SHIVLINGA AND NUCLEAR REACTOR

FEBRUARY 12, 2015

Lord Shiva who is considered as the God of Destruction and as well as Creation is a classic example of
symbolizing the study of nuclear physics and nuclear energy in a form that could be understood by common
man. To understand this, let us review some of the characteristics of Shiva

Shiva is called Bholenaath (the naïve one) who grants all the wishes of his disciples. He is often depicted as
performing a special form of dance called the Tandav Nritya or the Cosmic Dance. Now let us now
compare this to nuclear or atomic energy. This form of energy is one of the most efficient forms of
energies which will, just like Bholenath, help resolve all the energy problems of the world, whether it is
used to light up cities, power cars and automobiles or launch spaceships. This energy is always there at
our disposal and could literally grant all our wishes.

Now let us review the characteristics of Shiva Ling which is the symbol of Shiva. No other symbol or
construction could come closer to the construction of a nuclear reactor than the Shiv Ling. The Shiva
Ling is made up of 2 parts – a cylindrical structure made of smooth black stone and the grooves around
the cylinder with a characteristic spout. A pot of water hangs over the cylinder which drips water on the
cylinder at a continuous pace. This water flows out through the spout of the grooves circling the cylinder.
Only in Shiva’s temple, this water is not consumed as tirtha (holy water) as also no one is allowed to cross
the spout during the Pradakshina.
Now let us examine how this structure to that of a nuclear reactor. The cylindrical structure exactly resembles
the cylinder of a modern day nuclear reactor. The pot of water hanging above resembles the water needed to
cool down the reactor as it heats up during the energy generation process. The grooves around the cylinder
represent the structures built to dispose the polluted water from the reactor. This water is not consumed exactly
for the same reason – it is polluted with radiations and nuclear waste.

SHIVA THE GREATEST SCIENTIST OF HIS TIME

Check out this picture of Shiva.

Observing the Shiv Lingam people have tried to resemble it with different things but the closest it.

Comes to resemble is the Nuclear Reactor in shape and under the conditions it is kept.

Nuclear Reactors are usually Dome shaped and has a platform it rests upon similar to the lingam, Also notice
that the Shiv Ling always have water dropping on it which is the same conditions a nuclear reactor is kept.

Shiva is considered as a Creator and Destructor at the same time. Nuclear energy is constructive and destructive
at the same time.

Shiva Temples are always built near water bodies same conditions apply for a Nuclear Plant.
The water flowing from the lingam is not used as prasad giving the indication that the water is contaminated and
should flow away.

This is just another way of looking at the Hindu Gods. The one that fascinates me the most is Shiva…. I have
always seen him as the Greatest Scientist of his time. This is an attempt to give reasons to my opinion on Shiva
the Great Scientist.

Before I start giving reasons ..I would like my readers to think of a Airplane. Since we all have seen a airplane
its quiet easy to imagine it right. Now try explaining it to a person who has never seen one, obviously it would
be something like a bird with people sitting on it… that is what will be the imagination of a person who has
never seen it before.

Keeping the above example in mind think of all Ramayan and Mahabharata stories. This I will cover in other
articles in detail. Right now my focus is Shiva.

Shiva is considered to be the most powerful as well as the most destructive God or Deity. There are 3 different
ways Shiva is portrayed.

1. As a person with snake in his neck with a Damroo and Trishul in his hands and Ganga flowing from
his Head.
2. As Shiv Ling
3. Nataraja
The Story of Shiva is he is married to Parwati and has 2 sons Ganesh and Subramanium.
The part of history that attracted me to Shiva and actually got me going on this subject is about him putting a
head of Elephant on his son Ganesha and a Goat head for this Father-in-Law. Ganesha story most people know
but the story of Himavat is in the Amar Chitra Katha , it goes like this that Shiva was invited to a yajna to
Himavat’s palace and while Shiva was seated Himavat didn’t look at him and so Shiva got angry and cut off his
head and after seeing Parvati crying for her father he put a Goat head to Himavat and saved his life.
Replacing heads at 2 different occasions makes Shiva the greatest Surgeon of his times.

When we talk about Thomas Edison this is the kind of picture people paint for this great scientist who gave us
the light Bulb.

So when someone makes an invention they are remembered not only by their face or picture but also a picture of
their invention is added to their picture profile.
You might ask what I am getting at. Here it comes….. If Shiva was the greatest Scientist of his times then his
picture should also show a symbol or a picture of his inventions right. That’s how human mind portrays things.

“LINGAM” IS ONE OF THE MOST MISUNDERSTOOD MOTIFS OF

HINDUISM”
“Lingam” is one of the most
misunderstood motifsof Hinduism. It has been subject to such a bad smear campaigning by Westerners,
especially missionaries, which even Merriam-Webster dictionary defines it as a stylized phallic symbol. The
expression ‘linga’ in the Agama context signifies ‘symbol’ (chinha). Derived from the root ‘ligi gatyau’, it refers
to movement, and words having been movement as their etymological meaning have also connotations of
knowledge (‘sarve gatyarthah jnanarthah’). Linga therefore means that by which the Divine is cognized or

approached (‘lingyate jnayate anena iti lingam’).

The Agama texts also bring out another valid explanation for the word ‘linga’: linga in its primary sense is
broken up into ‘ling’ (to dissolve, to get merged, to destroy) and ‘ga’ (to emerge, to go out). Linga is so called
because all phenomena are dissolved in Siva at the time of cosmic dissolution, and it emerges from Siva once
again at the time of creation. (Ajitagama, 3, 16-17).

Thus Shiva Linga represents the mark of the cosmos.

Swami Vivekananda gave by far the best rebuttal to Western claims that it might be a symbol of phallic
worship, by giving proof from the vedas.
Swami Vivekananda gave a lecture at the Paris Congress of the History of Religions in 1900 during which he
refuted the statements of some Western scholars that referred to Shiva linga as phallic worship. Vivekananda’s
words at the congress were in connection with the paper read by Mr.Gustav Oppert, a German Orientalist, who
tried to trace the origin of the Shalagrama-Shila and the Shiva-Linga to phallicism. To this Vivekananda
objected, adducing proof from the Vedas, and particularly the Atharva-Veda Samhita, to the effect that the
Shiva-Linga had its origin in the idea of the Yupa-Stambha or Skambha—the sacrificial post, idealized in Vedic
ritual as the symbol of the Eternal Brahman.

Swami Sivananda, also explains why equating Siva Lingam with the phallus is a mistake. According to him,
“This is not only a serious mistake, but also a grave blunder. In the post-Vedic period, the Linga became
symbolical of the generative power of the Lord Siva. Linga is the differentiating mark. It is certainly not the sex-
mark. You will find in the Linga

Purana:
“Pradhanam prakritir yadahur-lingamuttamam;
Gandhavarnarasairhinam sabda-sparsadi-varjitam”
The foremost Linga which is primary and is devoid of smell, colour, taste, hearing, touch, etc., is spoken of as
Prakriti (Nature).”
Bana lingam (One kind of Shiva linga) The Bana Lingam is a most Sacred Symbol and Divine Energy Tool,
both in the ancient and in this modern world. The Bana Lingas are Swayambhu Shiva Lingas that have taken
shape in the Sacred Narmada River, in the Central Western part of India. This is why the Bana Lingams are also
known as the Narmada Banalingas or Narmadeshwar Shiva Lingas.TheNarmadha Bana Lingas became very
famous throughout the world, after the film “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” was screened : this is the
very same Sacred Stone that they were searching for .The story:There is a story narrated in Aparajita-
pariprchchha (205, 1-26) about the origin of the bana-lingas and their association with the Narmada river. Siva
wanted to destroy the ‘tri-pura’, which had been obtained as a boon by the arrogant demon Banasura, and he let
go a fiery dart from his great bow ‘pinaka’. The dart broke the three ‘puras’ into tiny bits, which fell on three
spots:1, on the hills in Sri-kshetra (of unknown identity),2, on the peaks of Amarakantaka in the Vindhya
ranges, and3, on the banks of the holy river Narmada. The bits that fell in these places soon multiplied into
crores,. each bit becoming a linga. As they formed part of the possession of Banasura, they were called Bana-
Lingas.
Science:
It is the considered view of many researchers and geologists that the unique composition of the Narmadha Shiva
Lingas was due to the impregnation of it’s rocky river-sides and the rocks in the river bed, 14 million years ago
by a large meteorite that crashed into the Narmada River. The fusion of the Meteorite and the Earthly Minerals
has spawned a new and unique type of Crystalline Rock with extraordinary energetic qualities – the Narmada
Bana Lingam. The bana Lingas contain Crypto Crystalline Quartz (masses made up of either fibrous or granular
aggregates of tiny, microscopic Quartz Crystals) and a Gemstone material called Chalcedony (with an iron
oxide and geothite inclusion) alongwith Basalt and Agate – this unique composition coupled with elliptical
shape has a precise resonance in alignment with our Energy Centers or Chakras and are used for thousands of
years as Divine Energy Generators for Cleansing, Healing and for Meditation. The Narmada Bana Lingas are
quite strong and the hardness is a 7 on the Moe’s Scale, one of the highest frequency vibration rates of
all stones on earth. The vibration of bana linga is said to be perfect for purification purpose.

