· Describe the key beliefs and practices of both Hinduism and Buddhism.
· Discuss the differences, similarities and relationship between the two belief systems.
The key beliefs and practices of Hinduism are that individuals must free themselves from selfish desires
that separate them from Brahman. Brahman, the supreme god of Hinduism, the golden circle represents his
eternity. Brahma, the creation of the universe, bearded, four-faced, four-armed deity, and the first member of
the Hindu Trinity. The four faces represents the sacred knowledge of the four Vedas, the four arms represents
the four directions: north, south, west, and east. Vishnu, the preserver and protector of the universe, his role is
to return to earth in troubled times and restore good and evil. Shiva, the destroyer of the universe, his role is to

was born fully awake, his parents named him Siddhartha because it meant “he who has attained his goals”. In
