MODEL LST700 / LST700+ 7-DAY DIGITAL WALL SWITCH TIMER
INSTALLATION & OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Introduction
The LST700 / LST700+ can replace your regular or 3-way switch (where two
switches control the same device) to control a light or any device plugged into
an outlet with a load up to 15 Amps; the maximum rating on the timer label.
The LST700 / LST700+ also has an exclusive manual On-Demand Delayed
OFF mode that enables the user to leave the room while the light is ON and the
timer automatically shuts the load OFF after a preset amount of time without
interfering with programmed AUTOMATIC times or controls.
The LST700 / LST700+ timer can control incandescent lights, compact
fluorescent lights, fluorescent lights, flood lights, LED lights, fans and motors.
You will need to use a Decorator style wall plate with this timer which is not
supplied.
The timer must be mounted into a standard single or multi-ganged electrical
box.
Read wiring instructions carefully and follow guidelines applicable to your
installation.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Single Pole Switch or 3-way to replace an existing switch:
1. TURN OFF POWER by REMOVING FUSE or turning the CIRCUIT
BREAKER OFF.
2. Remove the existing wall switch.
Single Switch (Single Pole Installation):
3. Connect the BLACK building wire from the Main Power Panel to the
BLACK wire from the timer, using the wire nuts provided. Connect the
BLUE wire from the timer to the BLACK wire going to the load. Connect
together the WHITE wire from the main power cable to the WHITE wire
from the timer and the WHITE wire to the load.
THE RED WIRE IS NOT USED FOR SINGLE SWITCH INSTALLATIONS.
Cap the RED wire with a wire nut. This wire MUST BE CAPPED
SECURELY.
BE SURE that ALL the WIRE NUTS are TIGHT and SECURE.
3-way Switch Installation:
4. A three way switch has three wires connected to it. One of the wires is
“common” (the terminal has a different colored screw or there are
markings on the old switch). Connect the BLACK wire from the timer to
the common wire, Connect the other two wires to the BLUE and RED
wires from the timer (it doesn’t matter which goes to which.)
5. Connect together the WHITE wire from the main power cable to the
WHITE wire from the timer and the WHITE wire to the load.
6. Tuck the wires into the wall box leaving room for the timer. BE SURE that
ALL the WIRE NUTS are TIGHT and SECURE.
7. Using the screws provided, mount the timer securely to the wall box then
install the wall plate.
8. Return the power to the circuit at the service panel. The display will start
flashing all icons; see Operating Instructions to program the device.
9. For alternate 3-way Switch Installation, connect each wire as shown
above.
10. Tuck the wires into the wall box leaving room for the timer. BE SURE that
ALL the WIRE NUTS are TIGHT and SECURE.
11. Using the screws provided, mount the timer securely to the wall box then
install the wall plate.
12. Return the power to the circuit at the service panel. The display will blink
all characters and icons; see Operating Instructions to program the
device.
Controls
Operating Modes
The LST700/LST700+ has 4 operating modes. The Mode switch determines
which mode you are in
1. MAN / PRGM (Manual / Program) this mode allows the setting of the Clock
time, Weekday and the Timer ON and OFF times. In this position the
automatic timer function is disabled.
2. VARI (Variable) in this mode the timer is enabled and the ON and OFF
time settings will be altered plus or minus 15 minutes to confuse possible
intruders. (ON & OFF times must be at least 16 minutes after one another
for this feature to operate correctly.)
3. AUTO RUN (Automatic Run) in this mode the timer ON and OFF settings
are enabled as programmed.
4. Delayed OFF Mode. See Operation of Delayed OFF Mode below. The
position of the Mode switch is irrelevant.
Rocker Switch
The rocker switch at the base of the unit will override any current settings. If the
device is ON, the switch will turn it OFF; if OFF, it will turn the device ON.
If the device is in Delayed OFF mode and the light is ON, the switch will turn the
light OFF.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:
Set Current Clock Time and Day of Week
NOTE - The current clock time and day of week must be correctly set first
or you can not program the timer ON or OFF time events.
1. Position the Display slide switch to the Middle position of CLK SET (Clock
Set).
2. Position the Mode slide switch to Left position of MAN/PRGM (Manual /
Program)
3. Depress the UP or DOWN button and hold for 2 seconds, the ON/OFF
icons and all Day of Week (DOW) icons will blank and the clock time will
begin to scroll slowly in the direction you have selected. After 5 seconds,
the time will scroll rapidly. There is an AM / PM indicator that will appear
to indicate morning or evening. Ensure AM or PM is set correctly. Release
Button.
