I’ve chosen to use a personal development plan to allow myself to reflect on my professional
skills and career goals. It allows me to evaluate and reflect on my current skills, identify where
I can improve and how I can go about improving and hopefully then see an improvement.
(Patel et al., 2013) As I am aware of skills and situations limiting my career I will be able to
change any issues I may have to help me to prolong my career for as long as possible. Other
advantages of using Professional Development Plans include better patient care, motivation
of therapist and allow for business success. (Chlebikova et al., 2015; Gustafsson Christine and
Fagerberg Ingegerd, 2004)
