The Post Graduate Programme in Management for
Senior Executives (PGPMAX) is designed especially
for senior managers, whose busy schedules do
not permit them to pursue a full-time programme.
It is equivalent in content and rigour to an Executive
MBA programme and is designed on a schedule
that minimises disruption of work and personal
pursuits. PGPMAX is arguably the first of its kind in
India.

As depicted, Executive MBA programmes are

tailored specifically for senior audiences and are
quite distinct from full-time and part-time MBA
programmes.

In a fast paced environment, organisations
cannot afford to grant long sabbaticals to senior

they handle key roles. PGPMAX addresses this
issue by allowing participants to undergo a
formal, part-time management programme with
minimal disruption of their work schedules.

The world is increasingly becoming more global.
Therefore, global business sensitivities need to
be reinforced. PGPMAX includes an international
immersion component in the programme
involving classroom teaching, industry visits,
and top-management interaction which will
build these sensitivities and help in making the
participant a global leader. The participants will
go on a two week trip to USA and a one week
trip to Brazil, where they will attend classes at
leading global business schools, including
Kellogg School of Management and The
Wharton School.

Career Management
Services
PGPMAX participants will have access to
resources that will help them develop their
careers and realise their full potential. Career

in developing and implementing their personal
career strategy. These services include career

PROGRAMME
DETAILS
Format
The programme is designed on a schedule that
minimises disruption of work and personal pursuits.
Participants will typically be on campus for a week
of classroom learning every 6th week. PGPMAX is a
rigourous and challenging programme. The seven
day schedule will include full days of teaching and
evenings will be used for guest lectures, projects,
and group work. Participants will be required to
stay on campus, or at a suitable accommodation
arranged by the ISB, during those seven days.
During the international immersion component of
the programme, participants may have extended
terms of two weeks. This is to derive full benefit of the
visits abroad and to reduce travel expenses. This
programme format allows them to continue working
and attend a programme that is equal in rigour and
content to an Executive MBA programme.

Alumni Network
Networking Opportunities
The ISB alumni networks organise a wide range of seminars, talks, networking events, and social events to allow alumni
to preserve their ties and develop their interests. With overseas chapters in several countries, the ISB alumni network is
an important channel for graduates of the ISB PGPMAX to retain and expand their social and business networks.

Lifelong Learning
PGPMAX alumni will have access to the alumni web portal, a premier platform where alumni can network and share
knowledge to constantly develop new capabilities and contribute to the development of their business and society.
The portal also provides access to knowledge resources, news and announcements from the ISB, and provides email
contact to other alumni, among other benefits.
World Class Campus
The ISB campus, spread over an expanse of 260 acres, is truly world class and offers state-of-the-art amenities
and first class technological and research resources to the participants.

Executive Housing
The ISB has an in-house executive housing facility with 100 rooms. The facility is managed by a professional
hotel group and is a 5 minute walk from the Academic Centre. The executive rooms are designed to provide a
comfortable stay and are equipped with cable TV, internet connections, business centre facilities, etc.

Learning Resource Centre

The library, known as the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) supports the ISB in building an internationally
top-ranked research driven management institution. LRC holds a massive collection of printed as well as
electronic resources which include books, journals, databases, e-books, e-journals, reports, case studies,
conference proceedings, training manuals, etc.

Currently the LRC has over 30,000 books, 360 print journals and has access to 50 online databases including
over 2000 e-journals.

IT Infrastructure
The ISB’s intensive use of technology provides a competitive advantage in its core areas of education and
research. From the lecture theatres, participants can interact by computer or video-link with faculty, industrial
leaders and others anywhere in the world.

The teaching is augmented and facilitated by the use of a high quality Learning Management System (LMS)
which administers the courses and hosts the online learning material.

Other Facilities
Recreational facilities help students stay fit in spite of their busy schedule. The Recreation Centre includes a
swimming pool, a gymnasium, a room for yoga and aerobics, a basketball court, a football/cricket ground,
squash courts and tennis courts. There are instructors for those who need training in any of the above activities.

Every need like dining, laundry, housekeeping, and banking is taken care of, allowing participants to focus on
studies.
