The manufacturer is responsible for ensuring that the equipment is designed and constructed in accordance with the specifications and codes referred to on the requisition and/or
drawings. Furthermore, the manufacturer is responsible for ensuring that the design, including thicknesses of pressure parts, is satisfactory for the design conditions indicated
on the requisition and/or drawings. Calculations and thicknesses of material supplied to the manufacturer are for information and tendering purposes only. The manufacturer shall
make his own calculations for which he is fully responsible. The manufacturer shall ensure that the equipment supplied conforms to all applicable codes and national statutory

2 (1) Dimensions are in millimeters, unless otherwise noted.
3 (2) This mechanical data sheet shall be read in conjunction with CMI Process Datasheet for 1450-H-001 H2 Purification Heater (Ref: RAPID-P028B-CMI-PRO-TDS-1450-0055).
4 (3) The equipment manufacturer has to advise thickness and weights considering all loads combination as specified in Project Specifications.
5 The manufacturer shall be responsible for the mechanical design integrity of the equipment.
6 (4) Bolt holes of the nozzles and girth flanges shall always straddle the natural centerlines of the equipment.
7 (5) External bolts / nuts shall be Fluorocarbon coated as per PTS 30.48.00.31-P.
8 (6) Heating elements shall be in accordance with PTS 33.68.30.33 "Electrical Process Heaters".
9 (7) This minimum power requirement obtained by modifying the flow rate only.
10 (8) Turndown corresponding to 40% of MAX Gasoline SOR/EOR duty (operation at turndown flowrate). Inlet and outlet temperatures of the heater are kept constant.
11 Vendor to make sure that the temperature control will be suitable for both maximum and minimum flowrate.
12 (9) Design duty corresponding to 174% of normal duty (Tin = 183°C - Tout = 240°C), resulting from operation at design flowrate.
13 (10) Maximum duty corresponding to 100% MAX LPG - EOR duty + 5% of Purification F/E Exchanger duty at normal flowrate (Tin = 195°C - Tout = 293 °C).
14 (11) Maximum continuous hydrogen partial pressure = 39.7 bara (ALL CASES). Additional requirements of hydrogen service as per PTS are applicable and shall be complied.
15 Materials shall be in accordance with API RP 941 and Axens Specification IN-042.1.
16 (12) Design flowrate = 270 kg/hr corresponding to 100% of MAX LPG - EOR case + 36% overdesign (resulting from Hot H2 Stripping operation). Turndown flowrate = 56.4 kg/hr
17 corresponding to 40% of MAX gasoline SOR/EOR case.
18 (13) 0.3 bar allowable pressure drop to be based on design flowrate.
19 (14) By heater vendor with a minimum of 340°C.
20 (15) Diameter and flange class of the inlet/outlet lines connected to the heater.

23 (18) Heater power rating must be such that heater power calculated at max tolerance of heating elements ohmic value and under min voltage (i.e nominal voltage less tolerance %)

25 (19) Heaters will be mounted horizontally (as per plot plan RAPID-P028B-CMI-PIP-DWG-1450-0001/0002/0003).
26 (20) No segmental baffles are allowed (suitable spacers to be provided).
27 (21) There should be a minimum thermal spacing between the heater terminal box and the process flange of 150 mm. When heater is mounted vertically, the requirement
28 to increase the thermal spacing or to utilise heat shields between the process flange and the terminal box should be considered by the manufacturer, to
29 ensure that the terminal box temperature does not exceed 65°C.
30 (22) Insulation between resistive wire and sheathing to be magnesium oxide (MgO) of high purity for high temperature applications. After heating element bending,
31 manufacturer will compress the bent part in order to recover the MgO density.
32 (23) Special precautions to be taken during heating element fabrication to ensure a regular pitch of the resistive wire (manufacturer to be able to provide X-Rays examination
33 of heating element before assembly on tube sheet).
34 (24) The complete heater should be certified by notified body (LCIE, BASEEFA, ISSEP, etc…). The heater terminal box should be suitably sized
to accept incoming cables
35 as advised by the EPCC contractor.
36 (25) Heaters will be delta or star connected (preferably delta).
37 (26) Spacers parts in contact with heating elements to be same material as heating elements.
38 (27) EPCC contractor to confirm the material selection for the electrical heater.
39 (28) ASME Div. 2 is selected as construction code as per PTS 31.22.20.31 Clause 2.2 and Annex X.
40 (29) The User of the pressure vessel is Petronas Refinery and Petrochemical Corporation (PRPC) Sdn Bhd. The User is the Purchaser of the pressure vessel. Vendor acting as
41 agent on behalf of the Purchaser is responsible to provide a certified User's Design Specification for this pressure vessel.
42 (30) Cr-Mo material shall be normalised and tempered or quenched and tempered (quenched and tempered for heads), vacuum degassed and aluminum killed.
43 The maximum P content in the chemical composition shall not exceed 0.005% wt. Additional requirements of PTS 31.22.20.31, Annex X shall be complied including
44 API RP 934-C amended by, RAPID-FE1-TPX-MCI-SPN-0001-0108.
45 (31) Cr-Mo material shall be impact tested at -18°C in accordance to API RP 934-C, or the Licensor's specification, whichever is more stringent.
46 (32) Cable gland size will be finalized during detailed engineering by EPCC contractor.
