Ask and answer questions about facts, origin, location, etc. using the simple present tense.
Family members vocabulary
Jobs and occupations
Possession with apostrophe
Possessive adjectives
TEACHING AIDS/MATERIALS The instructor will require the following:
Ss’ book, whiteboard, markers, eraser, laptop, projector, CD player, textbook.

STEPS AND PROCEDURES


# ACTIVITY TIME
1  Give Ss’ their quizzes back. Day 1
 Review questions with the simple present tense with do and that.
 Ss’ are given a worksheet to work on the simple present tense
 Review of jobs and occupations, places where they are held and the activities they do.
 Reading comprehension with simple present questions about jobs.
 Introduction of articles and some exercises.
 As homework, students are going to prepare a short speech in which they talk about
their family members occupations.
2  Short presentation about family member’s occupations. Day 2
 Introduction and exercises about the possessive adjectives and possessive pronouns.
 Exercises about possessive adjectives and pronouns.
 Introduction of the possessive with apostrophe.
 Exercises regarding possession with apostrophe.
 Ss’ work on pages 24.
 As homework, students will carry out a presentation of a celebrity. They have to talk
what he or she does and talk about his or her family.
3  Presentation of a celebrity. Day 3
 Reading comprehension of a celebrity. This is going to be a question battle.
 Students work on page 26.
 Students are given specific situations from which they spontaneously create a dialog.
 Students work on page 27. Then they share their information with the rest of the
class.
4  Students work on the wrap up on page 28. If they still have doubts regarding the Day 4
content, explain until they are clear enough.
 Students are asked questions about a family tree.
 Ss’ have a grammar and vocabulary quiz on unit 3.
