1. WHY IM WRITING THIS:

Once again the blessed month of Rabiulawwal is upon us. The month of mercy and blessing for
Muslims throughout the world, for it is in this month that Almighty Allah sent his beloved
Messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him) to this world.

The Most Beloved Prophet Muhammad (Salla Allahu Ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam) is the highest,
most perfect human being. He is the First to be created, the First to be mentioned, the First to be
honored.

Hadrat Ismail Hiqqi (Rahimuhullah) said:

To celebrate Mawlid is amongst the great tributes to Prophet (salallaho alaihi wasalam), but the
condition is that it should be clear of evil things.

Imam Suyuti (rah) has said: It is Mustahab for us to be happy on birth of Prophet (salallaho alaihi
wasalam) [Tafsir Ruh ul Bayan, Volume 9, Page No. 52]

Nowadays, we find publications filled with lies and deception which mislead many Muslims into
thinking negatively about the honorable Mawlid of the Most Beloved Prophet Salla Allahu Ta'ala
alayhi wa Sallam. These publications claim that to celebrate the Mawlid is an act of innovation
that goes against Islam. This is far from the truth. For those people who think its innovation
(biddah) plz read this topic

https://www.facebook.com/notes/prophet-muhammad-saw-the-last-and-greatest-of-all-
prophets/what-is-biddah-innovation/10151628923229918

It is with this humble intention that I present the following proofs in support of celebrating our
Most Beloved Prophet's Salla Allahu Ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam birthday as milad is nothing but
praising Rasool Allah(SAW).

2. PROVES FROM QURAN AND HADEES:

First of all lets see what is the importance of the day when a Prophet is born according to Quran.

i.QURAN
(1) Surah Marium [19:15]..(Allah telling about Hazrat Yahya(John))..."And peace be on
him the day he was born, the day he dies, and the day he will be raised up to life (again)!

(2) Surah Marium [19:33]..(Hazrat Esa's words).."And Salam (peace) be upon me, the day
I was born, and the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive!"

The above two verses of Quran surely tells that a day when a Prophet of Allah is born is a special
day. It is not like any other day. These are the days when Allah send his mercy on people.

Now an obvious question is. "if these are special days then what to do in these days? Should we
pass these days just like normal days or we should do some thing special? lets found its answer
from Quran.

(3) Surah Younis [10:58]..."Say "In the bounty of Allah. And in His Mercy, in that let them
rejoice" that is better than the (wealth) they gather."

Imam Ibn al-Jawzi (rah) explains 10:58 in his Tafsir:

.‫ رواه الضحاك عن ابن عباس‬،‫ محمد صلى هللا عليه وسلم‬:‫ ورحمته‬،‫ العلم‬:‫أن فضل هللا‬

Translation: ad-Dhahak narrated from Ibn Abbas (ra) that Bounty mentioned in this verse means
Knowledge (i.e of Qur'an and Tawhid) whereas Mercy means Muhammad (Salallaho alaihi
wasalam)

[Ibn Jawzi Z'ad al Maseer fi Ilm at Tafsir, (4/40)]

Imam Abu Hayyan al Andalusi (Rahimuhullah) also says:

‫الفضل العلم والرحمة محمد صلى هللا عليه وسلم‬

Translation: Bounty refers to Knowledge whereas Mercy refers to Muhammad (salallaho alaihi
wasalam)
[Tafsir Al-Bahr al Muheet, (5/171)]

Imam Jalal uddin Suyuti (Rahimuhullah) says

means Allah Abu Sheikh (rah) narrated from Ibn Abbas (RA) That Bounty of .]107 :‫[األنبياء‬
Allah Ta'ala said: )wasalam Knowledge, whereas Mercy means Muhammad (Salallaho alaihi
)Anbiya: 107 Worlds (Al We have sent thee not but as Mercy to

[As-Suyuti in Dur al Manthur (4/330)]

Allama Aloosi (rah) explains that even Fadhl (i.e. bounty) refers to Prophet Muhammad
(salallaho alaihi wassalam) ‫الفضل بالنبـي عليه الصالة والسالم وأخرج الخطيب وابن عساكر عنه تفسير‬

Narrated by Al Khatib (rah) and Ibn Asakir (rah) that Bountry refers to An-Nabi (Alaih Salatu
Wassalam) [Al-Alusi in Ruh al Ma’ani (11/141)]

Okay so Allah is saying to rejoice on the days when Allah bless people with his special mercy
which is when a prophet is born, he dies. and he will be raised again.

Now the above verses were about Prophet Yahya and Prophet Esa as. What about our Prophet
Muhammad? About that in Quran Allah says

(4) Surah Al Ambia [21:107]..."And We have sent you (O Muhammad SAW) not but as a
mercy for the Alameen (mankind, jinns and all that exists(whole universe))."

All prophets are blessings of Allah but Allah says that Muhammad peace be upon is the mercy to
whole universe. So if birthdays of other prophets are days of mercy and should be celebrated
then Our prophet Muhammad (peace be upon Him) have more right to be celebrated. The birth
days of other prophets are also blessed ones..so how come the birthday of Rasool Allah(SAW)
who is the greatest of all prophets can not be celebrated where he is the biggest blessing, bounty
and gift to the whole universe by Allah(SWT). And even Allah praises Rasool Allah(SAW) in
his own way.