4. After setting the Current Clock Time, wait 5 seconds and the Clock Time
will disappear and all Day of Week Icons (DOW) will blink. Depress the UP
or DOWN button to scroll left or right to set the Current Day of the Week.
(Icon days, from left to right are: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
Thursday, Friday, Saturday (S M T W T F S)
Reset
Holding down both the UP and DOWN buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds will
completely reset the timer. (All programmed events, current time and day of
week will be cleared.) The display will blink all characters and icons and the
timer will need to be re-programmed as stated above, including all ON/OFF
Events.
Note: During a power failure the LCD screen display will be blank. When the
power is restored the Clock Time and Day of Week will be re-displayed.
Set Timer ON / OFF times:
When programming ON/OFF Events, all days of the week are indicated by
default and will blink. The display will have a lowercase “d” and either all Day of
Week icons lit or a single Day of Week indicating you are programming that
particular Day of Week.
Setting the ON and OFF times is referred to as Events 1 & 2 (E:1 & E:2) on the
display. When the Mode switch is placed in the Manual / Program position the
display will show the Day and Event(s) to be programmed.
To program all seven (7) days of the week the same:
1. Move the Display slide switch to the Right position to TIME ON.
2. Move the Mode slide switch to the Left position to MAN/PRGM (Manual /
Program) position. The display will have a lowercase “d” and all Days of
Week icons will blink indicating you are programming all Days of Week the
same.
3. After 5 seconds, the timer will automatically enter Event 1 (E:1) program
mode.
4. Depress the UP or DOWN button and hold for 2 seconds, the time will
begin to scroll slowly in the direction you have selected. After 5 seconds,
the time will scroll rapidly. There is an AM / PM indicator on the top right
of the display that will appear to indicate a morning or evening setting.
5. Move the Display slide switch to the Left position to TIME OFF for Event 1
(E:1) programming.
6. Depress the UP or DOWN button and hold for 2 seconds, the time will
begin to scroll slowly in the direction you have selected. After 5 seconds,
the time will scroll rapidly. There is an AM / PM indicator that will appear
to indicate a morning or evening setting.
7. Move the Mode slide switch to the VARI position and back to the
MAN/PRGM (Manual / Program) position to program Event 2 (E:2).
Repeat steps 4 thru 6.
8. Either Event is disabled when the TIME ON equals the TIME OFF.
9. Move the Mode slide switch to the VARI or AUTO RUN position to enable
the timer.
To program weekends different from weekdays:
1. Follow Steps 1 – 8 above to set all seven (7) days of the week the same.
2. Follow Steps 1 – 9 below to change Saturday and then Sunday (or any
other days) differently.
To program individual days of the week:
1. Move the Display slide switch to the Right position to TIME ON.
2. Move the Mode slide switch to the Left position to MAN/PRGM (Manual /
Program) position. The display will have a lowercase “d” and all Day of
Week icons will blink.
3. While the Day of Week icons are blinking, depress the UP or DOWN
button to scroll to the particular or next Day of Week to be programmed.
After 5 seconds, the timer will automatically enter Event 1 (E:1) program
mode.
4. Depress the UP or DOWN button and hold for 2 seconds, the time will
begin to scroll slowly in the direction you have selected. After 5 seconds,
the time will scroll rapidly. There is an AM / PM indicator on the top right
of the display that will appear to indicate a morning or evening setting.
5. Move the Display slide switch to the Left position to TIME OFF for Event 1
(E:1) programming.
6. Depress the UP or DOWN button and hold for 2 seconds, the time will
begin to scroll slowly in the direction you have selected. After 5 seconds,
the time will scroll rapidly. There is an AM / PM indicator that will appear
to indicate a morning or evening setting.
7. Move the Mode slide switch to the VARI position and back to the
MAN/PRGM (Manual / Program) position to program Event 2 (E:2).
Repeat steps 4 thru 6.
8. Either Event is disabled when the TIME ON equals the TIME OFF.
9. Move the Mode slide switch to the VARI or AUTO RUN position to enable
the timer.
Note: To disable either Event (E:1 or E:2), the Event TIME ON must be
programmed to equal to the Event TIME OFF. (example; E:2 ON @ 12:00am
and OFF @12:00am.)