Thus Matsya-Purana (Chap. 165-169), truly said drinking the water from this river (Narmada) and worshipping
Siva (Bana Lingam) will secure freedom from all states of misery

Meaning of Shiv Lingam

It has been a common myth that Shiva Lingam represents male genital organs. This is not only false,
misleading but also base less. Such misinterpretations are done in recent times and popularized to
make it common, when Indian literatures actually came into hands of foreign scholars; Britishers and
Muslims. They relied on extracting simple meanings of major Vedic terms used in daily life without
addressing rightful context. It was difficult to interpret the language, a word may have different
meaning depending on the mis-contrued understanding. Some of the easy interpretation may be
misleading. And such misinterpretation may actually be welcome by skeptics, if you want to find the
defects in somebody else’s faith. Lingam means formless, Shiva Lingam is state of God just before
manifestation of Universe.
This misunderstanding is one of the most glaring examples of such a situation. Misinterpretations of
actual Sanskrit literature led to this false belief. Shiva Lingam is a differentiating mark; it is certainly
not a s*x mark. While the actual meaning of male genital is “shishna” in Sanskrit.
Let us know what Lingam means as per The Lingam Purana:
पपपपपपप पपपपपपपप पपपपपपपपपपपपपपपप प
पपप–पपपप–पपपपपपप पपपप–पपपपपपपपपपपपपपपप प
Meaning:
The foremost Lingam which is devoid of colour, taste, hearing, touch etc is spoken of as Prakriti or
nature.
The nature itself is a Lingam (or symbol) of Shiva. When we see nature, we infer the presence of its creator –
Shiva. Shiva Lingam is the mark of Shiva the creator, Shiva the sustainer and Shiva the destructor. It also
dispels another myth in which Shiva is considered only as a destructor.

Another authentic reference comes from Skanda Purana where lingam is clearly indicated as the supreme Shiva
from where the whole universe is created and where it finally submerge.

पपप: पपपप पपपपपपप पपपपपपपपपपपपपपपपप प
(पपपपपप पपपपप)
Meaning:
The endless sky (that great void which contains the entire universe) is the Linga, the Earth is its base. At
the end of time the entire universe and all the Gods finally emerge in the Linga itself.
Forms of Shiva Lingam
Shiva Lingam is worshiped in two common forms – Chala (Move-able) Lingam and Achala (Non-Move-able or
Fixed) Lingam.

Scientific Reason of Pouring Milk on Shiv Lingam

Shiv Lingams are placed at the most pious place, garbh griha, in temple. At this location, there is tremendous
amount of positive energy flowing all around. Hindus visit the temples not just to respect Gods but also to
energize themselves with positive energies.
When milk is poured on the Shiv Lingam to do पपपपप पपपपपप (milk abhishek) the flow of positive
energy starts getting accumulated towards Shiv Lingam so a person who is devotee of Bhagwan Shiv
when is closer to the Shiv Lingam and bathes Shiv Lingam with पपपपप पपपपप he accepts the flow of
positive energy into his body. Milk is very good conductor of positive energy. Milk of Indian cow when
poured on Shiv Lingam reciting mantras- प पपप पपपपप – strengthens mind, body and inner
consciousness of a person.
Milk is gift to us from Bhagwan ….even breath, body, trees, food, air …infect everything is given by Bhagwan.
When we all took birth, we all were naked…what did we bought to this world, what is our contribution to keep
this world running…. nothing….because we all are negligible, we are staying alive at the mercy of Bhagwan.
Who are we to question that pouring milk on Shiv Lingams is wastage of milk. Are we owning the milk, trees,
places, earth or anything offered for free by Bhagwan. No … then who gave us right to only question Vedic
values which are based on scientifically driven principles. And not question on evil practices of other
religions (adharms), whose evil anti-Vedic concocted god likes to feed on the blood of innocent goats, cows,
camels and buffaloes – wherein till date billions of innocent animals are killed just to appease this anti-God
satan – killing animals is an evil act and pouring milk on Shiv Lingams is pious karma. Think over it; its easy to
bash our core Hindu values which is based on Dharma but very hard to rebut with same vigour about
other adharmis because they are very violent and like terrorism. The moment we start respecting our traditional
values and become aggressive. All these satanic people and their terrorism will cease to exist.
|| Tan mann dhan sab hai tera
Shiv sab kuch hai tera
Tera tujhko arpan, kya lage mera ||
पपपप पपप पपप पपप पपपप, पप पपप पप पप पपप |
पपपप पपपपप पपपपप, पपपप पपपप पप पपप ||
And moreover the poured milk is NEVER wasted, it is used as the charna amrit and the positively
energized milk is redistributed among devotees as prasadam. Infect, we all should be ashamed of the fact
that few of our Hindu brothers and sisters do not pour pure milk but mix it with water to dilute the
positive impact of the puja. We should completely trust our great culture which is into existence since
time immemorial.

Lord Shiva is known as Mahadev due to the instinct characteristics which he represents. The
form in which Lord shiva is represented is called a Ling. Infact, Lord Shiva is the fundamental
god. He is known as prajapati Shiva. There is no origin or form which can be associated with
Shiva. Man needs a symbol to worship so the ling was created “Ling means symbol”. For
example Vishnu’s Ling is a chakra or if someone was wearing a stethoscope you would say he
was a doctor. A ling is only a symbol to identify something. This symbol that we call a Shivling
has behind it a scientific explanation.

The beginning of life is called Hiranyagarbha. This is the thread or formula of life which is
complete in itself and reproduces itself without any organ. It multiplies itself from 1 to 2, then
from 2 to 4 and so on. It is the basic culture of any form of life. It can be compared to DNA
which contains the genetic code. It is indestructible, reproduces itself and contains the
specifications of any generation. So, how did our ancestors explain DNA? The structure of DNA
as we know was first described by scientists in 1953. Nobody had imagined this type of
structure. It is also difficult to explain the structure of DNA to a common man. Now we can see
the 3D structures with movements on TV. Before that, it was imagined as a et of two spiral
interwined staircases. Our rishis saw this structure through their meditation and explained it the
same way modern science explains DNA. They concluded that it was helical, produced itself, and
according to our scriptures, it first originated from Lord Shiva.

The rishis imagined that Prajapati must have created a mound first. You have to make a mound
before creating anything, for example, a clay mound for a statue and a store mound for a
sculpture. Our rishis had imagined this round mound, the Shivling, was wrapped with a snake,
which might model DNA. To describe more complex DNA, a pair of snakes wrapped around each
other can be visualized to represent a double helix, as rishis explained. The rishis also said that it
was the base structure and entire nature began with it. This was determined by our rishis to be
the fundamental and elemental point with which any life form could being.

Modern science corroborates the findings of our scriptures that DNA is like a thread and is so
small that it can not be seen with naked eyes it reproduces itself by multiplying itself and cannot
be destroyed. An object can be destroyed, but its DNA will exist in one form or another. The
properties suggested for DNA by modern science had also been suggested in our scripture. So
the Shivling is not just a mere symbol. Our rishis wanted to give a message to the masses that
you can see the smallest form of nature in the form of the Shivling. The Shivling represents the
atomic structure. When they created the Shivling it was imagined that there was one Hari and
one Har in the ling. Har is shiva, and Hari is Vishnu. shiva and Vishnu are present in this Ling.
Jalhari has three lines because three signifies “multiple” in Sanskrit. In our atomic structure,
there are protons and neutrons which are surrounded by fast spinning electrons.