(5) Surah Al-Ahzab [33:56]..."Surely Allah and His Angels send blessings on the Holy
Prophet (Sall Allahu ‘alaihi wa Salim). O you who believe! Send Blessings (Durood) and
Salutations (Salaams) on the Prophet with worthy Salutation".

so reading all Quranic ayats you will know that Allah orders to celebrate the blessed days and
birth days of prophets are blessed ones. And Allah him self praises Rasool Allah. So we should
celebrate and praise Rasool Allah(SAW) and his birthday.

ii.HADEES

(1) Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The best day
on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he was made to enter
Paradise, on it he was expelled from it.

(Sahi muslim, vol 1, no 1970)

So if Friday is the best day of the week cause that day Prophet Adam was created and it is belong
to him then the how special the day would be when Our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon
Him) is born?

We all know that Rasool Allah(SAW) was born on Monday. There are many many hadees which
shows that Rasool Allah(SAW) use to fast on Mondays.

(2) Narrated by Hazrat Abo Qatada(RZ) that we asked Rasool Allah(SAW) about fasting
on Mondays and he replied " This is the day when i was born and I received revelations."
[Sahi Muslim, Book of fasts, no 1162]

[Sunan Nasai, no 2777]

[Masnad Imam Hambal, no 22594]

In this hadees it is clear that when companions of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon Him)
asked him that why is he fasting on Mondays the first thing he said that "this is the day when i
was born". It was his way of celebrating it. So today how can some one say it biddat e saiya(bad
innovation)?

(3) A VERY IMPORTANT HADEES

"some one saw Abo Lahab in dream after his death and asked how is he doing?. He replied
i am in too much torment and never get rid of it. But ya im rewarded (because of the act) a
bit on freeing soiaba (which he did on the birth of Rasool Allah(SAW)).

[Sahi Bukhari, vol 2, Book of Nikah, no 764]

The story behind it is that Abo lahab had a maid named soiaba. when birth time of Rasool
Allah(SAW) was near, he (abo labab) sent soiba to Hazrat Amina to serve her. When Rasool
Allah(SAW) was born, soiaba came to abo lahab and told him that "congratulations! Allah has
given your brother a son(SAW). In this Happiness, abo lahab waved his 2 fingers telling sobia
that she is free from now.

Hazrat Abbas(RZ) said abo lahab was blessed on Monday's because monday was the birthday of
Rasool Allah(SAW) and when soiaba congratulated him on the birth of Rasool Allah(SAW), in
the act of happiness he gave soiaba her freedom.

According to Imam Ibn e Jozi, Shaink Abdul Haq Muhadis Dahlvi, Hafiz Shams ud din ibn
alJazri and many more that "when a person like abo jahal, against whom there are verses in
Quran is rewarded on mondays because of that one act then who can think of the reward of a
Muslim who every year celebrates Rasool Allah(SAW)'s birthday with love and happiness.
Imam Shams-ud-din Dimishqi (Rahimuhullah) writes:

Translation: It is proven that Abu Lahab's punishment of fire is reduced on every Monday
because he rejoiced on brith of Prophet (salallaho alaihi wasalam) and freed the slave-woman
Thawba (RA) When Abu Lahab, whose eternal abode is hell fire and regarding whom whole
surah of Tabat Yada (i.e. Surah Lahab) was revealed, he gets Takhfif in his Adhaab every
Monday then Imagine the situation of a (momin) who has spent his life in rejoicing over birth of
Prophet (saw) and died as a Mawhid [ Mawrid as Sadi Fi Mawlid al Hadi by Imam al-Dimishqi
and Imam Suyuti in Hassan al Maqsad fi Amal al Mawlid, Page No. 66]

(4) Narrated by Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas(RZ) that when Rasool Allah(SAW) arrived
Madina, he found jews fasting on the day of Ashora. upon his(SAW) asking jews said "this
is a great day. This day Allah saved Hazrat Mosa(AS) from the army of fero and drowned
them, so to thank Allah, Hazrat Mosa(AS) fasted this day. Upon this Rasool Allah(SAW)
said "i am more close to Hazrat Mosa(AS) then jews, thus Rasool Allah(SAW) fasted and
ordered other to fast too"

[Sahi Bukhari, no 3216]

[Sahi Muslim, no 1130]

This hadees clearly tells us that Hazrat Mosa(AS) and later on jews fast on Ashora because that
day Allah blessed them with freedom from the fero and Rasool Allah(SAW) not only fasted him
self but ordered his companions too to fast that day. So there is no question of not celebrating
special blessed days.

NOW FOR A MUSLIM, ASHORA IS MORE BLESSED DAY OR THE BIRTH OF OUR
RASOOL(SAW) IS? i leave this question on your iman as there is a hadees.....
(5) Narrated by Hazrat Uns(RZ) that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said "No one of you can be a
true Muslim until he/she loves me more then his/her parents, children and all other
people."

[Sahi Bukhari, Kitab ul Iman, Hadees no 15]

[Sahi Muslim, Kitab ul Iman, Hadees no 44]

(6) Hadrat Anas bin Malik (ra) narrates that Prophet (saw) while mentioning his journey of
Miraaj said: Jibril (a.s) asked me to get off from Buraak at Bethlehem and told me to say
the prayer there, after which he said: Do you know where you have prayed (O Messenger
of Allah)? You prayed at Bethlehem where Isa (a.s) "was born".

(Sunnan an Nasai’i, Volume 1, Page No. 241, Hadith No. 448 )

(7) Our Prophet [May Allah bless him and grant Him peace] celebrated the birth of his son
Ibraaheem by freeing a slave.

