Do commissioning
ETS5 download all the resources (address table, association table, parameter) in the
device.
If using a TP/RF media coupler, the media coupler must be downloaded before or could be
set via parameter in a special mode to disable filtering

Street lighting
KNX is usually used inside buildings, but cities are big houses and just imagine
big rooms, big stairs …...
KNX RF has been elected, as a today reference RF solution and the time
schedule of the project has requested to uses existing technologies.
The foreseen integration of data security has also driven this innovative
project.

Control/command the system
Main requirement : new installation but mainly retrofit with change of bulb by
LED and smart control/command
Existing wiring
There is no possibilities to
split the existing wiring and
control differently except if
we add a new virtual wiring

Communication Model
ID server
Server layer
Global server
That also handle WEB clients
Concentrator layer. On that layer we can add the API concentrator layer
IP
GSM – 3G
to enter in an other management software

Application Overview
The control application provides functions to check and detect fault. Alerts can be
from different type :
• device fault detection
• communication fault
• software problem

Benefits
Thanks to the predefined time schedule we can have a smooth startup of the lighting network.
• As impact this will reduce the current spikes in the evening and also allow to reduce the stress on
the whole installation
• We can also do light shading thanks to our cluster that can be defined by the lifestyle of the city.
• Validation of Energy savings / time scheduling via Local Metering in lights

Add a new device
• With SmartPhone, take the photo of the QR code on the device. Using the serial number in the
device and the GPS coordinate of the photo, add the device in the system directly on the map. Or
enter the serial number of the device directly
Concentrator gives an individual address and uses his Domain Address to link the device in the
system
