INFORMATION
Place Orders for Margin Users

Margin Trading lets you purchase stocks with borrowed

money from a broker. To trade on margin, you need to

have a 'margin account' as opposed to a regular 'cash
account' from which you trade using the money in the
account. Margin is a high-risk strategy that can return a
huge profit if executed correctly!

There are two ways to place a margin order. If you place a

'Day' margin order, it is valid until the end of a trading
day, and if you place an 'Overnight' margin order, it is
valid until it meets a match on any day.

In the New Order window, the Day Order tick is enabled

by default during two instances;

i). If your account is only Day Margin enabled, Or,

ii). If your account is Day Margin and Overnight margin

enabled.

When this tick is enabled, Day margin buying power gets

calculated and it will be utilized when placing a trade.
After you placed a Day Margin order, it is displayed
highlighted in Red in the Order List. However, in the
second instance, if you do not wish to place a Day Margin
order, you can deselect the Day Order switch and execute

an Overnight Margin order.

Note: The Day Order switch is disabled if your account is

only Overnight Margin enabled.

Symbol Comparison lets you draw a complete comparison up to

four symbols from multiple exchanges. If you are interested in

comparing how other securities in the same market or different
markets are performing, including their ups and downs, you
can use the Symbol Comparison and analyze everything
required by comparing them.

Note: The local currency of a symbol is used when comparing

symbols from multiple markets.

The comparisons are done in following main categories:

Company Overview, Price/Trade Information and Chart. By

following the Chart Comparison, you can quickly identify the
performance of symbols that you are associating.

In the Symbol Comparison module, there are three specific

templates (templates are defined based on the Sector/Industry
of the symbol) such as Industrial, Banking and Insurance to
identify the symbols you enter. A fourth template called
General is also used for the rest of the symbols that do not fall
into above three categories. For each template type, there is a
list of attributes / features that can be compared. Therefore, if
you have entered symbols from the same template, these
attributes can be compared and present you accurate results.
Symbol Comparison
In case if you have entered symbols from different templates,

it is not possible to compare all attributes / features across all

the templates and will not provide you precise information.

Figure 1 - Symbol Comparison

PROCEDURETo compare symbols:

1. On the Analysis menu click Symbol Comparison.

2. In the Add Symbol field, type the required symbol

codes one by one and select them from the search

results.

3. As mentioned in the above step, you can add any

number of symbols, but only 4 symbols can be selected

(by ticking the check box on the Select column) to

compare at once.

The data related to the selected symbols will be

displayed allowing you to start comparison.

Notes:

· In case if you enter a symbol belonging to a different

template type to the one that was initially set, a notification
message displays stating that the symbol being added does
not belong to the first symbol's template and the
comparisons should be ideally made within a same
template. (This will not be applicable to the General
template type.)

· You will have the option to add another symbol from the
same template or to keep your original choice. If you select
to continue with the original choice, you will be notified that
symbols compared in this way may not produce accurate
results.
Using Options Calculator you can evaluate whether an

option is over or under-valued, risks, and the possible

future worth of an option based on your outlook of price,
time and volatility. It helps you calculate the Theoretical
Price of an option using the Black-Scholes and Cox-Ross
Rubnstein models. In addition to the Theoretical Price, the

Black-Scholes model calculates various dimensions of risk

involved in taking a position in an option known as the
options' Greeks. Each risk variable is a result of an
assumption or relationship of the option with another
underlying variable.

The interpretation of Greeks:

· Delta represents the price sensitivity, the rate of

change between the option's price and the underlying
asset's price.

· Theta is measure of how much an option's price decays

over time with the price of the underlying security and
implied Volatility remaining unchanged.

· Gamma represents the rate of change in an options

price with respect to the underlying asset's price.

· Vega is a measure of change in an option's price in

response to a percentage point change in Volatility. The
volatility of the stock prices measures the uncertainty
about the future stock price movement. As volatility
Option Calculator
increases, the chances that a stock will do very well or
very poor increases. As a result the value of both calls
and puts increase as volatility increases.

· Rho represents the rate of change between an option 's

price and the interest rate. It is found that while put
option prices decline as the risk free interest rate
increases, the prices of calls always increase as the risk
free interest rate increases.

Furthermore you can view the following values:

· Breakeven Price - This is the market price the stock

must reach for the option buyer to avoid a loss if they
exercise. For a call, it is the strike price plus the premium
paid. For a put, it is the strike price minus the premium
paid.

· Intrinsic Value - This is the value that any given option

would have if it were exercised today. It is defined as the
difference between the option's strike price and the
stock's actual current price. In the case of a call option,
this is the difference between the underlying stock's price
and the strike price. If the strike price is greater than the
current stock price, then the intrinsic value of the option
is zero--it would not be worth anything if it were to be
exercised today. For put options, it is the difference
between the strike price and the underlying stock's price.

· Time Value - This is the second component of an options

price. It is defined as any value of an option other than
its intrinsic value. Imagine that ABC 100 call is being
traded at Rs. 7 and the Intrinsic Value of the option is Rs.
5. Then, this option has a Time Value of Rs. 2.

Figure 1 - Option Calculator

PROCEDURETo calculate Options Value:

1. On the Analysis menu click Option Calculator.

In the Option Calculator window:

2. Enter the symbol. When you selected the symbol, Days

Until Expiration, Strike Price and the Spot Price will be
shown in the relevant fields. However, you can change
these details as required.

