To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter on behalf of Ashleigh Oliver, who was an outstanding student in my United States
History class at El Capitan High School. In class, Ms. Oliver has conducted herself with respect for her
fellow classmates and showed an interest in the subject matter by earning one of the highest grades in the
class.

Ashleigh comes to class prepared and ready to learn. She is both a team leader and a team player
completing group projects and assignments with excellence. She shows thoughtfulness in her responses
and projects. She is an absolute joy to have as a student. She has also been a committed four year AVID
(Advancement Via Individual Determination) student, requiring a rigorous academic schedule
culminating in an acceptance into college. Ashleigh has maintained a solid 3.6 GPA.

As an athlete at El Capitan High School, Ms. Oliver is driven and dedicated, she has competed in
volleyball during the school year and summer programs. Early on as a freshman, Ashleigh’s coach knew
she exhibited leadership skills choosing her to be the team captain.

Besides being a student-athlete, Ashleigh has been involved in her community by volunteering for various
community events over the past four years. During her senior year, despite all of her academic demands,
Ashleigh also worked a part-time job.

I highly recommend Ms. Ashleigh Oliver for the scholarship your outstanding organization is offering as
she is truly a standout student-athlete at ECHS. She will be the first in her family to attend college with
the goal of becoming a nurse! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at
spetty@muhsd.org.

Sincerely,
