NOTAMS

The basic purpose of a NOTAM is to disseminate information in advance of an

event.. Details of NOTAM origination are contained in AIP GEN 3.1.3.6.

NOTAM are distributed in three series:

Series A NOTAM containing information of concern to long- or medium-

range flights, and given selected international distribution.

Series B NOTAM containing full information on all aerodromes / heliports,

facilities and procedures available for use in international civil
aviation and given international distribution to adjacent states only

Series C NOTAM containing information of concern to aircraft other than

those engaged in international civil aviation and given national
distribution only.

NOTAMS are distributed via the AFTN, electronically.

AIC

Aeronautical Information Circulars are notices containing information that does

not qualify for the issue of a NOTAM or inclusion in the AIP, but concerns flight