(Tareekh Ibn Kathir, “Birth of Ibraaheem”).

So the Mawlid and the places where Prophets (A.S) are born are amongst Sha’ir (sings to be
venerated) of Allah.

3. DID PROPHET MUHAMMAD CELEBRATED MILAD?

Narrated by Anas, that "The Prophet slaughtered a `aqiqa [sacrifice for newborns] for
himself after he received the prophecy," although it has been mentioned that his grandfather
`Abd al-Muttalib did that on the seventh day after he was born, and the `aqiqa cannot be
repeated. Thus the reason for the Prophet's action is to give thanks to Allah for sending him as a
mercy to the worlds, and to give honor to his Umma, in the same way that he used to pray on
himself. It is recommended for us, therefore, that we also show thanks for his birth by meeting
with our brothers, by feeding people, and other such good works and rejoicing." This hadith
confirms the aforementioned hadith of the Prophet's emphasis of Monday as the day of his
birthday and that of his prophethood.

[Husn al-Maqsad fi Amal al-Mawlid Page No. 64-65]

Narrated by Hazrat Abo Qatada(RZ) that we asked Rasool Allah(SAW) about fasting on
Mondays and he replied " This is the day when i was born and I received revelations."

[Sahi Muslim, Book of fasts, no 1162]

Our Prophet [May Allah bless him and grant Him peace] celebrated the birth of his son
Ibraaheem by freeing a slave.

(Tareekh Ibn Kathir, “Birth of Ibraaheem”).

So yes Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon Him) not only celebrated his birthday but also the
milad of his son Ibraheem by fasting and freeing slave.

4. MILAD UN NABI IS BIDDAT(INNOVATION)?

Although i have proved according to Quran and Hadees that celebrating Milad un Nabi is not a
biddat. It was there even in the time of Rasool Allah(SAW) and he him self use to celebrate his
birthday. But still many people think that its biddat and out of islam.

well for that they have to know about the biddat and following topic will help them

https://www.facebook.com/notes/prophet-muhammad-saw-the-last-and-greatest-of-all-
prophets/what-is-biddah-innovation/10151628923229918

The Sheikh ul Islam and hadith Master of his age, Ibn Hajr Asqalani was asked about the
practice of commemorating the birth of the Prophet, and gave the following written reply: As for
the origin of the practice of commemorating the Prophet's birth, it is an innovation that has not
been conveyed to us from any of the pious early muslims of the first three centuries, despite
which it has included both features that are praisweorthy and features that are not. If one takes
care to include in such a commemoration only things that are praiseworthy and avoids those that
are otherwise, it is a praise worthy innovation, while if ones does not, it is not. An authentic
primary textual basis from which its legal validity is inferable has occured to me, namely the
rigorously authenticated (sahih) hadith in the collections of Bukhari and Muslim that the Prophet
came to Medina and found the Jews fasting on the tenth of Muharram `Ashura ' So he asked
them about it and they replied: "It is the day on which Allah drowned Pharaoh and rescued
Moses, so we fast in it to thanks to Allah Most high," which indicates the validity of giving
thanks to Allah for the blessings He has bestowed on a particular day in providing a benefit, or
averting an affliction, repeating one's thanks on the anniversary of that day every year, giving
thanks to Allah taking * any various forms of worship such as prostration, fasting, giving charity
or reciting the Koran. Then what blessing is greather than the Birth of the Prophet, the Prophet of
Mercy, on this day? in light of which, one should take care to commemorate it on the day itself
in order to confrom to the above story of moses and the tenth of Muharram, [but] those who do
not view the matter thus do not mind commemorating it on any day of the month, while some
have expanded its time to any of day the year, whatever exception bay e taken at such a view

[Husn al-Maqsad fi Amal al-Mawlid Page No. 63]

plus there are many biddat e hasana which people are doing but they don't know like

(1). Compiling the Qur'an al-kareem

(2). The Maqam of Hadrat Ibrahim alaihi as-salaam in relation to the Ka’aba

(3). Adding the first call to prayer on Friday

(4). The addition to the tashahhud by Ibn Masud

(5). The addition to the tashahhud by Abdullah Ibn 'Umar

Do any one who is against milad have answers for these? Even if i admit that it is biddat then IT
IS BIDDAT E HASANA not biddat e saiya and there is no question is obeying biddat e hasana.

5. SHAIKS AND IMAMS IN THE FAVOR OF CELEBRATING MILAD UN NABI(SAW)

Here i'll only mention the names and books of imams and shaiks who are in favor of celebrating
eid milad un Nabi(SAW) though i have there words too but writing all will make topic huge.
And just one saying from Hazrat Umar rz him self

Imam As-Syafie wrote in "Faslun Fii Bayan Fadli Maulid Nabi (s.a.w) that Saidina Umar (r.a.)
once said: "whosoever encourages (celebrates) Maulidur Rasul, he has raised the deen of Islam
to a high level."Saidina Usman (r.a.) once said: "Whosoever spends one dirham for Maulid Nabi
(s.a.w), it's as if he had fought in Badr and Hunayn"

The Imam of Saudis and Salafis (wahabi), Imam Ibn Taymiyyah writes, “Those who
celebrate Eid Milad un Nabi through the love and respect of the Prophet [May Allah bless Him
and grant Him peace], will be rewarded by Allah. He also writes, If someone celebrates Milad
with the love and respect of Prophet [peace be upon him], he will have a “big reward”. He says
that in Muslim communities, Milad-un-Nabi gatherings are only done with the respect and love
of the Muslims for the Prophet [May Allah bless him and grant Him peace]