Re-programming ON/OFF Events in your Timer:
1. Move the Display slide switch to the Right position to TIME ON.
2. Move the Mode slide switch to MAN/PRGM (Manual / Program) position.
The display will have a lowercase “d” and the current programmed Day of
Week icon will blink
3. a) To reprogram all seven (7) days of the week the same; While the
Day of Week icon is blinking, depress the UP or DOWN button and scroll
left past Sunday or right past Saturday until all Days of the Week blink.
After 5 seconds, the timer will enter Event 1 (E:1) program mode.
4. b) To reprogram an individual day of the week; While the Day of Week
icon is blinking, depress the UP or DOWN button to scroll to the particular
or next Day of Week to be programmed. After 5 seconds, the timer will
enter Event 1 (E:1) program mode.
5. Depress the UP or DOWN button and hold for 2 seconds, the time will
begin to scroll slowly in the direction you have selected. After 5 seconds,
the time will scroll rapidly. There is an AM / PM indicator on the top right
of the display that will appear to indicate a morning or evening setting.
6. Move the Display slide switch to the Left position to TIME OFF for Event 1
(E:1) programming.
7. Depress the UP or DOWN button and hold for 2 seconds, the time will
begin to scroll slowly in the direction you have selected. After 5 seconds,
the time will scroll rapidly. There is an AM / PM indicator that will appear
to indicate a morning or evening setting.
8. Move the Mode slide switch to the VARI position and back to the
MAN/PRGM (Manual / Program) position to program Event 2 (E:2).
Repeat steps 5 thru 7.
9. Either Event is disabled when the TIME ON equals the TIME OFF.
10. Move the Mode slide switch to the VARI or AUTO RUN position to enable
the timer.
Once set up, the programmed times are stored in solid state memory and need
never be programmed again unless desired or by a RESET. If you encounter a
power failure the programmed event times will not be lost.
To change the Current Day of Week:
1. Move the Display slide switch to the Right position to TIME ON.
2. Move the Mode slide switch to MAN/PRGM (Manual / Program) position.
3. Depress the UP or DOWN button and hold for 2 seconds, the ON/OFF
icons and all Day of Week (DOW) icons will blank. DO NOT CHANGE
THE CURRENT TIME UNLESS DESIRED. After 5 seconds, the Clock
Time will disappear and the current Day of the Week will blink. Depress
the UP or DOWN button to scroll left or right to change the Current Day of
the Week to the desired setting.
Operation of Manual Delayed OFF Mode:
The Model LST700 / LST700+ Digital Wall Switch Timer is capable of leaving
the light or load ON while leaving a room or building and automatically turning
the light OFF after a factory pre-set amount of time after 10 minutes without
user programming. This function does not interfere with any pre-programmed
times or cycles.
NOTE - The clock time and current day of week must be set first or you
cannot use the Delayed OFF mode. If the Timer is in an automatic ON
cycle, the Delayed OFF mode will not function.
1. The manual Delayed OFF mode is activated by ANY two consecutive
transitions of one (1) second or less of the Rocker Switch. The position of
the Display switch or Mode switch is irrelevant. i.e., If the load is ON, turn
the Rocker Switch OFF then ON or if the load is OFF, then turn the Rocker
Switch ON then OFF quickly.
2. The display will show a factory pre-set count down value of ten (10)
minutes for the count down cycle. The ON indicator will turn on, the
AM/PM indicators will turn off, the load will turn ON, and the time will start
decrementing at one (1) minute intervals. At the end of the count down
cycle, the load will turn OFF.
3. The count down value can be changed at any time by pressing the UP or
DOWN buttons. A maximum value of sixty (60) minutes or a minimum
value of one (1) minute can be set. The Delayed OFF can be stopped
before the end of the cycle by moving the Rocker Switch to the other
position, or by moving the remote 3-way switch (if wired) to the other
position.

Memory Backup: Clock Time and Day of Week settings are protected against
power failure by internal battery backup. The screen is blank during a power
outage. Programmed Event Times are permanently stored in system memory. If
unit is in an Automatic Event Cycle during power outage, timer will automatically
resume ON or OFF settings without any required user interference.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. Separate dimmers and photoelectric switches cannot be used in
combination with your timer.
2. It is recommended that your timer not be used with PAR or “R” type
outdoor flood lamps or lamps higher than 150 watts, since currents
generated during lamp burn-out could damage the timer.
