No matter the size or type of the industry, workplace safety
procedures are a necessity for all organisations. Safety
measures protect employees as well as equipment and
business property. Avoiding or minimizing injuries and
damage to the equipment and facilities will result in fewer

DROPPED OBJECT PREVENTION
In the offshore oil & gas industry, dropped and falling objects present a constant risk
when working at height approximately 88% of dropped objects are equipment parts or
unsecured objects. 42% of dropped objects are due to failed fixtures and fittings or
inadequate securing.
Dropped objects are a serious concern that can put a workforce at risk and result in lost
productivity. Whether in the worker’s hand or idle on the work surface, a dangerous
dropped object situation can happen without notice. Results can range from
inconvenience/loss of productivity to life-altering injury or death.
Safety of tools and equipment at heights involves the organization and securing of these
objects, whether in use or not. Hard hats and steel toes help reduce the damage but in the

STOPDROP TOOLING
Stopdrop Tooling provides hand tools which have been designed to prevent dropping when
"Working At Height”. These tools are commonly called tools at height, tools aloft or
tethered tools. The tooling is designed and modified to enable user freedom and maintain
product functionality but continue to safely control the tool.
In the drilling industry it is estimated that one in ten dropped object incidents are caused by
falling hand tools. By properly securing the hand tools to a fixed point or person with a
lanyard and using locking techniques for individual tool parts, dropped objects incidents
can be prevented. Stopdrop is a member of the drops workplace organisation which is
dedicated to reducing dropped object incidents on and offshore

Reversible Ratchets features a Pin Locking System for socket retention which
is secure but easy to release using a Pin Removal Tool. These ratchets are
made from Chrome Vanadium Steel, the Chromium finish helps resist
abrasion, oxidation, and corrosion.
The forward/reverse selector is quick and easy to use and the tool maintains
full functionality when attached to a lanyard at height.

AIR IMPACT WRENCHES
Air Impact Wrenches features a permanent attachment point. ½”
Wrench has a Max. Torque of 625 ft-lbs and a Free Speed (RPM) of
10,000. It features forward and revers buttons and a textured feel
for a safe grip. The ¾” Wrench has a Max. Torque of 1450 ft-lbs
and a Free Speed (RPM) of 5200.
The ‘Gun’ features corrosion resistant treatment on internal parts reducing wear and
downtime due to contaminants in the air system, plus the Titanium hammer case provides
greater durability with reduced tool weight. It also has a durable, textured finish which
adds a non-slip grip and the handle grip is ergonomic and secure. Includes forwards and

ADJUSTABLE SPUD WRENCH
Adjustable Spud Wrench features a shackle attachment point. The
versatile Wrench fits nuts and bolts up to 46MM. Conveniently sized

Anti-Spark Hammer Heads are made from Beryllium Copper, which is

CONFINED SPACE SAFETY
A number of people are killed or seriously injured in confined spaces each year.
This happens in a wide range of industries, from those involving complex plant to

Rollgliss™ Rescumatic™ Automatic Descent Device
The Rollgliss™ Rescumatic® provides safe, automatic controlled descent from overhead
cranes, towers, buildings or other heights. The system lowers the endangered person at a
controlled rate of 3 ft (1m) per second, vertically.
The Rescumatic® comprises a braid-covered steel cable with a safety belt fitted to each
end. The cable passes through sheaves in the control unit, activating a geared brake system.

HOSE PROTECTION RANGE
Hose guards, protectors, sleeves and whipchecks are used to protect hydraulic hose
and tubing, that helps to eliminate damage caused by extreme heat, and water
abrasion and to extend the life of the hose assembly. These hose guards and hose
sleeves also provide protection to workers from slippage, spillage or hose
movement due to vehicle traffic.

steel which on installation diverts strain on the coupling to the

PROTRUSION HAZARDS
A protrusion hazard is a component or piece of hardware that is capable of impaling or

cutting a worker, if he falls against the hazard. Some protrusions are also capable of
catching strings or items of clothing worn by workers. This type of entanglement is
especially hazardous because it might result in strangulation. The protrusion hazards can
also lead to slips, trip and falls.
Examples of protrusion and entanglement hazards include:

• Bolt ends that extend more than two threads beyond the face of the nut
• Hardware configurations that form a hook or leave a gap or space between
components
• Open “S” type hooks
• Rungs or handholds that protrude outward from a support structure may be
capable of penetrating the eye socket
Also, special attention should be paid to the area at the top of slides and sliding devices.
Protruding hardware and some gaps may act as a hook and catch clothing. Ropes should
be anchored securely at both ends and not be capable of forming a loop or a noose.

The new PSC Shove‐It™ Hand Safety Tool is non‐conductive and designed to help push
against flat surfaces, corners or rounded edges of suspended loads, move pipe and
tubular with the “V” shaped end and manoeuvre and grab slings and taglines with the
opposing hooks. A rubber lining added to “V” to improves grip.
Available in 42” and 72” lengths. The 42” version comes with a D shaped handle.
PSC TUBULARGUIDER®
Hand Safety Tool
With the new PSC TubularGuider® now reduce pinch and crush related injuries while
working with suspender tubular loads.
The PSC TubularGuider® features non-slip grips, locking mechanism and super strong
aluminium shaft. The Dual Release uses a spring loaded noose release to extend the
cable through the tool to release the tubular or the slide control which instantly drops the
noose from the tool.

MATERIAL HANDLING SAFETY
Moving materials around tight spaces can cause caught between or struck by
injuries. Ensuring that materials are moved in an ergonomic way and where ever

PSC LIFT ASSIST MANUAL LIFTING AIDS
A new range of PSC hands‐off policy tools (lift assist manual lifting aids) to reduce

DRUM LIFTERS
• Heavy drums should always be moved with proper drum handling equipment. A full
55-gallon steel drum can weigh over 2,000 pounds, with typical weights of 200 to 400
kgs. When being moved, the contents of your drum may shift inside, making the drum
difficult to control or even dangerous.
• Mishandling a heavy drum can cause serious injury. Common injuries include a
strained back, crushed fingers or hands, and foot trauma. Incidents of dropped drums,
or drums rolling out of control, can also cause spills and damage.
• Drum handling safety requires a systematic approach to eliminate all possible causes
of injury. Always use proper equipment designed for the task when handling heavy
drums. Train all employees in proper drum handling safety procedures and use of
drum handling equipment.

DRUM LIFTERS
• PSC-92 has self-adjusting tong-like action when you raise the hook, to lift a rimmed
steel, plastic or fiber / cardboard drum.
• PSC-91 is an effective and simple-to-use drum lift with carefully designed ice-tong-
like geometry and broad faced, but narrow profile grippers. The broad faced grippers
spread holding force to minimize pressure on drum.
• PSC-90 helps grab, lift, move and place your 55 gallon drums. PSC-90 lifter helps
grip the drum automatically, then release it only when the drum is set down.
SAFETY PINS / SPLIT PINS
Safety pin are designed for maximum security and reliability.
A split pin, also known as a cotter pin or cotter key, is a metal fastener with two tines
that are bent during installation, similar to a staple or rivet. Typically made of thick wire
with a half-circular cross section, split pins come in multiple sizes and types.
The shackle is secured using a nut and bolt, with the safety pin providing an extra layer
of fastening to further safeguard against the shackle coming loose.

PSC Flammable Storage Cabinets ensure maximum protection for both personnel and
