CHAPTER III

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This chapter presented the method of research used, the respondents of the

study, the instrument utilized in this investigation, the data gathering adopted and

the statistical treatment to the data that were obtained in the study.

Research Design

To support the purpose of this study, to identify the perception of grade 11

students, Senior High school on the implementing rules and regulation in canteen

services, to the descriptive method of research that will be utilized in the study.

The researches consider that it is proper to use because the study was concerned

with the existing conditions, practices, needs and performances of the sample. It is

the most appropriate method to be used since a self-constructed questionnaire was

utilized to obtain the data needed.

Descriptive method of research was used to obtain the information concerning

the current status of the phenomena to describe what exist with respect to variables

or conditions in a situation. The methods involved range from the survey which

describes the descriptive study which investigates one variable to developmental

studies which seek to determine changes over time.


Subject of the Study

To bear reliable and precise result, the researcher chose the total population of

(40) respondents from grade 11 students of different tracks, strands and section.

The sampling method used in this study was the descriptive-analytic method.

Research Instrument

The researchers conducted a survey by using a survey questionnaire

answerable by YES or NO. The instrument focused on the implementing rules and

regulation of school canteen’s services. With the help of the internet and the

concepts, principles and knowledge learned in other plus the researchers own

experiences and personal observation, appropriate items for the questionnaire were

made and then validated by the researcher’s thesis teacher and the school’s

principal.

Data Gathering Procedure

A schedule for distributing and answering the survey instrument was requested

to the principal, to the respondents and to the thesis teacher. Before the

respondents have answered the instruments, short explanations for each item were

given. Soon after the respondents accomplish the questionnaire it was retrieved on

the same day.

After the data were tallied, statistical treatment was applied through the use of

the formula prescribe. Afterward, the verbal interpretations of the result were
determined. This result were tabulated, read interpreted, and given the

implications.

After conducting the study, the result were used by the researchers and made

necessary conclusion, recommendation and action plan.