Our rishis imagined that this ling has Har (neutron) and Hari (proton) inside, and Brahma
(electron) spins around them in the form of Jalhari. Brahma is tied with Haari by a thread
through his navel and cannot go too far. He is attached with Hari after creating nature and looks
after nature. Har (Shiva) is unattached and in meditation in the Himalayas. He becomes
destroyer when necessary. Everything is created by protons and electrons and electrons play the
major role. A change in the number of electrons changes the dimensions and properties. Brahma
is similar in nature. Har is neutral and is sitting in the nucleus with all the energy. Energy is
released by breaking the nucleus also known by our modern science as atomic fission. According
to our rishis, Shiva has the energy within as long as Shiva is in meditation.
Once we make Shiva angry which can be compared to breaking the nucleus, the energy is
released in the form of Durga. This energy is indeed the atomic energy as explained by the
modern science. The force of Shiva , which we call Rudrani, is always with him. It is described in
the Mahabarat by Maharishi Vashishtha that he saw this Rudrani . He saw a huge black shadow
dancing in the sky around Lord Shiva, who blinded his eyes. It was so powerful and huge that he
could not see the beginning or end and even after running with his mind till the end of time.
There is a colossal energy constantly dancing around Lord Shiva. This dance can be compared
with electrons spinning and revolving around the nucleus. If a neutron is separated from its
nucleus, a destructive force is released, just like if this surrounding energy is separated from
Lord Shiva . If Lord Shiva desires, he can release this energy.

You must have seen that the nuclear reactors resemble a Svivling in the shape like a mound, and
all the radioactive particles are constantly kept under water. The hard water and soft water are
formed there. This water becomes radioactive. Water is constantly sprinkled on the Shivling to
control Shiva’s temper, reflecting a nuclear reactor. In terms of modern science, it is supposed to
represent the nuclear reactor. This water from the Shivling is not used as prasad or even as holy
water. This could be compared to the water used for cooling the nuclear reactors which is also
not used for nay other purposes. This water from Shivling flows freely from the jalhari in a
stream from a corner of the Ling. One cannot go around the Shivling as it is beyond a human
being to really go around or comprehend this tremendous power. This also shows humans their
limitations within which we need to live.

We can see the smallest form of this in a Shivling and also the colossal form in our galaxy. If you
look at the pictures of nebulae or galaxies, you will see the mound, which is called the Shivling
and the jalahari around it. This is in the reality pictures taken fron space show a clear picture of
Shivling as described in our scriptures. shiva is referred to as “bhole” meaning simple and can be
pleased by little worship. Once he is happy, he gives boons without thinking of the worshipper’s
worthiness. Still one must follow the right path for if you are on a wrong path even by mistake
and Shiva is not pleased with you, no one can save you. Shiva is pleased very easily and at the
same time, is enormously powerful. One should worship him only after understanding his great
power. One who has power can pass it on to others and anyone can receive it. It is critical that
you understand the colossal power of Shiva.

One thing you may be questioning is why Lord Shiva is so often represented as
a lingam. Linga basically means a sign or symbol. So the lingam is essentially a
symbol of the shapeless universal consciousness of Lord Shiva. “Shiva” also means
that in which the creation lies dormant after the annihilation. So, one explanation is
that the lingam is a representative of the dormant universal consciousness in which
all created things rest after the cosmic annihilation. It also represents the pradhana,
the potential but unmanifest ingredients of the material world. Another explanation is
that Shiva means auspicious. So the linga is the shapeless symbol for the great god
of auspiciousness. It is intended to bring the shapeless unknown into our attention.
The yoni upon which
the lingam often sits
represents the manifest
universal energy. From
the unmanifest comes the
manifest energy, through
which all other things are
created. The yoni, which
is a symbol of Shakti,
combined with thelingam,
is a symbol of the eternal
union of the paternal and
maternal principles, or the
positive and negative, or
the static and dynamic energies of the Absolute Reality. It is the communion of the
eternal consciousness and dynamic power of the Shakti, the source of all actions
and changes. It is also the symbol for the creation of the universe through the
combination of the active energy of Lord Shiva and his Shakti. This is how Lord
Shiva and Durga are considered the parents of the universe. The symbolism of
the lingam and yoni also represents the base of the spine, meaning the
Muladhara chakra, upon which the kundaliniis resting, waiting for awakening.

If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and
vibration” – Nikola Tesla

Today, lets study the science behind OM mantra.

One of the most popular misconception about “OM” is that it is religious. On the
contrary, it is the most universal syllable because it neither refers to any particular
religion nor God. There have been several theories behind the OM mantra with the most
popular explanation being that it was the cosmic sound which initiated the creation of
universe (big bang theory). But that alone would not have been sufficient to turn it into
a regular practice in Indian culture.
As with most of the traditional practices followed in India, this also has a scientific and
practical explanation (based on the physics of sound, vibrations & resonance) with some
long term benefit and we shall find out what it really is.
What is mantra?
In its most rudimentary form, a mantra is made of syllables which exert their influence
by means of sound (vibrations). As one would have personally experienced, different
syllables have different vibration patterns which affect different parts of the body. Each
syllable resonates with certain organ or part of the body.

For example, by chanting “aaaaaaa”, one can feel the sensation and hence resonance of
nervous system in the stomach and chest region. Chanting “ooooo” creates sensations
in throat & chest region and resonates with them. Similarly, chanting/humming
“mmmm” resonates with the nasal cavity as well as skull/brain region.

Here is a short clip in which a Doctor explains the same:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WAgbYYcCkE

What happens when we concatenate (join together) the above syllables into one mantra?
We get the AUM mantra which when chanted sequentially activates the stomach, spinal
cord, throat, nasal and brain regions. The energy moves from the abdomen all the way
up to the brain, thereby channelizing energy and activating the spinal cord & brain.

Following is an excerpt from a research paper which shows the waveform of A-U-M
mantra made up of 3 syllables.

One of the most popular claims made by Yogis is that chanting Om mantra improves
our concentration, gives peace and steadiness to our mind, reduces mental stress and
clears all worldly thoughts. Although those who practice it regularly would have
experienced it first hand and affirm the same, scientists were curious to find out more
about it and verify such claims with the help of science & technology.
Few years ago, scientists conducted an experiment in which participants who had never
chanted Om mantra were asked to chant it for few minutes and each of their chants
were recorded. The time frequency analysis of it showed irregular waveforms which
indicated unsteadiness in the mind. They were asked to chant the mantra on a regular
basis and after few days, the experiment was repeated. The time-frequency analysis
this time had some startling revelations. The waveforms were improved with regular
spacing, had almost perfect symmetry and harmony. Not only had these participants
witnessed dramatic improvements in focus, concentration & steadiness, but found
themselves to be in peace, witnessed reduction in mental stress & could remain calm all
the time.

Research paper:
http://paper.ijcsns.org/07_book/200808/20080825.pdf
In another such instance, scientists conducted experiments to study the effect of Om
mantra on nervous system through repeated practice. Using sophisticated software
tools, mathematical transforms were applied to raw samples of the chantings and
similar results (improvements in focus concentration, steadiness, peace, reduction in
stress etc) were observed.
Research paper:
http://paper.ijcsns.org/07_book/200901/20090151.pdf

In another experiment, scientists analyzed functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging

scans (f-MRI scans) before & after Om mantra chanting and concluded that regular
chanting of Om mantra can treat depression & epilepsy as well.
Research paper:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3099099/

Recent findings in the medical field confirms that chanting can lower blood pressure.
News Report:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1258234/Chants-fine-thing-It-sound-daft-
doctors-believe-meditation-really-lower-blood-pressure.html
Another research at molecular level reveals that chanting Om can even alter genes for
better well-being!!

Research paper:

Hence, based on scientific experiments & research studies, we can now confirm the age
old claims made by Yogis that chanting Om mantra reduces mental stress, cures
depression, improves focus & concentration, calms the mind and leads to better well-
being, peace & happiness.

Lets now look at the benefits of OM

The sustained 'O' -formed by the 'AU'- sound makes all the bones of the thoracic
cage vibrate, proving that vibration is communicated to the mass of air contained in
our lungs and that the delicate membrane of alveolus in contact with this air vibrates
too, this stimulates the pulmonary cells and enables an optimum gaseous exchange
in our lungs. Furthermore, the latest research of many Western physiologists has
also shown how this vibration produces very accentuated effects in the endocrine
glands, to which Science is gradually attributing an increasing importance.

Besides, the vibrant internal massage resulting from the emission of the vowels 'au',
acts especially in the abdominal organs and the organs of the thoracic cage, whilst
the vibration of the 'mmm' in our skulls induces a vibration of the cranial nerves.

This Kriya Technique for Kundalini Awakening is probably one of the easiest ways to
enter a blissful state of meditation. It is what would be termed a “purifying technique”
as it will purify the energy channels of your body allowing more energy or Shakti to
move through.

