ASSIGNMENT TASK OF SEMESTER: This is the assignment of the semester

for Functional English-I course 1st Semester, 2018.

Deadline for submission: 23- 04-2018. Total Marks: 15

Important: Students are provided with 23 days in total for the compleion of task.
After crossing the deadline, which is more than enough for the completion of
project, the teacher will not entertain, accept and grade any assignment. Students
are strictly provided to follow the work till due date.

GUIDELINES FOR PROJECT: PRACTICAL WORK!

1. Make a group of min-4 and max-7 students.

2. Physical tour- 2 or 3 students, writing notes- 1 or 2 students and rest for
final write up.
3. Visit any busy and crowded place in your city. (Ex. Malls, Stores, Parks)
and observe the activities happening around you. Get a closer idea of what’s
around you (People, age, gender, activities, number etc).
4. Take detailed notes of the activities.
5. Take photographs if allowed by the administration of the area. (First go for
their permission).
6. Try to describe as much events as you can.
7. Plan to write the events in a systematic and perfectly organized way. Then
go for description in fair work, Final write up.
8. In the end of the assignment, describe me the role of each group member for
individual assessment and grading of marks. Each student will be marked
on the role provided in the project. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PLACE IN
YOUR FINAL WRITE UP.
9. Submit in a printed copy. (Handwritten is not accepted)
 SEGMENTS OF PROJECT:

1. Introduction of the place (type of place, location and reason of choice) and
why did you chose that place.
2. Series of Events: Observation. (In this section you will described in a
systemic way what sort of activities you found happening).
3. Detailed description: explain in the detailed way possible for me to get a
good understanding of situations and events.
4. What’s different? Throughout the observation at the place what were the
different and unique things you found. Describe in the best way possible.
5. Role of individual group member: what was done by whom?
Communicate to me in clear words what was each person’s job in the
project! MARKING WILL BE ON INDIVIDUAL ROLE, MAKE SURE
YOU HAVE A PLACE IN PROJECT.
6. How will you rate and judge the place? Was the place good one to visit?
Family visit? Friends visit or something. Environment of the place, capacity
of the place, level of people coming there and what else you find relevant to
share.
