Even after all that, with the world over, and just beginning to stagger to its feet again, like a
broken drunk, something amazing happened:

turrets, and razor wire. At first, they said it was to keep out the walkers, but everyone knew the
truth. It was to keep out the poor. Keep out the dregs. We weren’t good enough for their ritzy
city. We had been touched by the wastes, the infection. Hah. What those fucks really feared was
that we were touched by poverty.
Inside, a bustling mecca formed, thriving commerce and all that shit. The Purebloods bought
jewels and gems, clothing and makeup. Status became king, and the more shit you had, the more
power you had. When you had all the fucking swag, that’s when they knew you were legit. They built
buildings of mirrored glass, had power and running water. They had a paradise designed to keep
their big money deals and big businesses safe. Their purity was saved. Yet with all the glitz and
glamor, they never saw themselves becoming the zombies.
From their hill they cast judgment down on us. We were the workers, the backs on which they
had built their fucking empires. They made rules, and made deals, that not only affected us, but
murdered us. Killed us. On their hill they lost touch with reality, and lost touch with their
humanity and lost touch with their sanity. What’s a gold grill gonna get you other than jumped?
You think a fucking zombie gives a fuck about your gold chain? They may have been safer, wealthier,
and better fed, but they certainly were not “pure.” They’re a fucking disease.

Like so many things in the wasteland, drinking enhancing tonics comes with a price. Any time a
survivor utilizes an addictive compound or brew, they must make a Resolve test. Failure indicates
that the substance has taken hold of their inner drives, and their body will begin to crave the
substance, mentally or physically. Addictions are rarely truly overcome, though with some help
from other chemicals, they can be held at bay. When a survivor gain’s an Addiction, note the
specific brew that created it. The new addiction is gained as a Minor Addiction (weekly need). If
the drinker fails their resolve a second time, this becomes a Major Addiction (daily need).
An experimental blend produced in the Sans Califia Archipelago’s southern stretch, made
Mezcavino 12 UPP from agave. This potent alcohol is highly addictive, but grants it’s imbiber a +1 Dice
benefit on all Brawn based checks for one hour, while imposing a -1 Dice penalty to all
Wiles based skill checks for 1 hour.
This small shot flecked with gold chips is popular among mercenaries. Something in it’s
Golden Ray 25 UPP brewing process combined with the golden chips within gives the drinker’s melee swings
a certain extra punch. If the drinker successfully deals damage with a melee weapon,
they inflict 2 additional points of damage automatically.

Neevil’s Liquid 25 UPP Liquid courage is a classic snake oil sold by countless trader’s across the wasteland
exported from the shattered shores. The drinker gains +2 Resolve when resisting any
Courage fear based effects for 30 minutes. Oddly enough, it’s not addictive, but given it’s
popularity, it might as well be.
This berry based elixir is a reknown restorative, said to accelerate the natural
Summertide Elixir 55 UPP healing processes of the body. The drinker immediately heals 2 wounds, and each disease
or toxin currently afflicting them is cured on a 1d10 roll of 4 or better.
Cold-Turkey Tonic 5 UPP While it doesn’t cure an addiction, Cold Turket Tonic “counts as” any other addictive
substance for purposes of appeasing the Addiction. The catch is that it only sates the
need for a day instead of a week.
This sweet and somewhat sticky brew is a curative invented by the Natural Ones of the
Agave Tea 25 UPP Coyote Reef. The drinker enters into a trance like coma filled with all manners of
strange dreams and hallucinations for 10 minutes after drinking, but upon waking with

Difficulty 2 Endurance check to resist the effect of the Paralysis poison, otherwise, the victim will

combers. Survivors need to be careful when fighting these creatures, as their talons and beaks
are often coated in a thin sea slime from their prey that can be quite infectious, and some
scholars have theorized the strange ooze may be a distant relative of the z-plague.