(Majma` Fatawa Ibn Taymiyyah, Vol. 23, p. 163 & Iqtidaa’ us-siraat-il-Mustaqeem, page 294,
295, 297]

The leader of all current Salafis (wahabi), Sheikh Dr. Yousuf Al Qardawi says,

some Muslims maintain that celebrating any Islamic occasion is forbidden; they consider
celebrating occasions such as ….., the Prophet’s birthday and other Islamic occasions recorded in
the Prophet’s biography, to be bid`ah (innovation), which is a sign of going astray and, thus, a
way to hellfire. But it is not absolutely so. However, there is nothing wrong in making use of
such an occasion as the Prophet’s birthday to remember and remind people of the great
personality of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), his honorable biography, and his
true message that has been revealed to him by Allah Almighty as a mercy for the worlds. How
can this be considered a bid`ah?

Dr. Qardawi’s complete Fatwa is posted at

http://www.islamicsupremecouncil.com/qaradhawi.htm

Although, Dr. Zakir Naik is against the celebration of Eid Milad un Nabi (peace be upon him)
but Zakir Naik claims
that he learnt Islam from Maulana Ahmed Deedat of South Africa. Here is the video of Maulana
Ahmed Deedat. He says that he celebrates Eid Milad un Nabi (peace be upon him) and he
encourages people to do so. He confronted the ignorance about Eid Milad un Nabi (Peace be
upon him) directly.

The oldest source that mentions a public commemoration of the Mawlid is in Ibn Jubayr's (540-
614) Rihal ("Travels"), p. 114-115:

"This blessed place [the house of the Prophet] is opened, and all men enter it to derive blessing
from it (mutabarrikin bihi), on every Monday of the month of Rabi` al-Awwal; for on that day
and in that

month was born the Prophet.“

The 7th-century historians Abul `Abbas al-`Azafi and his son Abul Qasim al-`Azafi wrote in
their unpublished Kitab ad-durr almunazzam: "Pious pilgrims and prominent travelers testified
that, on the day of the Mawlid in Makkah, no activities are undertaken, and nothing is sold or
bought, except by the people who are busy visiting

his noble birthplace, and rush to it. On this day the door of Ka`ba is opened and visited by the
public."

The famous scholar of Ghair Muqalideen (salafi (wahabi)), Nawab Saddiq Hassan Khan
Bhopali said:
What is wrong in it if we cannot do dhikr of Prophet (salallaho alaihi wasalam)’s Seerah, his
Hidaya, his Birth and his death evreyday, then we should do it every month and in days of Rabi
Ul Awwal and they should not be left empty.
He writes further: A Person who does not get happy upon incidents of Mawlid and does not
thank Allah for such a great blessing then "SUCH A PERSON IS NOT MUSLIM"

[Ash Shamama tul Anbarah min Mawlid al Khayr ul Barah, Page No. 12]

Note: No wonder our Salafis have not even spared their own people in Takfir, the above fatwa is
an open takfir upon all Salafis who make sad faces on Mawlid and try to refute it (Note: Its has
been mentioned in the beginning that Shaytan cried loudly on birth of Prophet saw)

Imam Qastallani (Rahimuhullah) also said: May Allah have mercy on the one who turns the
nights of the month of the Prophet's birth into celebration in order to decrease the suffering of
those whose hearts are filled with disease and sickness."[Al-Muwahib- Volume 1, Page No 148]

Sheikh ul Islam Imam Ibn Hajr al Haytami (Rahimuhullah) writes:

The gatherings of Mawlid and Adhkaar which take place during our time, they are mostly
confined to good deeds, for example in them Sadaqat are given, Dhikr is done, Darud and Salam
is sent upon the Prophet (salallaho alaihi wasalam) and he is praised. [Imam al Haythami (rah) in
Fatawa al Hadithiyyah, Page No. 202]

Shah Wali Ullah Muhadith Dhelvi (Rahimuhullah) the great Imam of al-Hind mentions one of
his all time wonderful experiences as:
I took part in a gathering of Mawlid inside Makkah where people were sending Darood and
Slaam upon Prophet (Peace be upon him) and mentioning the incidents which took place during
the time of your birth (before and after) and those which were witnessed before you were
appointed as a Nabi (such as Nur eliminating from Bibi Amina RA, she seeing Nur, woman
proposing to Abdullah RA on sight of Nur on his forhead etc...) suddeny I saw Nur to have
enveloped one group of people, I don’t claim that I saw this with my bodlily eyes, nor do I claim
that it was spiritual and Allah knows the best regarding these two, however upon concentration
on these Anwaar a reality opened upon me that these Anwaar are of those Angels who take part
in such gatherings, I also saw Mercy to be decending along with Anwaar of Angels

[Fayudh al Haramayn, Pages 80-81]

Shah Abdul Aziz Muhadith Dhelvi (Rahimuhullah) the author of leading book written on
refutation of Rafidhis (i.e. Tohfa Athna Ashriyah) he said:
The Barakah of Rabi ul Awwal is due to birth of Prophet (salallaho alaihi wasalam) in this
month, the more this Ummah sends Darud and Salaam and arrange for (sadaqa for the poor),
more will they be blessed

[ Fatawa al Azizi 1:123]

Imam Ibn Jawzi (Rahimuhullah) the most strict scholar on Jirah wa Tadeel, even he wrote a
complete book on Mawlid where he said:
In Haramayn (i.e. Makkah and Madina), in Egypt, Yemen rather all people of Arab world have
been celebrating Mawlid for long. Upon sight of the moon in Rabi ul Awwal their happiness
touches the limits and hence they make specific gatherings for Dhikr of Mawlid due to which
they earn immense Ajr and Success.