I will explain the technique in three parts:

The first part of this technique for kundalini awakening is to focus your breath starting
at the base of your spine all the way up your spine and out of the top of your head.
Do this for the inhale. As you inhale move your focus from the base of your spine, up
the spine and out of the top of your head as though your are “breathing up” the
energy.

You do not need to imagine anything. This is not about imagination but focus. Focus
your breath to move up the spine and out the
top of your head.

And the focus should be relaxed. You are not

to force anything. You are simply gently
suggesting the energy to move in this direction.
So do focus the energy up but allow the
kundalini energy to move on it’s own without
force.

It may seem quite strange to focus your breath

where your breath does not go but it is very
effective. Breath is energy, “prana.” And simply
by focusing the breath in a certain area, the
energy moves to that area.

After practicing this for a while, you will start to feel the energy rising. The sensations
will be subtle at first but over time can become very blissful. It can almost feel like an
orgasm, a rush of bliss moving up your spine.
The second part of this technique for kundalini awakening is it to move the breath
down your front as you exhale.

As you exhale, move the breath from the top of your head to the third eye, (located
between your eyebrows) then to your throat and then to your heart chakra, located at
the center of your chest.

Stop the breath at the center of your chest. And then again, inhale from the base of
your spine, repeating the process above.

The third part of this technique for kundalini awakening

is to awaken the energy. Because an enlightened
teacher would not give this technique without initiating
you into this technique. This calls for the teacher to give
you shaktipat, to actually awaken your kundalini by
touch, chanting or simply by focusing their energy on
you.

So to awaken this energy yourself, there is an easy

technique but a very important one. And that is to
silently repeat the name of an enlightened teacher,
Guru or Saint that you feel connected to whether you
have met them or not. If you are of a particular religion, you can repeat the name of a
saint of that religion. Otherwise, choose an enlightened teacher who you admire.

You can repeat the name as you inhale, and repeat the name as you exhale. The
reason for this is that you take on the Shakti (energy) of what you focus on. So
simply by repeating the name of an enlightened Guru or Saint, you take on their
energy, their state of bliss. This technique is thousands of years old and is still used
today because it is so effective.

If this step makes you uncomfortable, you can repeat “peace” instead.

Really, you are awakening that which is in you, not something from the outside. But
enlightened teachers are the outward manifestation of what is inside you. A Saint or
Guru have awakened what you wish also to awaken. So by focusing on their name,
you awaken that energy in you. It has nothing to do with them as a personality or
body but the energy that naturally radiates from them.

Iḍānāḍī or the Chandranāḍī (moon channel), that is, the channel that runs to the left of
theSushumnanadi.

The Vital energy is transmitted in the body through the Sun channel and the Moon
channel and the other smaller channels. The vital energy flow alternates between the
Sun channel and Moon channel.

The Kundalini is spiritual energy and it generally lies dormant, coiled at the base of
the Sushumnanadi for an average person. Through spiritual practice it begins to rise
from the base of the spine through the Sushumnanadi right till the top of the
head. While it does so, the Kundalini awakens each of the chakrasalong the way.
As the Kundalini passes each chakra along the Sushumnanadi, there is a thin subtle-
valve that it needs to push through at each chakra to make its onward journey
upwards. As it keeps pushing through the wall there is sometimes an increase in the
amount of spiritual energy from the Sushumnanadi at that chakra. Having nowhere
to go, it sometimes flows out through the surrounding subtle-ducts and becomes
converted into Vital energy (Prāṇa–shakti). For that period of time, the concerned
person may experience a heightened activity associated with that area. For example
an increase in Vital energy or Vital energy around the sacralchakra (Swādhishṭhān–
chakra) area can produce a heightened sexual drive.

As discussed earlier, the Kundalini rises through spiritual practice regardless of path.
However the frame of reference may change in terms of how that Path to God
perceives it. For example when the Kundalini passes the heart chakra (Anāhat–
chakra):

 According to the Path of Devotion the seeker is said to have reached a state
of manifest spiritual emotion (bhāv).
However with respect to the Path of Knowledge a seeker begins to experience Divine consciousness.

According to a 1985 article by David T. Eastman in Yoga Journal, some of the more common signs
and symptoms of an awakened Kundalini include:

Involuntary jerks, tremors or shaking

Intense heat, especially as energy is experienced passing through the chakras

Spontaneous pranayam, asanas, mudrās and bandhas

Visions or sounds at times associated with a particular chakra

Intense feelings of pleasure

Emotional purgings in which particular emotions become dominant for short periods of time.

Toning
As everything in the universe is sound or vibration, a disharmony in one of those sounds or a break in the
unfolding of the sequence of sounds, leads to discomfort, disease, and a loss of wholeness. For example, if
one musician in an orchestra is playing off key, there is a loss of harmony in the whole piece of music.
You can correct that by having a second musician stand next to the first one and play the correct notes. Just
by hearing the correct notes, the first musician will automatically begin playing correctly.
Similarly, if there is a disharmony in your physiology, and you know the correct vibration for that area,
you can begin to correct the imbalance by chanting or toning that sound. For example, if you have a
problem with your eyes, and you know the sound relating to the eyes, you can activate the healing process
for that area by chanting that sound (silently or aloud) and directing the vibration into the area of the
eyes.

Examples of Toning Sounds for the Body

Mmm sinuses
Nnn ears
Eemm eyes
Lmm nose
Paam stomach
Kaa Gaa Gha throat
Yaa Yu Yi jaw
Haa diaphragm
Mam reproductive organs
Ma heart
Sssss Lungs and large intestine
Shhh Liver and small intestine
Wooo Kidneys and bladder
UU-AH-EE-MM Energizing, wakeup
MM-EE-AH-UU Relaxing, bedtime

The vowel sounds Ahaa, Eee, Eye, Ooo, Uuu are non-local or non-specific. If you don’t know the sound
for an area of the body, you can chant any of the vowel sounds and direct its vibration into that area.

Chakras
1st Chakra, base of the spine LAAM
2nd Chakra, sacral area VAAM
3rd Chakra, navel area RAAM
4th Chakra, heart area YAAM
5th Chakra, throat area HAAM
6th Chakra, between eyebrows KSHAAM
7th Chakra, crown (top) of head OM
Bells, Gongs, and Bowls
Bells, gongs, or bowls that have a clear ring when struck can be used for balancing and clearing energy.
Unless a metal bell, gong, or bowl has been tuned to a specific frequency, they can only be used for
general purposes.

To clear the body’s energetic field, strike the instrument and circle it clockwise around the body, move it
up and down the limbs, move up upwards along the front of the spine.

To clear a room or home, play the instrument while standing in the center of the space or move around the
edges of the space in a clockwise direction, striking/ringing the instrument.
Crystal bowls are manufactured to specific vibrations, usually to the vibration of one of the chakras. They
can be used for general balancing and clearing as described above or played in front of the specific chakra,
with your attention on that chakra.

What is sound? According to modern science, it is vibration. "If you

examine the core of an atom you will realise that all matter is one. " This
Advaitic conclusion is arrived at according to nuclear science and the
concepts of Einstein. All this world is one flood of energy (sakti); everything
is an electromagnetic flow. But how do we account for the manifestation of
different objects? It is to be attributed to different type of vibrations.

Where there is vibration there is a sound. Conversely, to produce a sound

the vibration corresponding to it must also be created. The scientific
concept that the different vibrations of the same energy are the cause of
creation is the same as the belief that world was created with the breath of
the Paramatman manifesting itself as the sound of the Vedas.

Consider human beings and other creatures. What is it that determines

their health and feelings? The breath that passes through our nadis, blood
vessels, during respiration produces vibrations and on them depends the
state of our health. Those who keep their breathing under control through
the practice of yoga are healthy to an amazing degree. They do not bleed
even if their veins are cut. They are able to remain buried in the earth in
samadhi stopping their pulse and heartbeat. They are not poisoned even if
they are bitten by a snake or stung by a scorpion. The reason is that they
keep the vibrations of the nadis under control during breathing.

Breath is vital not only to the body but also to the mind. The mind which is
the source of thought and the vital(pranik) energy that is the source of
breath are the same. Healthy or unhealthy thoughts are to be attributed to
different vibrations of the nadis. You may test this for youself. See for
yourself how you breathe when you are at peace before the sanctum of a
deity or in the presence of a great and wise person and how you breathe
when your mind is quickened by desire or anger. The happiness you
experience when you take part in something divine, like a bhajan or
atemple festival, must be different from the pleasure that sensual
gratification gives you: the vibrations of the nadis concerned will also be
correspondingly different.

