IAF can be applied to any situation The Worth MiniClear® Unit treats
where gross contaminants need to small volumes of oily wastewater
be separated from water. Industries (from 600 - 1,500 litres per hour)
such as food processing, transport, and is an ideal, low cost solution
municipal water and wastewater for small businesses who must
treatment, metalworking, mining and comply with EPA wastewater quality
controls.

Operating Principles of Induced Air Flotation

The unit consists of a flotation tank fitted with a vertically mounted
aerator and a circular sludge skimmer or chain sludge scraper to
air control valve
removes the separated wastes. Untreated oily-water or wastewater
air induction cell
enters the feed box via pump or gravity feed and a liquid residence
oils/fats/solids
of 2 minutes permits chemical dosing and mixing to occur if
required. It then enters the induced air flotation (IAF) cell containing
the aerator, which generates fine bubbles to float the oil or sludge
waste.

feed water
The oily components, bubbles and water then overflow the
clean water IAF cell into the disengagement section of the tank where the
aerated waste separates from the bulk of the liquid and collects
on the surface. The waste then travels towards a skimmer or is
transported by a chain scraper to the end of the tank where it
overflows into a trough, while wastewater drains from below.

Concentrated fatty wastes or sludges are then collected by road

tanker for treatment, recycling or disposal.
Clients receive these important benefits
Compared with conventional dissolved air flotation, Bubble Clear® and Mini Clear® systems demonstrate:

High Efficiency Economical Operating Costs

• High Flow Rates – each cell has capacity of up to • Extremely low operation costs compared to equivalent
12kL/hour (288kL/day) throughput rate. DAF units.
• Tolerates variation in feed – unlike dissolved air • Reduce or Eliminate Chemical usage – high efficiency
flotation (DAF) cells, IAF cells can accommodate means less chemicals and therefore reduced water
variation in feed by adjusting bubble size with a treatment costs.
simple turn of a dial. • Fraction of the price of dissolved air systems.

Simple Operation Versatility
