®
Product Sikagard -PW is a two component, solvent free, non-toxic epoxy coating with
outstanding mechanical and chemical properties.
Description
Suitable for use in hot and tropical climatic conditions.
Construction

Uses For heavy duty protective coatings for concrete, wood floors and metal structures,
subjected to chemical attack. It is approved for contact with potable water and for
food processing and pharmaceutical industries.
Advantages  Approved for direct contact with potable water.
 Easy to clean, tough glossy finish.
 Very good resistance to a wide range of chemicals and corrosive vapours.
 Non-toxic approved for food contact.
 Excellent mechanical properties.
 May be used as part of bridging lamination systems.
 Produced in several colours.
 Sewage resistant

Product Data
Form Two component (A + B) epoxy resin
Appearance / Colours Blue and White colours available.
Packaging 20 kg units (16 kg Part A + 4 kg Part B).

Storage
Storage Conditions Store in unopened, undamaged and sealed original packaging in dry conditions at
temperatures between +5°C and +30°C. Protect from direct UV light and heat.
Shelf Life 12 months minimum from date of production if stored correctly in unopened,
undamaged and sealed original packaging.

Application Details
Mixing Ratio (A : B) = (4 : 1) by wt.

Consumption 3 - 4m /kg depending upon substrate condition.
For a theoretical dry film thickness of 200 micron (0.2 mm) approx. 0.32 kg/m2
Surface Preparation Concrete substrate: Dry, clean and free from loose particles.
Steel substrate: Sand blast, grit blast, or any other efficient method and ensure that
all traces of rust are removed.
Steel surfaces should be primed using a suitable Sika® Permacor® anti-corrosion
primer.
Mixing Stir the contents of the resin (Part A) to dispense settled components, then add the
hardener (Part B) and mix thoroughly until a uniform consistency is obtained.
Application Method By airless spraying or roller or stiff brush.

Application Apply first coat of Sikagard -PW with a stiff brush or roller to obtain a continuous
uniform thickness.
Apply the second coat within the re-coating interval to achieve the maximum
adhesion between the two coats.
Further coats may be applied to enhance the protective performance of the system.

Cleaning Tools and equipment should be cleaned with Sika Thinner immediately after use.
Notes on Application / Moisture content < 4%.
Limitations Observe dew point. Substrate temperature must be 3°C above measured dewpoint.

Minimum application temperature for Sikagard -PW is 5°C.

For cold weather application it is recommended to store Sikagard -PW in a warm
warehouse and only removed for use immediately before application.
Accelerated heating methods are forbidden.