When you experience joy of an elevated kind the passage of breath will be
through the right nostril, but when you are enjoying sensual pleasure it will
be through the left. When you meditate, with increasing concentration, on
the Reality Serene which is the source of all your urges and feelings, the
breath will pass through both nostrils slowly, evenly and rhythmically. When
you are absorbed in the object of your meditation breathing itself will cease,
but there will still be life. The great awareness called jnana will then be in
bloom as it were.

The inert body of a man and the awareness that is the vital essence of his
life are both dependent on the course of his breathing. They grow or decay
according to it. The course of a man's breath keeps his inner vibrations in
order.

Is it not from the Paramatman that so many countless inert objects and so
many sentient beings have originated and grown? The movements
appropriate to these should have also occured in the Ultimate Object that is
the Paramatman.

Even according to non-dualism, the Brahman that is utterly still and is

unconditioned and has no attributes (nirguna) manifests itself in the
countless disguises of this cosmos with the power of Maya, Maya that
cannot be described. Disguises or no disguises, we have to concede the
existence, in a mundane sense, of the inert world and of the sentient
beings. But we must remember that even Maya has its source in Isvara
who is "Mayin". But the power of Maya apart, all that we see have arisen
from the vibrations in the Object called the Parabrahman. At the same time,
with all these vibrations, this Object remains still and tranquil inwardly. This
stillness not withstanding, there are movements that are apparent to our
perception. They are not disorderly movements but constitute a system
embracing vast heavenly bodies like the sun at one end and the tiniest of
insects on the other or even something as humble as a blade of glass.

It is this orderliness that goes to make worldly life happy. The Paramatmam
has created this by bringing all powers of nature within an orderly system.
But if you sometimes see flaws in it and the natural forces going against us,
it is because he likes to be playful now and then.

The human mind can go astray to any length. Indeed it keeps wandering
aimlessly like a globin or an imp. Whatever the extent to which cosmic life
is orderly, it (the human mind) breaks free from all control and runs about
like a mad dog.

When the powers of nature are unfavourable to us, is there a way to

change their behaviour and make them favourable to us? Is there also a
means by which our mind could be brought under control when it goes
haywire? If everything is caused by vibration, by sound, there must be a
way of making the forces of nature favourable to us and of purifying our
mind and bringing it under control through this very sound. The Vedas
constitute such sound.

By controlling our breath through the practice of yoga, it is possible to gain

access to the breath of the Paramatman and by this means perform such
actions as can uplift our own Self as well as mankind. Here the vibrations of
the nadis do not produce the sound that is audible to us. Science tells us
that there are sounds outside the range of human hearing in the same way
as there is light that does not pass through the lens of the human eye.

However, it is possible to bring within us (within our reach) that which is

without. When a musician sings on the radio, the sound of his music is
converted into electromagnetic waves which travel through space. But how
do we hear music? The receiving set captures the electromagnetic waves
and reconverts them into sound waves.

(Science is not opposed to religion. It seems to me that it even helps in the

growth of religion. A century ago, before the radio and the telephone were
invented, it would not have been easy to counter the arguments of an
atheist who dismisses claims made on behalf of the sound of the Vedas as
absurd. Now the discoveries of science have come to our rescue. )

It is possible for humans to earn the power of energy possessed by such

an inert object as the radio set. Indeed we can earn much more, do much
more. It is tapas, ascetic endeavour, that will give us such energy. What is
tapas? It is the determination to find the truth: it is keeping the mind one-
pointed in this search, forsaking food, sleep, home, everything. But when
you are a seeker like this, you must remain humble and erase the least
trace of egoism in you. You must realise that the truth you seek will be
revealed to you only with the grace of Isvara. The sages performed
austerities in this manner and attained to the highest plane of yoga. They
could perceive the vibrations in creation, that is the course taken by the
breath of the Supreme Godhead. Besides, they also knew them as sound
capable of being heard by the human ear in the same manner as electric
waves converted into sound waves. It is these sounds that they have
passed on to us the mantras of the Vedas.

The Vedas are called "Sruti. " That which is heard is Sruti. "Srotra" means
the "ear". The Vedas have been handed down orally from generation to
generation and have not been taught or learned from any written text. That
is how they got the name of "Sruti". Why were these scriptures not
permitted to be written down? Because the sound of the Vedas cannot be
properly transcribed. There are sounds or phonemes that cannot be
accurately represented in any script. For instance, the one between "zha"
and "la". Such sounds have to be learned by listening. Besides there are
svaras for Vedic mantras (tonal variations, proper accentuation):"udatta"
(raised syllable), "anudatta"(lowered syllable) and "svarita"(falling syllable).
Mistakes in enunciation are likely even if diacritical or some other marks
are used in the printed text. Wrong chanting will not bring the desired
results. There is much difference in the vibrations caused by pronouncing a
syllable laying stress on it and pronouncing it without any stress.
Correspondingly, there will be changes in our feelings and urges and the
divine forces that rule nature. There is a story in the Taittiriya Samhita of
the Vedas which illustrates how wrong chanting can produce results
contrary to what is intended. Tvasta, the divine carpenter, chanted a
mantra with the object of begetting a son who would be the slayer of Indra.
But he went wrong in the intonation of some syllables. So, unwittingly, he
prayed for a son who would be slain by Indra instead of one who would
slay that celestial. And his prayer (that had gone wrong in the intonation)
was answered. When the wavelength shifts even minutely on our radio we
receive the broadcast of a different transmitting station. Fine-tuning has to
be done to get the required station. So is the case with the intonation of
Vedic mantras. There should not be the slightest mistake in the svaras.
Just as we receive a different station on our radio when the wavelength is
changed, so the result is different when we go wrong in the intonation.

This is the reason why it is of the utmost importance to learn the Vedas by
listening - hence the name "Sruti", in Tamil "Ezhutakkilavi" (unwritten old
text). Another explanation occurs to me for the name "Sruti". The sages
heard, did they not, the sound of the divine vibrations that cannot be
perceived by the common people? Did they read the Vedas in any book or
did they compose them themselves? Sruti is an apt name for the Vedas
since they were made known to the world after they had been first heard by
the sages.

The Vedic seers have the name of "mantra-drastas" --a "drasta" is one who
sees. In Tamil it is "parppavan". "Parppan" also means the same thing. If
the sages "saw" the mantras it would mean that they did not "hear" them.
Which of the two versions is correct? Did the sages see the mantras or did
they hear them? If they saw them, in what script did they appear? There
was no script at the time, neither Devanagari nor Grantha nor Brahmi, the
basis of all. But, then, the sound of Vedas, their svaras, cannot be truly
written down in any script.

The answer to this problem is that when the sages were meditating the
mantras of the Vedas appeared to them in a flash in their hearts. It may be
that in this state of theirs they could neither see nor hear anything. The
mantras must have appeared in a flash in the inner recesses of their minds.
"Seeing" or "looking" does not denote merely what is perceived by the eye.
It is a term that covers a variety of perceptions and experiences. When we
say that a man has "seen" all sorrows in his life, does the term "seen" imply
only what he "saw" with his eyes? Does it not mean what he has
"experienced"? The term "mantra-drasta" also could be taken in a similar
manner as referring to what is perceived through experience. It is further
believed that the sages were able to hear the Vedas with their divine ears.

Arjuna wished to see the Lord's cosmic form (visvarupa). The Gita has it
that Krsna Paramatman said to him: " You will not be able to see my
cosmic form with this eyes of yours. I will give you a celestial eye. . . . . "

Just as Arjuna was endowed by the Lord with a divine eye, the sages must
have been invested with celestial ears to grasp the sound emanating from
the Paramatman and pervading the vast space.

The vibrations of the Vedas serve the purpose not only of creation and the
conduct of life. There are indeed Vedic mantras that help us to transcend
this life and become one with the Ultimate Truth. When a man returns by
the same way as he comes, does he not arrive at the starting point? In the
same way when we go seeking how creation came about, we are led to the
point where there are no vibrations, no movements, where there is utter
stillness. Some mantras that create vibrations in our nadis accomplish the
same noble task of taking us to such a goal. Such are the
Upanisadic mahavakyas and Pranava.

In sum, the Vedas are not anyone's compositions. The sages did not create
them, nor were inscribed by the Paramatman on palm-leaves.

About "Hindu Dharma"

BIG BANG TEORY

Big Bang is that event in the history of the whole cosmos that without the big bang... the existence of
the present cosmos would never have been possible.