[Biyan al Milaad an Nabwi, Page No. 58]

Imam Shams-ud-din Dimishqi (Rahimuhullah) writes:

Nabi. Before him there was no concept of not celebrating it. It had been done through out the
history of Islam. In makka madina and rest of the world.

6. HOW TO CELEBRATE

Imam Jalal ud din Suyuti (Rahimuhullah) the Mujaddad (reviiver) of 9th century writes:

Translation: The reality of Mawlid is that people gather to recite Quran to the extent that is easy,
also to discuss narrations which are regarding Prophet (salallaho alaihi wasalam), the signs
which took place on his birth. Then dinning is arranged for them and they return without adding
anything more to this "Bidat al Hasanah". The one who arranges it gets Thawab due to honoring
Prophet (salallaho alaihi wasalam) and showing gratitude on his birth
[As-Suyuti – Rahimuhullah in Al Hawi lil Fatawi, Volume 1, Page No. 292, Published by
Maktaba al Asriya, Beirut, Lebanon]

The Poet of the East, Allama Muhammad Iqbal (Rahimuhullah) said:

Milad un Nabi (salallaho alaihi wasalam) is amongst the sacred days for Muslims. According to
my understanding it is very crucial for nourishment and treatment of human minds and hearts,
Hence it is necessary for Muslims to keep in their sight the Aswa ur Rasul (salallaho alaihi
wasalam). In the following three ways they can keep their emotions intact.

1. The first way is of sending Darood and Salaam which is part and parcel of Muslim's life, they
try to find every possible time to send Darood. I have come to know about Arab world that if 2
people get into a fight in market then the third says loudly: Allah humma Sali Ala Sayyidna wa
Barik Wassalim, hearing this the fight stops immediately, this is the power which Darood holds
therefore it is necessary to embed the thought in heart of the person on whom Darood is sent (i.e.
Prophet Salallaho alaihi wasalam)

2. The second way deals with Gatherings i.e. Muslims should gather in great number and one
person out of them (i.e. leader) who is fully versed regarding the Life and works of Pride to the
worlds (i.e. Prophet Salallaho alaihi wasalam) should mention them in detail so that the devotion
to follow the way of Prophet (saw) awakens in hearts of Muslims, for this purpose we have also

3. The third way is although difficult but still it to be mentioned is very important. It is that
Prophet (salallaho alaihi wasalam) is remembered in such a way that our hearts (and ways)
become Mazhar (signs) of different aspects of Nabuwah i.e. the feeling which was there about
1300 years ago due to literal presence of Prophet (salallaho alaihi wasalam), the same feeling
arises in our hearts too.

[Asaar e Iqbal, Pages. 306-307]

how should we celebrate it? answer is very simple

1. We should keep fast.

2. Say our prayers with full concentration.

3. Recite darood and salam as much as possible.

4. Read and tell the miracles that happen at the time of birth.

https://www.facebook.com/notes/prophet-muhammad-saw-the-last-and-greatest-of-all-
prophets/miracles-at-the-birth-time-of-prophet-muhammad-peace-be-upon-
him/10151622415324918

5. Describe the physical appearance of Rasool Allah(SAW) with love.

https://www.facebook.com/notes/prophet-muhammad-saw-the-last-and-greatest-of-all-
prophets/physical-looks-of-prophet-muhammad-peace-be-upon-him/10151633084374918

6. We should not do any thing against the teaching of islam.

7. We should give charity, food and cloths to the poor.

And this is not on only that day infect We should live our whole lives according to Sunnah.

7. IS LOVING MEANS FOLLOWING ONLY? AND WHY TO CELEBRATE WHEN

12TH RABI UL AWAL IS ALSO THE DEATH DATE OF PROPHET?

IS LOVING FOLLOWING ONLY?

Again this is just said to stop people for celebrating. Love is a feeling coming from heart and
following is a physical act. How can they both be same? We also follow some one that we are
afraid of. So following is not the right justification of loving some one.

I'll write just one example. No one in the world can deny that a mother loves her child more then
any one else in the world. Mother is the first school for a kid. she teaches her kid not just to
follow her. but she loves her kid too. when it comes to teaching following, a mother some times
can be little hard to her kid. but most of the times she loves her kid. just being hard to make a kid
obedient can make him a rabble and just loving a kid will spoil him.

The correct way is a balance between love and following. Same things goes to Iman (faith). just
following Prophet Muhammad is not every thing. we should love him too. and celebrating his
birthday is a way of expressing our love.
WHY CELEBRATE?

Imam Jalal ud din Suyuti (Rahimuhullah) answers why celebrating on birth supercedes the
sorrow of Prophet (saw) passing away on same date.

