whether to put a parcel tax measure on the ballot to preserve our
program quality given inadequate state funding. Belmont-
Redwood Shores’ funding from the state is $1,400/student/year
below the state average for K-8 school districts. e Board took

ballot. e measure is $118/parcel/year for 5 years, and provides

it on, but please let it be soothing gentle rain or even a
downpour during the evening hours when we are home
relaxing with family and friends, and not on the freeways
struggling with our daily commute and hordes of drivers who
seem to lose their patience and whatever driving skills they
may have learned years ago as soon as the pavement gets wet.

Usually if something comes in the amount of 10, that thing is viewed
upon favorably. When a baby is born, parents immediately count the
number of fingers and toes to make sure there are 10 of each. At the
end of every year, there are slews and slews of top 10 lists. When
shopping, a 10 for $10 sale is great deal. 10 is the number of bowling
pins to start each frame, and the number of frames in each game. e
number of hot dogs per pack is 10. It’s the time of the morning I’d
prefer waking up if it weren’t for my wife and kids. And, wait for it…
there are 10 Commandments. of course not. But what jesus did was to take the 10 and break them