A cosmos without a Cosmos... it is only for an umpteenth moment of a second... the time between the
dissolution of cosmos (called Pralaya inHinduism) and the start of a fresh Cosmos with the big bang
that there exists nothing but an absolute blank.

I get a lot of queries as to why the Cosmos was created by Almighty God in the first place. What was
the need to do that? If we define Godthen the things would become pretty clear.

What is the Definition God? The sum total of all purified Souls Atmans in whole Cosmos at a given
moment of time is what we know as Almighty God. These purified souls... the size of half a thumb as
defined in the sacred Bhagavad Gita (the doctrine put forward by Lord Krishnaat the time
of Mahabharata, the war of dharma) unable to contain themselves explode with the big bang.

This conceptualizes the start of the cosmos with a big bang. The explosion (the big bang itself) is so
massive that all Souls Atmans spread out with unbelievable speeds in all directions. In the process on
their way they collect impurities.

As the prime property of any soul atman is to remain in pure pristine form... it again starts on its
journey of purification. This leads to the journey by a soul atman through a chain of manifestations (a
total of 8.4 million manifestations in total)... the beginning of a cosmic life cycle. A total earthly journey
of about 96.4 million years... a long journey indeed!

The sooner the big bang occurs... starts the journey of every soul atman to come back to its pristine
pure form. As any planet like Mother Earth is found conducive for germination of any form of life... the
Souls Atmans have their day.

To purify them... every soul atman needs a body to work out its karma. And what is karma? As
defined in the Hindu sacred Scriptures and the Bhagavad Gita, karma is the process by which every
soul atman is able to cleanse itself of the impurities contained within.

Similarly as the metal within an ore cannot separate itself on its own and requires the requisite mining
machinery and the process... likewise every soul atman on its cosmic journey requires a body to work
out its karma (i.e. remove the dross from within).

This is how the need for creating a Cosmos arises. The big bang is not a controlled feature. It
happens on its own. The moment the dissolution of cosmos occurs (called Pralaya in Hinduism)... the
combined power of all the souls (the size of half a thumb) unable to control it explodes with a big
bang... the start of a new journey... a new Cosmos!

Whatever logistics the various group of scientists put forward as to how the Cosmos was created...
some accept and some do not accept the theory of the big bang... the facts and the truth remains the
same. It is only through the process of the big bang and only the big bang that formation of any new
Cosmos takes place.

Reduced to the basic building block of the whole Cosmos... the whole world nay the whole Cosmos is
but a cluster of atoms and molecules. It is pure energy all around surrounded by ether... the black and
the empty portion of the cosmos.
Bhagavad Gita explains in minute details the complete formation of the cosmos from the beginning to
the end. Nothing is hidden... it is only when things are perceived from the angle of absolute faith... the
inner meaning of the concepts explained in Bhagavad Gita become clear.

Bhagavad Gita is beyond the capture of senses and the mind. The prime reason why majority of the
scientists around the world have failed to learn of the wisdom contained in the Bhagavad Gita. It is not
purely logistics but also the element of faith which is essential for learning what Bhagavad Gita has to
impart to the humanity.

One single document Bhagavad Gita explains it all. Where is the need for various explanations in
respect of the formation of the cosmos in the initial stages? Any other occurrence other than the big
bang theory does not stand a chance. The occurrence of the big bang is directly related to the
concept of God Almighty. Unless and until one is able to digest the real meaning of God Almighty... all
theories and concepts would remain on paper.

The big bang theory is not a concept... it is a happening which occurs once in the life of a Cosmos.
The big bang announces the formation of a new Cosmos and the dissolution of the last Cosmos. It is
billions of years before the dissolution of a Cosmos (called Pralaya in Hinduism) occurs.

The present scientific system which is controlled by the system of senses and the mind cannot
perceive anything beyond the present Cosmos. If one were to know if there existed any other Cosmos
prior to the present one... one needs to study the pearls of wisdom contained in the Bhagavad Gita!
Everything would become crystal clear.

Does it also mean that at that time of the dissolution of cosmos (called Pralaya in Hinduism) ... every
single soul atman in whatever stage of manifestation becomes enlightened... yes, it is so? Bhagavad
Gita, the doctrine put forward by Lord Krishna in the battle of Mahabharata confirms it.

Unless and until every single soul atman becomes enlightened and gains Salvation Moksha in
Hinduism... they shall not become pure and regain their original pristine state. Unless that happens...
the start of a new Cosmos with a big bang cannot occur.

All the Souls Atmans after the dissolution of cosmos (called Pralaya in Hinduism) occurs do not wait
for long... it is imperative that all forms of life reach the level of Enlightenment and finally Salvation
Moksha in hinduism immediately. Everything after the dissolution of cosmos (called Pralaya in
Hinduism) reduces to the size of just half a thumb. The massive power that the whole Cosmos
reducing to the size of half a thumb is beyond the comprehension of senses!

This massive power unable to contain itself for long again explodes with a big bang announcing the
start of a new Cosmos.

GOD
God is that subtle truth of life in absence of which existence of life on Mother Earth was not possible.
Reaching God is reaching the end of cosmic journey! One can always feel the presence of God but
having reached stage of enlightenment it is only enlightened beings that come face-to-face with God
in their lifetime!

God is not an entity as a human being. It is a source of power... such colossal power that Bhagavad
Gita, the sacred doctrine put forward byLord Krishna gives the Definition of God as, "the sum total of
all the purified souls atmans in the cosmos at any given point of time" and this reduces to a paltry half
the size of a thumb. Yes, the size of God is half the size of a thumb at the beginning of every Cosmos.

Meaning that when the dissolution of cosmos finally occurs... the whole Cosmos reduces to half the
size of a thumb and this is what we call God Almighty! This massive colossal power in its pristine
glorious form unable to retain itself for long explodes with a Big Bang giving rise to the birth of a new
Cosmos... a new journey!

Right from the first journey as an amoeba by our soul atman within... and to the last 8.4 millionth
manifestation... the journey of the soul exists for God Almighty is there. The existence of the soul
atman itself confirms the existence of god Almighty. Our soul atman being a miniscule form of God
Almighty... one can continue living as an atheist (a non believer of God) but inherently every atheist
believes in the existence of a mighty power that one considers above all. This mighty power can be
the shape of a colossal energy source but atheists never considers it to be God Almighty... one who
created the creation!

Whatever be our belief... the existence of god Almighty can never be negated. As per Bhagavad
Gita... the sum total of all purified atmans souls in the cosmos is what we call God Almighty. When
every soul atman is connected to the mighty soul God Almighty... the question of non existence of god
Almighty does not arise!

We may believe in existence of god as an entity or otherwise... the fact remains that God Almighty is
of the form of colossal energy... and it can never have a form! in hinduism the believers in the Sakaar
form (having a form) of God are in the wrong. God does not have a form. God is always Nirakaar in
form (formless). It is only when perceived from the senses point of view, "it sometimes appears to a
devotee of God that God has a form and is Sakaar in nature. But the truth is exactly opposite. The
intelligence of every human being is limited by his senses. It is only when the true seeker of spirituality
steps beyond the domain of physical senses that the true existence of god in the Cosmos can be
visualized.

Only those who having transgressed the physical senses and the mind, reach the level of Nirvikalpa
Samadhi and are able to visualize truly the existence of god Almighty. Right from amoeba to the level
of a human being... it is not within the powers of one to visualize the Nirakaar form of God. To reach
that level one has to transgress the physical senses and the mind. God on the whole is the full puzzle
and every individual soul atman being individual parts of the large puzzle. As and when an individual
soul atman reaches stage of enlightenment and finally salvation... this particular piece of puzzle
comes back to join the main puzzle. It is only when the dissolution of cosmos occurs that all pieces of
the puzzle reach their 8.4 millionth manifestation in order to complete the puzzle.

Reaching back to the source has been termed as reaching the kingdom of heaven in Christianity. in
hinduism one reaches the level of Vaikuntha... the abode of God! Right from the first manifestation as
an amoeba and to the last as a human being... the only purpose of the soul atman within is to purify
itself and come back to its original pristine pure form. Only then the soul atman shall reach the stage
of Vaikuntha (abode of God in Hinduism). The total cosmic journey of 8.4 million manifestations is
intended for that. A total travel of 96.4 million earthly years... a long journey indeed!

To believe or not to believe in existence of god carries no meaning for the soul atman within a body.
The goal of every soul atman always being reaching its pristine pure form at the earliest! This is
possible when the form of a human being reaches its highest manifest stage... the stage of the
enlightened one and finally the end goal of life... gaining Salvation Moksha in Hinduism!

