4. (a) Inference :
The distance of two bright consecutive fringe separation, x, depends
on the distance between double slit and screen, D.

Inferens :
Jarak antara dua pinggiran cerah berturutan, x, bergantung kepada
jarak antara tabir dengan slit dwicelah, D.

(b) Hypothesis :
When the distance between double slit and screen, D, increase, the
bright fringe separation, x, also increase.
Hipotesis : 1
Apabila jarak antara tabir dengan slit dwicelah, D, bertambah, jarak
antara dua pinggiran cerah berturutan, x, turut bertambah.
(c) (i) Aim :
To investigate the relationship between the distance between
double slit and screen, D, and the distance between the bright

fringe separation, x.
Tujuan :
Mengkaji hubungan antara jarak antara dua pinggiran cerah
berturutan, x, dengan jarak antara tabir dengan slit dwicelah,
D.

(ii) Manipulate variable : Distance of double slit from screen, D.

(iii) Apparatus : Ruler, white screen, two narrow slits, laser pen, 1

(v) Procedure :
1. Placed a double slit inline between laser pointer and screen at

distance 1m from the screen.
Pasangkan slit dwicelah segaris antara sinar laser dan tabir
pada jarak 1m dari tabir.
2. Switch on the laser pointer and measure the distance between
5 consecutive bright fringe separations, 5x, that form on
screen. Calculate the value for one bright fringe, x, and
record in table.
Hidupkan sinar laser dan ukur jarak bagi 5 pinggir cerah 1
berturutan, 5x, yang terbentuk pada tabir. Kirakan nilai
bagi satu pinggir cerah dan rekodkan dalam jadual.

3. Repeat step 1 to 2, using difference distance of slit from


screen, D, using D=1.5m, 2.0m, 2.5m and 3.0m. 1
Ulang langkah 1 dan 2, dengan mengubah jarak antara slit
dwicelah dan tabir, D, dimana D=1.5m, 2.0m, 2.5m dan
3.0m.
