PROJECT:

Setting up of Nursing and


Paramedics Training Institute
Healthcare

THE OJECTIVE:
The objective of the proposed paramedics (ECG technician, Radiology technician, CT Scan technician)
and nursing training institute will be to provide advanced training to paramedic students and
aspiring nurses. In addition to providing training, the institute will also emphasize on personal and
professional growth, and professionalism.

The institute will provide training to paramedics and nurses on their key roles and responsibilities

Key responsibilities of a nurse include but not limited to:

► Observe, monitor & provide Hands-on care to patients

► Recording vital signs and medical histories

► Providing emergency medical support

► Assist doctors

► Provide routine individualized healthcare/ personal care to patients

Key responsibilities of a paramedic include but not limited to:

► Maintaining medical records

► Transporting patients to a medical facility

► Manage medical emergency

► Preparing patients for examination

► Adjusting equipment’s based on patient need

The Paramedic Training program will be divided into two phases:

► Classroom training

► Clinical internship in which students will be assigned to a hospital for a fixed period

The training will consist of the following:


►Classroom training – This mode of training will be a lecture method and will cover a particular
topic / curriculum

► Seminars – A lecture method supplemented by the use of proper illustration using training
materials, including audio-visual aids followed by a question & answer session. Presentation of
success stories and case studies is also one of the essential elements of this method

► eLearning – Will provide flexibility and help trainees learn at their own convenience and pace

► Industry tours – This will help trainees witness on-the-job activities and give them an opportunity
to use their skill in field situations

► Internships - Internship in which students will intern with municipal fire department / hospitals
for a fixed period

The proposed institute will train candidates who aspire to enter this field. The institute will focus
on assessment and certification of trained students to bring uniformity across the State. The
Institute will help meet industry needs, ensure availability of industry ready manpower, and
hands-on training of the workforce.

Market Potential:
►Indian healthcare sector was forecasted to reach USD 160 b in 2017, and is poised to reach USD 280 b
by 2020

► India is expected to rank amongst the top three healthcare markets in terms of incremental growth
by 2020

Incentives from Government of India

Scheme for Assistance to Training Institutions

► Assistance may be provided under the scheme for creation or strengthening /


expansion of infrastructure for supporting skill development activities
► Maximum assistance under the scheme will be restricted to INR 150 lakh

National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) Funding

► Provides assistance for creation of skills infrastructure and / or working capital


requirement for skill development activity for first 3 years
► Funding would be up to a maximum of 75% of the investment requirement
► Promoter Contribution shall be to the tune of minimum 25% of the investment
requirement

► NSDC may provide funding in the form of loan, equity, preference


shares, debentures and grant. However, NSDC will prefer to provide
funding in form of loan