I receive many queries as to why God created the Cosmos in the first place. Bhagavad Gita... the
sacred doctrine put forward by Lord Krishna in the battlefield of Kurushetra prohibits the answer of
this question. It is not within the powers of a human being to rightly assess the cause for God to have
created the Cosmos itself! Why indulge in matters beyond the realm of the physical senses and the
mind? We need to understand that having transgressed the domain of the five senses and the mind...
everything becomes crystal clear to every serious seeker of spirituality as to why God created the
whole Cosmos. Down further it is not only difficult nay impossible for one to decipher as to why God
created the Cosmos in the first place.

The total journey of 8.4 million manifestations is regulated by doctrine of karma. Bhagavad Gita the
sacred doctrine put forward by Lord Krishna also emphasizes upon the merit of doing ones karma. In
the present Kali Yuga... prime importance has been attached to the doctrine of karma. Swami
Vivekananda also emphasized upon doing the right karma all the time. It is only karma and karma
alone which shall shorten the journey of soul atman within us. Performance of the Punya karma
expedites the journey of the soul atman within the body. Negative karma only enhances the journey
by the soul atman within.
It is only when our soul atman has been purified of all the dross contained within that it becomes free
to go to the kingdom of God (Vaikuntha in Hinduism). As we remove the impurities within the ore to
separate metal from it... likewise the dross within the soul atman is required to be removed by
performing of the right karma by the body. Punya karma enhances the journey and negative karma
delays it.

It is purely dependent upon every soul atman nay every individual body for that matter to expedite or
not to expedite the journey. Punya karma leads to enhancing the journey for the soul atman within.
Indulgence in negative karma leads to prolonging the journey! In the present Kali Yuga it is utmost
essential for a serious seeker of spirituality to practice yoga meditation in a manner that the dross
within the soul atman gets reduced. Only then one can hope to reach the end of the journey... gain
enlightenment and finally salvation (moksha in Hinduism... Nirvana in Buddhism)!

From the first manifestation, the stage of an amoeba and to the last manifestation, the stage of a
human being, God always acts as a Dhrista onlooker! It never interferes in the creation of his. All is
dependent upon the doctrine of karma. As we perform so shall we get... nothing less or more! It is
only the doctrine of karma which gets us through this Samsara (worldly life on Mother Earth).

Ever since the beginning of time God has always remained a Dhrista onlooker... right from the stage
of the Big Bang and to the last stage of every Cosmos... the dissolution itself, the role of God has
never been of a Karta (doer)! Every Jiva (living being) for that matter lives by doctrine of karma and
governs itself. To summarize in a nutshell... the existence of god on Mother Earth can never be
denied! Every soul atman within the body is a miniscule form of God Almighty. The moment it gains
pristine purity... it reaches stage of enlightenment and finally salvation... the end of the journey!

Be it omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, what if jesus indian hindu god was one of us, name of
interview with conversation with Brahman, heavenly father... everything bogs down to... whether or
not we truly understand what god stands for!

Big Bang the big bang theory

Big Bang is that event in the history of the whole cosmos that without the big
bang... the existence of the present cosmos would never have been possible.

A cosmos without a Cosmos... it is only for an umpteenth moment of a

second... the time between the dissolution of cosmos
(called Pralaya inHinduism) and the start of a fresh Cosmos with the big bang
that there exists nothing but an absolute blank.

I get a lot of queries as to why the Cosmos was created by Almighty God in the
first place. What was the need to do that? If we define Godthen the things
would become pretty clear.

What is the Definition God? The sum total of all purified Souls Atmans in whole
Cosmos at a given moment of time is what we know as Almighty God. These
purified souls... the size of half a thumb as defined in the sacred Bhagavad
Gita (the doctrine put forward by Lord Krishnaat the time of Mahabharata, the
war of dharma) unable to contain themselves explode with the big bang.
This conceptualizes the start of the cosmos with a big bang. The explosion (the
big bang itself) is so massive that all Souls Atmans spread out with
unbelievable speeds in all directions. In the process on their way they collect
impurities.

As the prime property of any soul atman is to remain in pure pristine form... it
again starts on its journey of purification. This leads to the journey by a soul
atman through a chain of manifestations (a total of 8.4 million manifestations in
total)... the beginning of a cosmic life cycle. A total earthly journey of about
96.4 million years... a long journey indeed!

The sooner the big bang occurs... starts the journey of every soul atman to
come back to its pristine pure form. As any planet like Mother Earth is found
conducive for germination of any form of life... the Souls Atmans have their
day.

To purify them... every soul atman needs a body to work out its karma. And
what is karma? As defined in the Hindu sacred Scriptures and the Bhagavad
Gita, karma is the process by which every soul atman is able to cleanse itself
of the impurities contained within.

Similarly as the metal within an ore cannot separate itself on its own and
requires the requisite mining machinery and the process... likewise every soul
atman on its cosmic journey requires a body to work out its karma (i.e. remove
the dross from within).

This is how the need for creating a Cosmos arises. The big bang is not a
controlled feature. It happens on its own. The moment the dissolution of
cosmos occurs (called Pralaya in Hinduism)... the combined power of all the
souls (the size of half a thumb) unable to control it explodes with a big bang...
the start of a new journey... a new Cosmos!

Whatever logistics the various group of scientists put forward as to how the
Cosmos was created... some accept and some do not accept the theory of the
big bang... the facts and the truth remains the same. It is only through the
process of the big bang and only the big bang that formation of any new
Cosmos takes place.

Reduced to the basic building block of the whole Cosmos... the whole world
nay the whole Cosmos is but a cluster of atoms and molecules. It is pure
energy all around surrounded by ether... the black and the empty portion of the
cosmos.

Bhagavad Gita explains in minute details the complete formation of the cosmos
from the beginning to the end. Nothing is hidden... it is only when things are
perceived from the angle of absolute faith... the inner meaning of the concepts
explained in Bhagavad Gita become clear.

Bhagavad Gita is beyond the capture of senses and the mind. The prime
reason why majority of the scientists around the world have failed to learn of
the wisdom contained in the Bhagavad Gita. It is not purely logistics but also
the element of faith which is essential for learning what Bhagavad Gita has to
impart to the humanity.

One single document Bhagavad Gita explains it all. Where is the need for
various explanations in respect of the formation of the cosmos in the initial
stages? Any other occurrence other than the big bang theory does not stand a
chance. The occurrence of the big bang is directly related to the concept of
God Almighty. Unless and until one is able to digest the real meaning of God
Almighty... all theories and concepts would remain on paper.

The big bang theory is not a concept... it is a happening which occurs once in
the life of a Cosmos. The big bang announces the formation of a new Cosmos
and the dissolution of the last Cosmos. It is billions of years before the
dissolution of a Cosmos (called Pralaya in Hinduism) occurs.

The present scientific system which is controlled by the system of senses and
the mind cannot perceive anything beyond the present Cosmos. If one were to
know if there existed any other Cosmos prior to the present one... one needs to
study the pearls of wisdom contained in the Bhagavad Gita! Everything would
become crystal clear.

Does it also mean that at that time of the dissolution of cosmos (called Pralaya
in Hinduism) ... every single soul atman in whatever stage of manifestation
becomes enlightened... yes, it is so? Bhagavad Gita, the doctrine put forward
by Lord Krishna in the battle of Mahabharata confirms it.

Unless and until every single soul atman becomes enlightened and gains
Salvation Moksha in Hinduism... they shall not become pure and regain their
original pristine state. Unless that happens... the start of a new Cosmos with a
big bang cannot occur.

All the Souls Atmans after the dissolution of cosmos (called Pralaya in
Hinduism) occurs do not wait for long... it is imperative that all forms of life
reach the level of Enlightenment and finally Salvation Moksha in hinduism
immediately. Everything after the dissolution of cosmos (called Pralaya in
Hinduism) reduces to the size of just half a thumb. The massive power that the
whole Cosmos reducing to the size of half a thumb is beyond the
comprehension of senses!

This massive power unable to contain itself for long again explodes with a big
bang announcing the start of a new Cosmos.

Goddess Gayatri and gayatri mantra

Gayatri mantra is compulsorily recited by Brahmin (Especially in thread

ceremony) as their daily rituals to praise god to give wisdom and
enlightenment.