Translation: The birth of Prophet (salallaho alaihi wasalam) is a great blessing for us and his
death is very saddening for us too, however Shariah has ordered us to rejoice and thank Allah on
blessings, whereas on calamity it has taught us to have patience while hiding it, this is why
Shariah has told us to do Aqiqa on birth which is a form of being happy and thankful to Allah for
giving us birth, but on death there is no concept of sacrificing an animal and even lamenting is
forbidden. Hence in light of rulings prescribed by shariah one should rejoice in Rabi ul Awwal
on birth of our beloved Prophet (salallaho alaihi wasalam) [Husn al-Maqsad fi Amal al-Mawlid
Page No. 54-55]

According to some traditions, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) passed away on 12th
Rabi Al Awwal. It was indeed a very painful and sad occasion for the Sahabah. They were going
to miss his physical company. As Qur’an describes that Prophet Muhammad (peace upon him)
had to taste the taste of death. َ‫ِإنَّكَ َم ِِّيتٌ َو ِإ َّن ُهم َّم ِِّيتُون‬

Truly thou wilt die (one day), and truly they (too) will die (one day). [az-Zumar 39:30].
However, not a single companion (Sahabi) ever believed that Prophet Muhammad (peace be
upon him) died as an ordinary person dies. They all believed and every Muslim must believe that
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) listens our Darood and Salam and responds our
Darood and Salam. Dead people do not listen or respond.

In the holy Qur’an Allah has forbidden to call Martyrs dead but Allah says they are alive and fed
by Allah. A Muslim believes that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is superior than his
followers and

all the martyrs. He is alive in his grave. Here are some authentic Ahadith for your information.
Anas b. Malik reported, Allah's Messenger ( ‫ ) صلى هللا عليه وسلم‬said: The Prophets are alive in
their graves and pray. (Bayhaqi, Hayatul Anmbiya, page 3)

Narated By AbudDarda: The Apostle of Allah ( ‫ ) صلى هللا عليه وسلم‬said: Among the most excellent
of your days is Friday; so invoke many blessings (Darood & Salam) on me that day, for your
blessing will be submitted to me. They (the Companions) asked: Apostle of Allah, how can our
blessing be submitted to you, when your body is

decayed? He said: Allah has prohibited the earth from consuming the bodies of the Prophets.

[Sunan Ibn Maja Volume 001: Hadith Number 1626:]

Narrated Abdullah Ibn Umar (RA): Allah's Messenger ( ‫صلى هللا عليه‬

.said: Whoever visits my grave after my death it is same he has visited me in my life ) ‫وسلم‬

[Tibrani Volume 012: Hadith Number 406, Bayhaqi Shab ul Iman Volume 003: Hadith Number
489]

8. A POINT TO BE NOTED

If a moment is related to some blessed thing, it became blessed it self such as Ramazan is a
blessed month because of one night of lailatul Qadar...and Lailatul Qadar is blessed because of
Quran..and in Quran that this night is better then 1000 months. We keep ashora fast..because
Rasool Allah(SAW) did and that's in the celebration of Hazrat Mosa. But when it comes to Milad
un Nabi..which is without doubt the most beloved in whole universe and there is hadees e Qudsi
where Allah says that "Oo Mohammad(SAW) if i haven't created you..i wouldn't create
universe". we found excuses and call it biddat....what a shame.

In every Muslim country today, we find people celebrating the Most Beloved Prophet's birthday.
This is true of the following: Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Iraq, Kuwait, the
Emirates, Saudi Arabia (not officially, but in the majority of homes), Sudan, Yemen, Libya,
Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, Djibouti, Somalia, Turkey, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka,
Iran, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkestan, Bosnia (former Yugoslavia), Indonesia,
Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, and most other Islamic countries. In most Arab countries it is a
national holiday. All these countries, O' Nations of Islam, are celebrating that event.

How is it that today a minority is coming and making up a ruling that it is haram? And who are
these scholars who spoke against Mawlid, in comparison to the huffaz (hadith masters) and
scholars of the Community such as Abu Shama, 'Asqalani, Suyuti, Sakhawi, Haytami, Shawkani,
and al-Qari, all of whom declared Mawlid praiseworthy ? How can some one declare haram
something that even the strictest of their scholars, Ibn Taymiyya, allowed under certain
conditions, and which Ibn al-Jawzi and Ibn Kathir encouraged, each of them by writing a booklet
entitled Mawlid and consisting of poems and passages from the sirah?

If some thing is not mentioned in Quran o Hadith then its not been mentioned is a permission it
self. Cause Sayyadina Abdullah ibn Abbas said that "Whatever the Qur'an termed as halal is
halal and whatever it deemed haram is haram and about which it remained silent, this is
forgiven"(Abu Dawud Vol 2)

If someone will still insist that they are not allowed then verse 6:150 of the Qur'an pleads

"bring forward your witnesses who can testify that Allah has forbidden this".

Can those people who say that celebrations are forbidden provide us with even one speck of
proof that Allah has forbidden it? They cannot! So, according to Qur'anic and Prophetic
teachings, the celebrations and other such actions are totally permissible in Islam and those who
object to them are certainly astray.
9. WHY BIRTHDAY OF PROPHET MUHAMMAD (PEACE BE UPON HIM) IS
CALLED EID WHERE THERE ARE JUST 2 EIDS?

This question is purely based upon the ignorance of Arabic language.

You can pickup any Arabic - English dictionary and you will find the translation of birthday is
“Eid Milad”. Since it is the birthday of Nabi (peace be upon him); therefore, it is called Eid
Milad un Nabi (Peacebe upon him)

For example, the birthday of Abdul Rahman in Arabic will be called “Eid Milad Abdul
Rahman”. Therefore, Nabi’s birthday in Arabic will be called “Eid Milad un Nabi” (peace be
upon him). It is not the issue of two Eids or three Eids. It is the linguistic issue that many people
don’t know.

