan entitled
“Agenda 21 for the Travel & Tourism Industry: Towards Environmentally Lodging companies have an increasing number of