Origin of gayatri mantra

According to ancient scriptures, god gifted Sage vishwamitra this
Gayatri mantra for his eons of deep meditation and
penance. This was to be a gift for all humanity.
The Gayatri Mantra was first written in Sanskrit in the Rig
Veda. So keeping in mind that rigveda is atleast 10000
years old, one can safely say that gayatri mantra was
chanted at least before 8000 B.C.

Meaning of gayatri mantra

Gayatri mantra is derived from Sanskrit words:
gaya, meaning “vital energies” and
trâyte, meaning “protects , preserves, grants liberation , gives
deliverance”.

So, In a very simple language, gayatri mantra means "May the

divine light of the Supreme Being illuminate our intellect, to lead
us along a path of righteousness".

guide our intellect in the right direction.
Gayatrî Mantra recitation is often prefaced as a short invocation

More detailed elaboration

A - emerges from the throat, originating in the region of
the navel
U - rolls over the tongue
M - ends on the lips
A - waking, U - dreaming, M - sleeping
It is the sum and substance of all the words that can
emanate from the human throat. It is the primordial
fundamental sound symbolic of the Universal Absolute.
Word ‘Aum’ is also calledPranav because its sound
emanates from the Prana (vital vibration), which feels the
Universe.

Aum-Sound of universe

AUM is the primeval sound from which all sounds emerge;

AUM is metaphor for Source Energy or the Supreme Being.
Sound created due to the rotation of earth, planets and
galaxies is "AUM". Hence this sound "Aum" was agreed to
be the name of the God, since this sound is available in all
the three periods of time. Rishi Vishvamitra explained that
the formless God can be understood through the sound of
'Aum'.
"Gita" also mentions that, "Omiti ekaksharam brahma",
meaning that the name of the almighty God is Aum, which
contains only one syllable.

'Bhur' means the earth, 'Bhuvah' the planets and 'Swah'

means the Galaxy. So, collectively, om Bhur Bhuva Swaha
is a preamble to the main mantra which means that we
invoke the supreme being in our prayer and meditate
the One who is our creator(earth, planets and galaxy),
inspirer, and abode of supreme Joy.
The above three words of the Gayatri, literally means
"past," "present," and "future," are called Vyahrities.
Vyahriti is that which gives knowledge of entire cosmos or
"ahriti".
The terms bhur, bhuvas, suvaha (mahâ vyâhritis) are
invocations to honor the stages of our existence and to call
to our aid the presiding deities of the three planes in which
we live our ordinary life: the physical, astral and mental
planes.
Tat Savitur Varenyam Tat meaning THAT, again
representing the Supreme Being. Saviturmeaning, the
radiating source of life with the brightness of the Sun;
and Varenyam, meaning the most adorable, most
desirable.
Bhargo Devasya Deemah: Bhargo meaning splendor and
luster, Devasya meaning divine or supreme
and Deemahi meaning “We meditate upon”. It is advised
to meditate upon the light of stars and perform the 'Aum'
Japnam,to know the formless Creator. But the human mind
being very restless cannot concentrate or meditate without
the blessings of Lord Brahma

Deeyo Yo Naha, Prachodayaa : Deeyo meaning our

understanding of reality, our intellect, our
intention. Yo meaning He Who, and Naha meaning Our.
Finally, Prachodayaat, meaning May he Inspire, Guide. O
Almighty God ! Please give us the power to use our
intellect in the right direction

How to chant gayatri mantra

If you intend to chant Gayatri mantra, it is very important
to chant it correctly not only in pronunciation but also in
intent and integrity. This also means that one needs to
understand the meaning of gayatri mantra before they
start chanting. Gayatri mantra is said to carry tremendous
power if chanted correctly with good intention and pure

Om Bhur Bhuva Swaha (Om Bhoor Bhoova Swa-Ha)

Om Tat Savitur Varenyam (Om Tat Sa-Vidoor Va-rain-yam)
Bhargo Devasya Deemahi (Bhaargo They-Vas-Ya Dee-Mahi)
Deeyo Yo Naha, Prachodayaat (Thee-Yo Yo-Na-Ha, Pra-Cho-Da-Yaat)

Gayatri Mantra

What it means to you:

As per the vedas, there exist seven spheres or planes or
realms of existence, each spiritually advanced than the
previous one. It is said that through spiritual deeds and
development, one progressively advances through the
seven realm at the end of which one merge with the
Supreme god.
Hindus considers Gayatri mantra as a divine awakening of
the individual soul (Atma) and mind, and the easiest way
to unite with the supreme god- Brahman. Understanding
and chanting Gayatri Mantra is considered as the most
powerful mantra of realizing God.
Chanting this mantra enlighten the divine light of these
seven chakras thus experiencing directly the seven
spiritual spheres of existence.

Effects of gayatri mantra on human body

The Vedas say:

Chanting Gayatri Mantra purifies the chanter. Listening Gayatri Mantra purifies the listener.

Ancient sages selected the words of Gayatri mantra carefully and arranged them in such a way
that they not only had good meaning but also create amazing vibrations inside the body thus
enlightening the powers of righteous wisdom. Vedic scriptures describe many sages attaining
spiritual powers and enlightenment by deep meditation and consistent chanting of this gayatri
mantra. Even spiritual practitioners, scientists and meta-physicists are studying and analyzing the
effects of gayatri mantra on human mind and body. Even Nasa uses the word AUM to transmit it
through the universe to attract inhabitants of other planets (aliens)
Recent research has said that the continuous chanting of this mantra stimulates the power centers
located in your subtle body. Continuous enunciation of twenty four syllables of Gayatri Mantra
creates a resonating effect on the threads and nerves of the human body. Pronouncing gayatri
mantra creates a pressure on lips, tongue, palate, vocal cord and its connecting areas around the
brain to generate the musical flow energizing the sensory energy centers. Continuous repetition of
Gayatri Mantra creates a magnetic charge to link the mind with supernatural power currents."
Effect of gayatri mantra

References to ancient scriptures

The Upanisads (secret texts) of Hinduism contain several
references to the Gayatri Mantra.
Let us see some of them
1) This entire creation is Gayatri. And the Gayatri is speech - for speech sings (gayati) and
protects (trayati) this entire creation. Gayatri indeed is all this, whatever being exists. Speech indeed
is Gayatri; for speech indeed sings and removes fear of all this that exists.- Chandogya Upanisad
3.12.1
2) That which is this Gayatri, even that is this earth; for on this earth are all the beings established
Chandogya Upanisad 3.12.2
and they do not transcend it.-
3) This well-known Gayatri is four-footed and sixfold.-
Chandogya Upanisad 3.12.5
Origin of Bhur Bhuvah Svah explained from Chandogya
Upanisad 4.17.1-6
1. Prajapati (the progenitor of the worlds) brooded on the three
worlds. From them he extracted their essences; fire from the
earth, air from the sky and the sun from heaven.
2. He further brooded on these three deities. From them he
extracted their essences: the Riks (Rg-veda) from fire, the Yajus-
mantras (Yajur-veda) from air, and the Saman (Sama-veda) from
the sun.
3. He brooded on the three Vedas. From them he extracted their
existences; Bhuh from the Riks, Bhuvah from the Yajus-mantras
and Svah from the Samans.
4-6. Therefore if the sacrifice is rendered defective on account of
the Riks (or Yajus or Samans), then with the Mantra ‘Bhuh Svaha’
(or 'Bhuvah Svaha' or 'Svah Svaha'), the Brahman priest should
offer an oblation in the fire. Thus verily, through the essence of
the Riks (or Yajus or Samans), through the virility of the Riks (or
Yajus or Samans), he makes good the injury of the sacrifice in
respect of the Riks (or Yajus or Samans).

Brahadaranyaka Upanisad 5.14.4 (Gayatri as the

Protector)
The Gayatri Mantra is based on truth. For truth is based on
strength. Strength is breath, and is based on breath. So, Gayatri
protects (tra) the wealth (gaya) (the breath!) of those who speak
it with earnestness and devotion. When one recites Gayatri on
behalf of someone, it protects that person's breath too!

Devotee of gayatri mantra (Gayatri mantra tattoo has become very popular in
western countries). More tattoos can be found here

Brahadaranyaka Upanisad 5.14.5 (Four 'foots' of the

Gayatri)
This verse talks about the unbounded wealth contained within the
four 'foots' of the Gayatri Mantra.

The Gayatri Mantra is the Universal Prayer enshrined in the

Vedas, the most ancient Scriptures of Man. -SATHYA SAI BABA
The Gayatri Mantra is a Prayer that can well be spoken with
yearning by men and women of all creeds and climes in all
centuries. Repetition of this Mantra will develop the Intelligence. -