10. Counter refutation of Salafis

Counter refutation of Salafi Muslims, they say: Mawlid was not practised or arranged by any of
the Sahaba, nor is there any proof of it being done by Tabiyeen, these are the Islaaf whom we
follow and choosing their way is the safest path.

Answer: There are many things which were not practised by Sahaba and Tabiyeen, but later
Ulama derived rulings on them looking at the principles, Therefore If anything does not
contradict the principles of Shariah then it has always been allowed, for example the knowledge
of Jirah wa Tadil in hadith, the knowledge of Asma ul Rijaal etc. The point is that their Asal is
found in Shariah, similarly the Asal for rejoicing on Mawlid is found in Quran itself.

Ques)Mawlid is Bidat al Dhalalah, Prophet (saw) said in rigorously authentic ahadith that All
bidahs are misguidance and all misguidance are in the fire.

Ans: This hadith is not general but rather specific as classical scholars have explained, such
terminology is used in Shariah many times, for example Quran states: "Verily you and what you
worship apart from Allah are the fuel of hell" (Qur'an 21:98)

We all know that Jesus is worshipped by Christians, now if we make this ayah general then
Naudhobillah Jesus shall become fuel of hell fire too (Audhobillah Min Dhalik), therefore we
have to understand the reality behind words of Prophet (saw), the Bidahs which Prophet (saw)
forbade were all new innovations which contradicted shariah, the dalil for this could be found in
Sahih Bukhari
Volume 3, Book 49, Number 861: (Sahih Bukhari)
Narrated Aisha: Allah's Apostle said, "If somebody innovates something which is not in
harmony with the principles of our religion, that thing is rejected."

The Important Principle

we know from many ahadith that Prophet (saw) allowed new matters in deen, like few sahaba
recited Fatiha on bite of snake, they had no knowledge of it from Prophet (saw), but on coming
to Prophet (saw) it was approved, some people still argue that it was allowed in presence of
Prophet (saw), whatever he allows and forbids we have to follow, the answer to this is that
Prophet (saw) could never contradict in his sayings, If he has laid down a principle that all
innovations are evil in mutlaqqan terms then there is no Jawaz of him accepting some himself,
hence It is necessary to check everything according to principles of Shariah.

One more answer to this is that Umar (ra) called combining sahaba behind 1 Qari as "Na’imul
Bidah (i.e. Excellent Bidah)"... this is proof from Nass that every bidah is not bad, on this some
people also argue that Umar (ra) was referring to Lughwi Bidah not Shari’i, they are asked to
bring proof from hadith itself that Umar (ra) differentiated bidah between Lughwi and Shari’i,
above all Usman (ra) started the second Adhaan for Jumma, Salafis reply to this as: They were
Khulafa ar rashideen and we are bound to follow them as hadith states so, the answer to this is
same i.e. had every bidah been evil then our pious predecessors would not have contradicated
themselves.

Ques) The day of Prophet (saw) ‘s birth is not confirmed to be 12th of Rabi Ul Awwal, rather his
day of death is confirmed to be 12th Rabi Ul Awwal, hence to rejoice on a sad day is a wrong
thing.

Ans: First of all those who prove Mawlid always believe that Mawlid is not restricted to 1 date
only, you can rejoice on any day, secondly the early most Seerah books like Seerat Ibn Ishaq
(rah), Ibn Hisham (rah), Tabaqat Ibn Sa’d (rah) confirm the date of birth to be 12th Rabi ul
Awwal, so does Imam Ibn Kathir (rah) in his book Sirat ar Rasul where he calls it mainstream
opinion and calls other opinions as weak Conclusion

Ques).Mawlid is root cause of filthy things in ummah like drinking, intermixing of women,
music etc…

Ans: This type of ignorance is hurled at Muslims when opposite party is left with nothing to say,
This is also answered in the article by the way, i.e. If someone does a wrong deed in Masjid this
does not mean we stop going to Masjid atall, secondly would these things become Halal if not
done in Milad? Hence Mawlid itself is allowed

Ques) Imam Ibn Kathir (rah) called Mawlid as a grave innovation in Al Bidayah wan Nihaya,
Malik Muzzafar ud din was as Bidati, Fasiq ruler?
Ans: It’s a forgery as proven above

11. Rabi-ul-Awal: The Most Authentic Date of Milad

Some people claim that the exact date of birth of the Prophet (‫ )عليه وآله وسلم صلى هللا‬is not known
and hence there is little room for the celebration of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (‫ )صلى هللا عليه وآله وسلم‬on
12th of Rabi-ul-Awal.

12 Rabi-ul-Awal is not only accepted as Milad Day from the classical and ancient scholars, it is
also confirmed by the governments of the whole Islamic world. The holidays of almost 2 dozen
Islamic countries, and except Iran ALL other countries celebrate it on 12 Rabi-ul-Awal. Iran
celebrates it on 17 Rabi-ul-Awal, but this is because they coincide it with the birth date of Imam
Jafar Sadiq (‫)السالم عليه‬.