3. Select the Option Type from the drop-down menu.

· Put - Call Option gives the option buyer the right to

buy
· Call - Put Option gives the option buyer the right to sell

4. Select the Days Until Expiration from the drop-down

menu.

Days Until Expiration - number of days left to the

expiry of the option. Both put and call American options
become more valuable as the time to expiration
increases. If two options exist that only differ from their

expiration date, the owner of the long life position has all
the exercise opportunities open in comparison to the
short life position holder.

5. select the Strike Price from the drop-down menu.

Strike Price - the price at which an option can be

exercised. In the case of a call as the strike price
increases, the stock price has to make an upward move
for the option to go in-the-money. Therefore, for a call

option, as the strike price increases, options become less

valuable. Put options behave the opposite way.

6. Type the Spot Price, the price at which the underlying

asset is traded.

7. Enter the Interest Rate (%), the current interest rate

of short-dated government bond. It is found that while
put option prices decline as the risk free interest rate
increases, the prices of calls always increase as the risk
free interest rate increases.

8. Enter the Dividend Yield (%) if any. Cash dividends

affect option prices through their effect on the

underlying stock price. Because the stock price is

expected to drop by the amount of the dividend on the
ex-dividend date, it has a negative effect on the value of
the call options and a positive effect on the value of the
put options.

9. Enter the Volatility (%), the extent to which the

return of the underlying asset will fluctuate between now
and the option's expiration

10. Select the Calculation Method from the drop-down

menu.

Notes:

· If you select Cox-Ross Rubnstein, enter the No. of

Steps.

· Cox-Ross Rubnstein method provides only the

Theoretical Price of the option.

11. Click Calculate. The relevant information is displayed

in the window.

Note: The output values are displayed only for the options
that are in-the-money.

Order Types

DESCRIPTIONMarket Order - You can execute your order quickly as

the order is matched to the best selling or buying price
available in the market at a given point of time.

E.g. imagine that the best offer for AJMANBANK is AED

0.92. If you place a Market Order to buy stocks of
AJMANBANK, then you will pay a price near AED 0.92 for
a stock.

Limit Order - In a Limit Order you can set the maximum

buying price or the minimum selling price. The order will
be executed at the specified price or better. By this means
you can indicate the price the customer wants to pay or
receive for buying or selling shares.

E.g. imagine that the best offer for AJMANBANK is AED

0.92. If you place a Limit Order to buy stocks of
AJMANBANK at AED 0.87, then your order will get
executed only if the stock price is reached AED 0.87 or
below.

Stop Market Order - A Stop Market Order is an order to

buy or sell a stock once the price of the stock reaches a
specified price, known as the Stop Price. When the
specified price is reached, your Stop Order becomes a
Market Order and is executed at the best available price.

· Buying or Covering a Short: Stop Price must be higher

than current price.

A Buy Stop Market Order is used to keep the buy price

below a certain level. It stops the investor from losing
money by specifying a price the broker should buy at, thus
protecting themselves from the danger of the price rising
too high. This is particularly useful for the investor selling
a 'stock short, in which borrowed stock is sold with the
aim to buy it back at a lower price.

E.g. imagine that you sold 10,000 AJMANBANK at AED

1.12 short, hoping the stock price goes down so that you
can give the borrowed shares back at a lower price. To
limit your risk you can place a Buy Stop Market Order
with the Stop Price at AED 1.18 in case if the stock price
increase. If the offer price of the stock increases and
surpasses AED 1.18, your Buy Stop Market Order is
triggered to save you from further losses and the order is
executed at the best available price.

· Selling or Shorting: Stop Price must be lower than

current price.

A Sell Stop Market Order sells stock at the best price

available if it declines below a price you specified.

Stop Limit Order - A Stop Limit Order is an order that

combines the features of a Stop Order and a Limit Order.
It is an order to buy a security at no more (or sell at no
less) than a specified Limit Price. Once the Stop Price is
reached, the Stop Limit Order becomes a Limit Order to
buy or to sell at a specified price. This gives the trader
some control over the price at which the trade is
executed, but may prevent the order from being executed.

The benefit of a Stop Limit Order is that the investor can

control the price at which the trade will get executed. But,
as with all Limit Orders, a Stop Limit Order may never get
filled if the stock's price never reaches the specified limit
price. This may happen especially in fast-moving markets
where prices fluctuate wildly.

These types of orders are useful to limit the risk involved

in trading.

· Buying or Covering a Short: Stop Price must be higher

than current price. The order will be executed by the
exchange at the Limit Price or lower.

· Selling or Shorting: Stop Price must be lower than

current price. The order will be executed by the
exchange at the Limit Price or higher.

E.g. imagine that you bought 10,000 AJMANBANK at AED

1.12 but now that the market is going down you decide to
sell it with the hope of purchasing it at a lower price later.
Since no one can predict the market movement, you place
a Sell Stop Limit Order with the Stop Price at AED 1.00
and to limit your risk, you put a Limit Price at AED 0.97. If
the offer price of the stock decreases and surpasses AED
1.00, your Sell Stop Limit Order is triggered and the order
is executed at AED 0.97 or higher.
