3. MAINTENANCE

I. CAUTIONS ON MAINTENANCE
Observe the following conditions when handling the equipment.

(1) Don't pull out packages while power is ON.

(2) Packages employ MOS components. Pay special attention to static


electricity (nylon gloves, etc. cannot be used). Don't touch the
connector section with bare hands.

(3) Remove connectors and flat cables on both sides of the equipment
before pulling out a package.

(Otherwise connectors and flat cables may be damaged.)

If it becomes necessary to add or replace PC boards during operation,


follow the procedure mentioned below.

8. INSTRUCTIONS ON ROM IC REPLACEMENT
8.1 When replacing ROMs on the CPU board of the OAE-6000 electronic
switching equipment, follow the procedure mentioned below.
In starting replacement work, pay attention to the following items.
(a). Turn OFF the AC switch of the POW panel and take the CPU board
out of the equipment.
(b). Don't place the CPU board directly on the inductive material.
(c). Protect the CPU board from static electricity, dust, etc.
(Don't use nylon gloves.)
(d). Verify product name of the ROM IC to be replaced.
(e). Pay attention to the bend of pin of the ROM IC to be replaced and
its mounting direction.
