Benjamin K.

Homan steps down as president of Food for the Hungry

Global ministry names new leadership; Homan accepts presidency at John Stott Ministries

Food for the Hungry, a faith-based international relief and development organization, announced today
that Benjamin K. Homan is stepping into a new role as president of John Stott Ministries (JSM).

JSM is part of a global network that emerged from the ministry of All Souls Church, an Anglican
congregation in London. Its founder, John Stott, the best-selling author and long-time rector of All
Souls Church, also served as chaplain to Queen Elizabeth.

From 2001 to 2010, Homan led the global work of Food for the Hungry, championing the ministry’s
vision of meeting the physical and spiritual needs of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people.
He brings this same passion to his leadership role with JSM, as well as his commitment to equipping
local and national churches around the world for effective ministry.

Homan will be replaced in the U.S. by David Evans, who is a member of the three-person Global
Executive Office that shepherds Food for the Hungry’s work in 26 countries. In this role, he is
responsible for the development of resources, programs and partnerships in support of Food for the
Hungry’s international field activities. Joining Evans in the Global Executive Office are Luis Noda,
Global Executive for Field Operations; and Peter Mawditt, Global Executive for Strategic Services.
Noda is based in Latin America, while Mawditt serves the organization from the U.K.

Prior to this position, Evans managed and directed Food for the Hungry’s portfolio of government-
funded initiatives. This includes grant programs such as food security and agriculture, health and
nutrition, HIV/AIDS care and prevention, water and sanitation, education, microenterprise, and
disaster relief. Evans’ expertise in relief and development is a result of years of hands-on work in
Africa, Latin America and Asia.

Commenting on his new position, Evans said, “I am honored to have the opportunity to serve with
Food for the Hungry in this new capacity. It’s a very challenging role, and I am thankful for the
exemplary leadership that Ben modeled for all our staff and volunteers around the world. We wish him
the best in his new position as president of John Stott Ministries.”

When asked about how he feels about his transition from Food for the Hungry to JSM, Homan said,
“As I look ahead toward serving the Lord through John Stott Ministries, my soul is deeply confident in
the integrity of the current Food for the Hungry leaders who will continue to advance the vision of the
ministry. They are rock-solid and ready. In fact, one of my great joys in leading Food for the Hungry is
the incredible amount of bright and extraordinary people serving with this ministry around the world.”