Opinion of Renowned Historians about the Authentic Date of Milad

1. Imam Ibn-e-Ishaq (85-151 H): Messenger of Allah (‫ )وسلم صلى هللا عليه وآله‬was born on 12 Rabi-
ul-Awal in Aam-ul-Feel. (Ibn-e-Jozi in Al-Wafa, Page 87)

2. Allama Ibn-e-Hasham (213 H): Messenger of Allah (‫ )صلى هللا عليه وآله وسلم‬was born on Monday
12 Rabi-ul-Awal in Aam-ul-Feel. (Ibn-e-Hasham in As-Sirat-un-Nabawiya, Vol. 1, Page 158)

3. Imam Ibn-e-Jareer Tabari (224-310 H): Messenger of Allah (‫ )عليه وآله وسلم صلى هللا‬was born on
Monday 12 Rabi-ul-Awal in Aam-ul-Feel. (Tarikh-ul-Umam-wal-Muluk, Vol. 2, Page 125)

4. Allama Abu-ul-Hasan Ali Bin Muhammad Al-Mawardi (370-480 H): Messenger of Allah
(‫ )صلى هللا عليه وآله وسلم‬was born 50 days after the event of Ashab-ul-Feel and after the death of His
father on Monday 12 Rabi-ul-Awal. (Ailam-un-Nabuwa, Page 192)

5. Imam Al-Hafiz Abu-ul-Fatah Al-Undalasi (671-734 H): Our leader and our Prophet
Muhammad (‫)صلى هللا عليه وآله وسلم‬, the Messenger of Allah, was born on Monday 12 Rabi-ul-
Awal in Aam-ul-Feel. (Aayun-al-Asr, Vol.1, Page 33)

6. Allama Ibn-e-Khaldun (732-808 H): Messenger of Allah (‫ )وآله وسلم صلى هللا عليه‬was born on 12
Rabi-ul-Awal in Aam-ul-Feel. It was the 40th year of Emperor Kasra Noshairwan. (Ibn-e-
Khaldun in At-Tarikh Vol. 2, Page 394)

7. Muhammad As-Sadiq Ibrahim Arjoon: From various turaq (chains) it has been established as
true that the Prophet (‫ )هللا عليه وآله وسلم صلى‬was born on Monday 12 Rabi-ul-Awal in Aam-ul-Feel
in the reign of Kasara Noshairwan. (Muhammad Rasool Ullah, Vol. 1, Page 102)

8. Sheikh Abdul-Haq Muhadath Dehlvi (950-1052 H):Know it well, that over-whelming

majority of the experts of sayar and tarikh (i.e. biographers and historians) hold the opinion that
An-Hazrat (i.e. the prophet ‫ )وآله وسلم صلى هللا عليه‬was born in Aam-ul-Feel … It is well known that
the month was of Rabi-ul-Awal and its date was 12. Various scholars have shown their
agreement with this (date). (Madarij-un-Nabuwa, Vol. 2, Page 14)

9. Nawab Muhammad Sadiq Hasan Khan Bohapalvi: The birth (of the Prophet ‫صلى هللا عليه وآله‬
‫ )وسلم‬was happened in Mecca at the time of Fajar on Monday 12 Rabi-ul-Awal in Aam-ul-Feel.
Majority of scholars holds this opinion. Ibn-e-Jozi has narrated a consensus (of scholars) on it.
(Ash-Shumama-tul-Anbariya Fi Mowlid Khair-al-Bariya, Page 7)

You can see that the historians / scholars from the first / second century of Hijri, as well as the
scholars of later times, had been authenticating it. The list also includes the well known leader of
Salafis, i.e. Nawab Sadiq Hasan Bohapalvi.

This Date is Officially Recognized by Islamic World

Milad-un-Nabi (‫ )صلى هللا عليه وآله وسلم‬is celebrated throughout the Islamic world, with the
exception of a few countries. Interestingly, all the Islamic countries (except Iran, who celebrate
on 17th) celebrate it on 12th of Rabi-ul-Awal.

Here is a list of 16 Islamic countries who hold an official holiday on 12th of Rabi-ul-Awal (the
actual list is longer than this):

‫اردن‬
‫امارات‬

‫کويت‬
‫مرا کش‬
‫يمن‬
‫تونس‬
‫شام‬

Conclusion:
The most authentic date of Milad-un-Nabi (i.e. Prophet (‫')وآله وسلم صلى هللا عليه‬s birth), as agreed
upon by the classical and later scholars and historians, and as officially recognized by Islamic
countries, is Monday 12 Rabi-ul-Awal.

Now Im going to prove from a scholar whom even Salafi consider the top most scholar in Tafsir
and Tarikh and he not only says 12th is the mainstreem opinion but also relies with exact hadith
for it

Translation: Ibn Abi Shaybah (rah) in his Musannaf narrates from Affan>>Sa’id>>Jabir and Ibn
Abbas (ridhwan Allahu ajmain) who said: Rasul Ullah (salallaho alaihi wasalam) was born in the
year of elephant on Monday, the 12th Rabi Ul Awwal [Ibn Kathir in Seerat un Nabi, Volume 1,
Page No. 199]

Then he said:

‫وهذا هو المشهور عند الجمهور‬

‫ وهللا أعلم‬.

This is what is famous amongst Majority and Allah knows the best [ibid]

Imam Qastallani (rahimuhullah) said: Rasul Ullah (saw) was born on 12th Rabi ul Awwal and
People of Makkah follow it,on this same day they visit (your place of birth).. It is famous that
you were born on 12th Rabi ul Awwal, the day was of Monday, Ibn Ishaq (rah) and others have
narrated this too

[Al Muwahib al Laduniya, Volume 1, Page No. 88]

So my friends celebrate milad with all the happiness and without any fear. inshAllah you will be
